  • sweet child in tiiiiime!

  • My jaw literally dropped. o_o

  • the sound of lower it´s mistake!!

  • I really like the way you're playing.....you really got the right feeling........congratulations.....

  • whats your setup?

  • Most people play it with 3rd harmonic percussion but the studio version was actually 2nd percussion and drawbars set to something like 444000000. And lots and lots of reverb! :-)

    Well played!

  • @gietek Thanks,its a great piece of music

  • @gietek no drawbars should be 808000000

  • @PimpinBassie2 no, they should be like I said before. If you want Made in Japan sound then indeed you need something like 808000000+3rd percussion. In the original version you can clearly hear the 5 1/2' harmonic.

  • les aigu son nickel mais les bass son trop eglise !!

  • authentic sound.

  • Thanks

  • I ended up getting this last April. The C1 is wonderful. Turns out the Nord I looked at in a store was not the C1, but a different model that had the 3 organs built-in. THAT one had the detestable keyboard action I hated, and I assumed all Nords had it. I was calling around asking about the C1 and this store lied to me to get me in there! AT LAST, a cool organ that's new; a 1st in, what, 40 years?

  • The c1 is a great combo organ.I am sure you will enjoy yours.

    Best regards Kim.

  • very, very good .great sound ,Vote five stars. a question..... Upper drawbar settings are 747000000 with 2nd percussion on fast and loud have I understood well?

  • Thanks.Yes that is right.also i think i had the simulated leslie on slow and quite alot of reverb

  • thanks for your answer... :)

  • Very good! Thanks for sharing!

  • Most people do it wrong, the correct drawbar setting is 808800000. Or, if you want to enhance the percussion more, 505500000 and so on.

  • DATS da real deel mon !!!

  • thanks

  • Impressive sound! just like on deep purple in rock!

  • Thank you Kim,

If you could remind your lower drawbar settings....

    Thanks in advance,

    AL,

  • Hi Al,I can't remember the lower settings.Try

007644000 this sounds close to what i did.

    Regards Kim

  • Bonjour,

I have an Electro2, trying to play like you this Child in time intro....

Could you give me your drawbars registration, this would save me time...

    Merci beaucoup.

  • Hi,I think the upper drawbar settings are 747000000 with 2nd percussion on fast and loud.

    Best regards Kim

  • This is excellent; the sounds are almost dead on as well. The keyboardist in my band is considering buying the Nord combo organ and this video is definitely a good endorsement .

  • Thanks

The Nord sounds great live through a pair of mackies

  • Amazing!!! Really nice

  • Thanks Bionuker.

  • Increase the perc-decay and lower the perc-volume or throw the 4' a bit back

  • Thanks

  • That is sounding great! Good job!!!

  • Cheers

  • Come on, do the complete version for us :)

  • Hi

Do you mean the organ intro or the complete song. Regards Kim

  • The complete song :)

  • Hi,

All that lead guitar playing. There is no way i could play that.I'm not that good.

    Regards Kim.

  • Hi

Even if i sat down and leart all the guitar lead break which would take me weeks,it would never sound right because the guitar does alot of bending notes and you can't do that on the organ.Thats why in a group you have each player playing there own part(organ,Bass,Lead guitar, drums and vocals.

There is a place for each player.Besides all of that i've just had a look at your playing and you are a brilliant guitarist, very fast fingers on the frets.excelent.Regards Kim

  • Oh yeh, I know what you mean, I could spend no weeks but maybe months to get that solo (supposing I'm able to get it). I was meaning the organ track but I know in the middle of the song the guitar is the more audible. I like a lot this song, also Knocking at your back door, ah and Highway star, that organ solo is great. I liked a lot how you played the intro that I was going to start singing when it finished :( lol

  • Hi reca

Sometime in the future i might have a go at the whole song. You are a great guitarist.Keep up the playing. Best Regards Kim

  • Thanks friend, appreciate that comment coming from a great keyboardist :)

  • Hi, thanks for all the videos you post about the nord c1... I am looking for an hammond clone right in this period and I have to say that I liked this instrument immediately... Anyway, even if you don't usually use distortion, it would be great to hear also some overdriven sound from it (Deep Purple Made in Japan style)... Would you mind doin' this further little effort? It would be very useful for me and for a lot of other people. Thanks a lot!

  • Hi,

The only Deep Purple One that i Know is Child in time and it would take quite a bit of time to learn Jon Lord music. What i can do is have

a mess around on the keyboard with the overdrive on so that you can hear it.

    Best regards Kim.

  • Oh, absolutely, that's exactly what I meant; I'd just like to hear that kind of "screaming" sound, just to have an idea, doesn't matter what you play. Thanks Leo

  • Ok Leo,

I will upload something in the next couple of days.Best regards Kim

  • Hi Kim

What a surprise - first 'Georgia' and now Child in time! Diversity, I would say :-)

    Looking forward to you videos!

    Keep swinging

    Rounder

  • Thanks Rounder

Ive always liked this tune so i thought i would have a go at it.

  • Great man! I just don't like the left hand, it sounds better if you just play the bass, like 888 and G G A F F G, not the chords or power chords.

What's the drawbar config on the upper manual?

    I use 6664, sometimes 5554.

Keep Jon Lord going on on other videos! Have you updated your C1? It seems that the new OS has better overdrive algorithm. I would love to hear it's overdrive cranking like Jon Lord used to use.

Thanks for you videos, all of them are helping me with C1!

  • Thanks, The drawbar settings i use are 747 and second percussion fast ,loud.I dont use the 4th drawbar because the percussion punches through.I was'nt sure about the left hand that is why i played double notes, but i know what you mean about just playing bass.I have the latest update on the nord but did'nt

    use distortion.Regards Kim

  • Hi,

    Left hand quint: GGA... 008 600 000

Right hand: 808 800 000 perc. on, normal, fast, second, reverb

    Greetings

  • Hi,I will have a try with these settings.Thanks

  • It'll not give the percussion loudness it needs IMHO, at least based on the studio version.

Right hand should have less than 8 in some harmonics IMHO.

Kim is on the right way I think.

  • Hi.Its By Deep Purple Jon Lord
