  • Rodgers is a fat asshole

  • @lmacorp you honestly don't believe he just made 100% perfect sense? what planet are you from?

  • no sign of dignitiy ..

  • MIKE ROGERS FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!

  • This man is making good points. The statistics about cancer at the end alone should be enough to make people think this bill over.

  • Pelosi was right about we need to clean the swamp of corruption - too bad the Democrats took control and made it worse with their scams. Here is a man who truly cares about healthcare rather than proclaim to care. He calls out the liars and points out the facts, including comparisons of cancer survival rates. We nee...d his type of healthcare reform which provides care for people through staying out of the doctor-patient relationship rather than over 2000 pages of the new version of the IRS code

  • well, mr Rogers

seems like you've had that ol Queen sixed sheet on your King sized bed for a while now

only for about half a century, i reckon

don't you think it's about time you put a King sized sheet on that bed

oh - no you don't - you're covered by the sheet

You're snug as a bug in a rug

& that's all that matters to you

  • I wish there were more Mike Rogers' in the US.

  • tony, Tell that to people w/ Cancer, Breast Cancer, Brain Tumors..etc..Over simplifying a complex problem. We pay for people who don't have coverage wheather they are poor or whatever. We pay thru Medical Bankruptcies. We pay when people never received preventive care then get sick or slowly die which cost more not to mention the Humanity factor on top of this.

  • Refreshing video. Healthcare is a privilege, not a right. Similar to your drivers license, you must earn and maintain it.

  • Well, now you have the scandal with the hacked emails proving that climatologists colluded in manipulating data to further their far-left agenda to support the widely held view that climate change is real, and is being largely caused by the actions of mankind.

There seems to be a pattern with the progressive democrats who keep pushing their radical agenda with deceit, half-truths and outright lies. Where the end justifies the means no matter how many people get hurt.

  • The public has lost trust in politicians who have rammed through reckless bailouts, a failed stimulus, and a Cash for Clunkers program that went broke in days. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are heading to bankruptcy and they want to take over our health care? This govt takeover will leave us with crippling debt.

  • By the way, its not only right wingers that hate the bail out many left wingers do too. I am not happy either, a lot of this problem stemmed from deregulation both by Reps & Demos & I saw it coming.

Most economic experts agree we were saved from another Great Depression. I hate the fact that Wall St got rewarded but sometimes u have to pay the piper. Everyone has the right 2 b upset & this is a mess but Sh*t happens. Tell Mike Rodgers 2 give up his Health Ins lobby $ & free Gov Health Ins!

  • Most economic experts agree this was a man made meltdown. The system was deliberately overloaded. Congress, the Senate & the Treasury looked the other way and kept feeding the fire. The people in charge of fixing the problem created the problem.

If the democrat health plans are so good, then why did the Senate, Congress and the President all opt of it? If they really believe this is the right thing to do, then why won't they lead by example and join in what they're forcing upon the rest of us?

  • Socialist Dem, Deregulation, lobbyists, speculators, greed & people who couldn't afford 2 buy were to blame. I don't buy the Conspiracy angle at all. Check out Rep Weiner on the Health care issue he's on you tube!

  • No, the blame fits squarely on the shoulders of our elected representatives charged with overseeing Fannie, Freddie and the Treasury. They're supposed to watch out for us and they let us down. They pushed a combination of risky, inappropriate and unfair mortgage lending practices that fueled the fire. No conspiracy here, this is pretty straight forward.

I don't support Rep Weiner, he's part of the problem. He's actually for a single payer and supports this nightmare of a health bill.

  • Watch your thoughts! Personal responsibility is anti the policy that got us here = Penalize Success to Reward Failure. How are all those poor people going to accomplish the "bottom up recovery" with that kind of talk?

  • I don't understand why you people are so resistant to the government takeover of your health care. It's all part of a bigger plan to equalize everyone. America will become the leader of a new socialist world order. Obama is our first socialist President, a real world President.

Yes you will lose benefits, yes health care will be rationed but more people will now have access to it. And yes, your taxes will go up. It's for the good of all, the community.

  • @1ruskie101

I appreciate the tone of your essay. You seem to have control of your emotions and the ability to communicate without spewing hatred.

But I challenge you to research the history of countries that have employed socialism. Search for repeating patterns of how limited or extreme socialism effects economics and individual freedoms. Then judge for yourself if the fruits of socialism are what you want to manifest in America.

  • To be honest, I am having difficulty with the people I'm around. My fellow progressive's want to push the health care agenda through deceit and outright lies whereas I want to be up front with everything. Surprisingly, you conservatives are not far from truth.

How can we build a new socialist America if it's based on lies?

  • 1ruskie, This socialist one world Gov crap I first heard from the John Birch society back in the 1950's & 60's. Its been repackage & rebought by extremists who get their info from Muilti millionaire political TV Hosts, Health Ins Lobbyists & their paid spokespersons added w/ conspiracy websites. Not to mention Repubs who are spewing this stuff & don't realize they are creating a Frankenstein Monster.

Just thought you like 2 know the History of this kind of thought.

  • derbyclown, thanks for the misinformation, typical of my progressive democrats buddies. No matter how hard I push them, they still can't bring themselves to be honest. But many don't understand the bill.

They call it bait & switch in order to achieve their objectives. The end justifies the means.

If you're not going to be upfront, then what's the point? Why should anyone buy into the $1+ trillion dollar health bill if the people pushing it are glossing over the details and are being dishonest?

  • 1Ruskie, I gave you absolutely no mis info!

I'm 56 yrs old & lived thru the history I talked about. Look it up on the Internet , library or is that some kind of Conspiracy too?

You want to be believe they are coming to get you then watch out for 2012 on the Mayan Calendar,The End Times, Space Aliens & Bigfoot..etc...etc....

  • derbyclown, what in the world are you talking about, aliens, conspiracy, mayan calendar? You of all people then should be well aware of what's happening in our Federal Govt. Either you support the progressive democrats in their quest to remake American society through deception and misinformation or you don't.

  • 1ruskie, There's 2 sides to every story.I know others who tell a similar story to yours but claim its Demos & Repubs!

If ur truly interested in a logical health ins debate check out Rep Wiener on you tube.

  • derby, I'm not sure about a world conspiracy or anything like that but look at what's happening in America today. People are very worried about the Federal govt. overreaching and bankrupting our country.

Govt now owns 50% of the homes in America (through the bailout fiasco involving Freddie and Fannie)

Govt now owns the biggest banks and investment houses in America.

Govt now runs a significant portion of the auto industry.

Now, Govt wants to run the health care system, too!

  • The Gov has no interest in running Auto Companies, Banks or owning homes. These ALL are massive headaches & a no Win stituation 4 any politican.

It was to avoid a massive meltdown of the economy. Some may think it was a power grab & thats the paranoid angle I point out. I am someone who supports single payer healthcare but will accept a strong public option (Please check out Rep Wieners thoughts on the subject). I am a Capitalist but not a Sucker 4 Health Ins ripoff or Corporatocracy.

  • Unless Atlas Shrugs!

LEMMING IQ TEST = 1. with over one in ten working Americans unemployed and no attention paid to stimulating private sector jobs for more than a year except a statement at the State of the Union, do you really believe that Obama cares about what happens to you?

  • JoshGemini, Funny the people I talk to people in Europe & Canada like their system. People don't buy the lies!

  • I think he makes some great points but my problem is, is what about those that have jobs but have NO HEALTH CARE!! Its always easy for someone who already has good insurance through their job, which the government does!!, to say NO TO HEALTH REFORM because they dont have to worry about it.

  • Heatlh Insurance Companies aren't the solution, they are the Problem.

  • Take a look at who his campaign contributors are, and you'll know enough about this joker. Just another bought and paid for politician of the GOP, which now stands for Grand Old Prevaricators (LIARS).

    TIR

  • We have very few problems which have not been caused by the actions of our government.

  • Seven times Pelosi has prevented bills that would turn the farmer's water back on from reaching the floor of the house for a vote. How is that for Dem compassion? The 2 inch Delta Smelt fish is more important than allowing people to work and produce food for the world. Ever see food lines in America that were caused by the gov?

  • Pelosi, as you are enjoying your thanksgiving dinner, think of the 30,000 farmworkers standing in food lines because of your actions. If you can deny water to farmers, you can deny healthcare to any citizen or group that you deem expendable.

  • Wow, I really like this guy. We need more folks up in Congress to be more aggressive about the lies going on up there on the hill. Hey Mike, ever thought about running for President? You have my vote in 2012, and I am from Ohio. Thanks for fighting for me and my family. God Bless you Sir....!

  • I couldn't agree more with you david..this guy would get my vote for president!

  • Rep Rodgers supporters, I have a Bridge in Brooklyn 2 sell ya!

  • What a moron! Lets take this ahole off the governement plan that he has put him on ones offered by the lobbist he supports and lets see how he changes his song and dance. Last one out of Michigan please turn off the lights.

  • I heard at one time during this debate that somewhere they added an ammendment that required congress and the Pres. to have the same health care they were drafting for the rest of us - good plan.

  • yes, good plan. That would be very interesting to see. Can you imagine that plan getting voted out. I wonder if people would still think they have the best health, but probably because congress would tell them they do.

  • Good points, but i'm confused. If he thinks government health care is so bad then why doesn't he give his free government care up and pay separately for a private plan like everyone else does and actually pay for it? I wish they debated that a little more.

  • dude it was a joke. you misspelled one word. i honestly do agree with your comment.

  • i totally agree with you, even though you spell like shit.

  • i sure dont care about faggots.

  • Why are WE paying for Mike Rodger's Cadillac Healthcare you do know that he accepts Heatlhcare Lobby money besides his Gov pay? Thats call conflict of Interest. If Rodgers doesn't like Govervment Health Insurance then why is he accepting it ? His supporters are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

  • prove it.

  • bravo! i wish we had more gov't public servants like this. You know people that are supposed to look out for our best interest. people that know their history this is why America revolted from England, to form a free country free of a large gov't. A country where they can prosper. What is the incentive to work anymore? harder you work the more taxes you pay or you can get a free hand out from gov't with magical money, that is printed and our dollar keeps doing down.

  • Holy crap a Democrat who doesnt care about the party says

  • Mike Rogers has it right. He's honest a very rare congressman. Thank you for standing up for the middle class and for what is right.

  • Congressman Mike Rogers is a homophobic scumbag. Don't confuse him with the gay activist and blogger Mike Rogers. These two people are very different. The first one is a degenerate, the second a great person.

  • You must be one of the fags he speaks against. Good for him. We don't need any more queers and fagots trying to mess with kids. go back to the bus station where you belong. Cocksucker.

  • AMEN

  • let the heavens bless you, stevesprinceofsteaks. this is the best comment that i have ever read on youtube.

  • you're right, one of them is a degenerate. you just picked the wrong one.

  • sorry to break it to you but there is nothing "great" about standing up for gays.

  • WOW! This guy is Dean On Balls Accurate!

  • Employers are not going to keep the plans anyway. No incentive, same rising costs.

  • I am currently uninsured. Not because I am unwilling to pay or even because I have any physical ailments. I'm in school and my employer does not currently offer health insurance for me. I continue to be denied because I have a pre-existing condition. I think that Obama should go after the insurance companies who continue to overcharge and deny people that really need the insurance. I do not think a government backed plan is a good "fix." Obama needs to have our doctors in charge instead of CEO

  • I thank you for civil and intelligent response to my comment.....

  • What Rogers doesn't tell you is that if we don't fix the system, your company's health care plan will dump you anyway if you or a fellow employee havs the poor judgment to get catastrophically sick. . And you won't be able to buy insurance from anybody else either.

Rogers had cancer at 19. I bet if it happened today, the insurance company would have denied the test and dropped his coverage. Insurance companies already ration care. They are already between you and your doctor.

  • You say absolutely nothing to address what Rogers said. Instead you say, "your company's health care plan will dump you anyway."

Sooo.... You would just like it more if the government was screwing you over instead of a private company? You are a pathetic sheep regurgitating what your leaders have told you to.

We need to fix the problems we've created in the system we have, not hand it over to the government and just accept that our health care will be rationed to us as they see fit.

  • Not only that, but the stuff he does tell you is a lie. If his vague attempts at predicting the future counted as facts, then every company out there would be on the cheapest possible health insurance plan. It is not. His argument is basically the same as if someone claimed that if we have a WIC program, all restaurants and grocery stores would go out of business.

His claims regarding rationed care in countries with universal healthcare are also blatant and deliberate lies.

  • Outstanding. I couldn't have said it better myself. If the Republicans need a leader, get behind this guy.

  • Keep quoting the Lewin Group -it's a subsidiary of United Health Insurance

  • Americans need to wake up from the "Obama Dream" & educate themselves... or Socialism is coming...

  • thank you!!!

  • Wow, finally someone in public office is willing to comment on how great our healthcare system is. Of course, having the best possible care, also comes along with a price. If you are willing to take an increased risk for your children receiving less, then consider saving some money and move to another country. Take a look at how any military care is given, not just for the soldier, but for their family! Good luck finding a provider that accepts new patients. I'd vote for this guy, hands down

  • Right On!! Congressman Rogers!! Keep on trepeating to those who want to push this through-- that 85% of us don't want it!! What happen to the "American Dream"? You get what you earn!!! We sick and tired of this!!

  • If a privately owned insurance company offered companies health insurance with costs as low as the government plan offers they would surely switch to the cheaper plan regardless if the employees wanted it or not. The employees would have no choice. This would force other insurance companies to become more competitive in their pricing to keep a mass exodus from happening. It doesn't matter if the cheaper plan comes from the government or from the private sector.

  • We have Obamacare on the table because America had a temper tantrum...we want what we want when we want it. Benefits are paid for by people who earn them. Those who do not pay for benefits can go to the emergency room at any hospital and must be treated. The quality of healthcare is there for people who WORK for it AND pay for it. Imagine that.

  • We need reform to our healthcare system. Insurance companies run the game. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georga says in-patient rehab on 1 total knee replacement is not necessary, thus they only cover in-patient rehab in you have BOTH KNEES replaced AT THE SAME TIME! Yet, they want their $550/month (which has had only 3 claims filed in the past 25 years!!+) It's robbery and is sad. Want to see healthcare reform? Remove the FREE life-long insurance from the congressmen (which is the best $ can buy!)

  • I am a cancer survivor as well. Had I lived in the other countries Mr. Rogers mentioned I would not be alive today and my daughters would have lost their mother as toddlers! I thank God for the knowledge that our doctors in the USA have and for the many lives they save. This bill will take that away and many people will perish as a result. Keep up the fight, Mike Rogers!!

  • Keep going brother you have many supporting you!!! We are praying for you.

  • I want this guy for President! Funny how we never hear the Democrats say why the GOP is wrong. They just say "They are the NO Party". Truth is that the Rep. have been locked of any say into any bills. Dem. vote like Sheep.

  • democracie is getting to powerful the only reason why obama is president is cause of his lies and his skin colour

  • This guy is right.

This is why Wal-Mart supports the ObamaCare plan.

The unions are safe because the unions will keep the gold-plated plans for union workers.

The unions also get a $10 Billion windfall from HR 3200.

  • This guy is schister. Didn't you people hear that he's using statistics from an insurance company? Somebody's hand is in his pocket? You all obviously think the healthcare system is fine until you're the one on the chopping block of the insurance companies. Haven't connected the dots of Obama's speed in trying to push this thing thru to the job loss? No job, no health care. You tools. Don't worry you'll be next.

  • this guy is in the heart of unionville, he is risking alot speaking the truth

  • Comment removed

  • Well, well -- another SOROS funded, SEIU, ACORN, APOLLO Thug Rat running around spewing telecrutches talking points.

You're CLUELESS -- whereas we're tried thru trials of life. BTDT, no job, between jobs, with jobs, etc... health care was & IS available for 100% of the population, right now. Sorry part is - the illegal aliens just know how to USE the system better than the average uneducated Americans.

Bottom line --go to school; get a job & EARN your rights to good health care & INSURANCE!

  • It's one thing to be against the specific plans that are being worked on but to say that the system is fine the and 100% of the population can get health care right now is just wrong. Unless you count waiting for Remote Area Medial to show up and give health care to the working poor. This group used to spend all their time providing health care to third world countries. Now they spend 60% of their time providing health care to the working poor of the USA - the richest country in the world.

  • The working poor are people who earn a living but still can't afford health care because their company doesn't provide it or because their deductibles and co-pays are too high.

Feel free to call me names and type in caps if you like.

  • BTW - didn't call you names, nor would I.

You are a reasonable & logical debater.

    Cheers! :-)

  • Not saying our system is 'fine'. I do know, from personal experience, prior to meeting my hubby in 1999, while between jobs building my coffee shop, I had an emergency DNC which could have cost only $50 -- but I chose to pay out of pocket. The care is there if needed.

We do believe in Health Reform -- but not single payer; Tort reform a MUST; illegals excluded; intrastate ins available across state lines; & PRIVATE co-ops more available for small co's.

IMHO - socialism is NOT the answer!

  • wha??? reasonable debate on youtube???? ;-)

There are a lot of problems with the system beginning with the fact that a health care system was never designed. Company provided health care was a gimmick created by companies after WWII in lieu of larger salaries. Unfortunately the cost of health care has risen way too high to remain profitable for them. Tackling that nut is extremely complicated and way more than just Tort reform.

  • There needs to be strong anti trust legislation because going across state line won't help you if the same insurance companies are there too. Unfortunately there is too much corporate influence in Washington for either Tort or Anti Trust reform to happen. The other hard thing to tackle are are on the medical cost side. How much should doctors and hospitals charge? Why does that hospital tooth brush cost $40?

  • Why should that doctor that just stuck his head in the door for 2 seconds be able to charge me $1000? Why are unnecessary tests ordered? The flip side why can't I get a test I think I should have? Do the pharmaceutical companies have undue influence in what drugs I get? We have some very expensive tools at our disposal that will prolong you at the end of your life but for what quality of life? If it means I will live for another month in a hospital, in pain, suffering while my family goes

  • bankrupt I would rather not use them, Now will I be able to communicate that? If I do, will my wishes be honored or will my family or doctor, out of grief on inability to let go prolong my suffering. There are too many important issues to let the free market work it out because the free market has turned into a small number of giant companies that have squashed competition.

  • sorry for rambling

  • Once again, we're on the same page, here, also.

(pick up your jaws) rofl :D LOL

The sad part of it all -- the corruption is what will keep 'We the People" from getting any truly 'good' bill out of DC.

  • Are you sitting down? LOL

    On that we AGREE! :D

The list I gave are just the beginning... but will help in savings, to start with. :)

  • sadly corruption and incompetence goes throughout the system from patients through doctors / hospitals / insurance companies and politicians. It makes it hard to get anything done

  • Discouraging, indeed!

Reminded of another point from Huckabee show, tonight. See if you agree.

Raise young adult age to at least 22, long as still under parents roof/care-- in order to get jobs & own ins. 4 to 6 mil out of 30 mil.

Pre-existing insured -- forget the number of them.

Uninsurable -- something to cover them, too.

Those are the most critical to deal with now, IMHO! :)

Did that make sense? ;P LOL

  • I read somewhere that if we make sure insurance companies cover everyone despite pre-existing conditions, at decent rates they will have a reason to join in the fight to prevent disease - for example - do battle against junk food industry. Make sure school lunches are healthy. That will go a long way towards a healthier country and help keep costs down.

  • As a SDA -- we're all for 'healthy' but there crosses a line of free interprize & turning the country into a "police state", gov controlled counry.

It's a very FINE LINE -- which wouldn't hold Constitutional grounds in courts.

IMHO -- but please don't misunderstand me. We agree the country could do with living healthier. :D

It's those details that get in the way. LOL

  • Obviously, I'm unable to drink tea, type & spell at the same time. OOPS! LOL

  • the only government control would be in saying health insurance companies can't deny service because of pre-existing conditions. Their affect in the fight against junk food industry would be a byproduct. IMHO the junk food industry already controls the government through lobbyists and donations to politicians. They already have an unfair advantage. Our ability to ask the government to ban junk food in public schools and not market to kids does not make a police state.

  • There have to be some regulations otherwise just legalize all drugs and see what happens. What is the difference between cocaine, tobacco, and High Fructose Corn Syrup? They all are addictive and they will all kill you eventually. What is the SDA? Oh and going back a couple of posts, what would you use to insure the uninsurable and who would pay for it.

  • Comment removed

  • How wonderful it is to hear a Congressman speak out like this. Please continue to do so, Rep. Rogers. We need more in Congress like you.

Thank you for speaking up for the people of this nation.

  • Remember the Patriot is NOT the minority in this country that's a farce of mainstream media!

Oh and the Patriot Act which Obama, during his campaign he promised he would not reinstate it...... he did.

Terrorism is a joke when it dies off don't buy into the idea of alien invasion that's the next fear tactic I hear, no really just watch this if you want some REAL hope

    /watch?v=g2v0cu8pQOc

  • MI is my home state I'm glad 2 see they're not all Obamanites, in SC now and I love my REPUBLIC not this bullshit claim that we're a democracy!

    End the FED

End the National Defense Act of 1947(dictatorship)

Replace them of course with logical, FAIR principals kind of like the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which I advise go read the 1st 10 amendments and I DARE YOU to name 1 that hasn't been perversed along with the Constitution itself which is a direct violation of the 9th amendment.

  • this guy rocks

  • I can't understand why EDUCATED AMERICANS want to give up our level of health care, the best in the world, for somethinf less ??? WAY TO GO OBAMMA !!!

  • Excellent - well said. Mr. Rogers. I have a great deal of respect for leaders such as yourself that are standing up and speaking out.

Now we need a reform plan that helps get the government even further away from healthcare so that the free market can do what it does best.

  • We need more honest, sensible people in Congress -- like Mike Rogers.

  • Absolutely! :D

  • WOW...this guy is who I want in power!!

  • I like this guy
