Armoury Show.........carry on boys the show's for free!

  • still reat - after 3-yrs

  • Legends

  • Richard Jobson, Stuart Adamson, Russell Webb & Mike Baillie

  • jobson started to get cockyi i was 15 ssaw jobson with the best lookiin girl i ever seen ... swedish burd beautiful... he was my hero,,,,,but he aint no bob dylan cocky bastard......

  • Wow! You've got some great old stuff...

  • skids doing a gig 6 th march dunfermlin

  • Typical Skids,,,,Brilliant!

  • how cool was richard jobson,,,me sons name sake....a man for all seasons

  • The Skids had many, many great songs, but this is an absolute timeless classic.Stuart was the ultimate guitar hero, a legend who shall never be forgotten.God bless Stuart Adamson.

  • i've always believed that U2 sort of stole the skids thunder. I mean when U2 first came out, I thought "Hey, they sound kinda like an Irish skids" Dont get me wrong I really loved the first 2 U2 albums as well.

  • Anyone remember Speccy Potter meets Monkey McGuire behind Lochore Institute? Now that was filler, but still great nonetheless!

  • Yes - with Stuart's bad language at the end.

  • Ha ha! yes, very naughty of him,but a fantastic riff that many guitarists would die for!

  • Best 'B' was 'Albert Tatlock' :-)

  • What a tune. Filler my arse - and that's not a request. This is the best track on the album (imo)- The Absolute Game btw. Credit also has to go to the work the band put into this performance. Great harmonies while playing intricate riffs - there's still no one like them. Long live the Skids. Stuart Adamsom RIP.

  • Too right "filler my arse" - fucking ace track

  • It's the best song on the record that contained it. (circus games)

  • Brilliant Intro to a brilliant version of a brilliant song, great kick drum sound also

  • A bit of a filler track, truth be told. But he was ahead of his time with the Metro-sexual-where's-my-aftershave? image.

  • Way ahead of it's time ...... almost U2ish high drama, stadium rock yes.

    But a filler track? Never!

  • The vocals are more OMD than U2. But I'm too cowardly to fight my corner.

  • Filler track? No. Stadium rock? Also not. That's the beauty of the Skids - they never got there! Always somewhat cult and original. I mean, I can't see Bono singing "I watched you darken Kipling's lights, I saw you by his throne" and simultaneously saving the world (in the name of himself), can you?

  • This version is just the bollocks. No argument from me about Stuart's playing but the bass line on this is played perfectly and gets more prominant towards the end if you listen for it.

  • Classic track from a classic band fae fife, sign the petition tae bring em back...by the way the special fx man needs shooting!!!

  • i love that intro

  • "dodgy early 80's video effects" - telling me. A bit like a bad acid trip. Great performance though

  • Did you catch the Clyde session tonight?

  • Forgot great song, used to test the mikes and p.a. with this when we had a wee punk band, it made a change from 1,2 1,2

  • Great song (from the third album The Absolute Game) from a great band. God rest you, Stuart Adamson.

  • fantastic stuff from wrexham,s biggest skids fan. bar none. thanks

  • I might as well join in with more scottish 'spelling' too. Gr8 f'ing dance by a Gr8 F'ing frontman-Jobbo. We used to imitate it at the Kinema and Johnsons way back when I was black-Who's scared to dance Eh Clive?

  • remember seeing them at the University of east anglia ....loads of tosser UK subs fans in the crowd kept trapping off... RJ offered the mike to one of them as he went to shout in it,he whacked him in the mouth with it.... nice one.. and yes they were the bollocks

  • One word - AWESOME !

    Thanks for posting

  • Stuart was an amazing singer, songwriter, frontman as well as guitarist. I have all of BC's DVDs, even hard to find European only released ones and he never ceases to astound me with his talent and spirit!

RIP Stu, we miss you a ton!

    dmack

    francesca's brother

  • spot on droog, he was a guitar hero . rip big man.

  • Great song. I get so fed up that Stuart Adamson is only remembered as the "bagpipe guitar man". His guitarwork with the Skids was so awesome and original. One of the most underrated guitarists ever.

  • Nae arguing wi that, Spit.

  • Great fucking song, off great fucking album, by great fucking band!

  • Fine performance from the best band to come out of Dunfermline.

  • At least!

  • there were a few good bands from Dunfermline in those days. Bruce Watson, Stuarts guitar partner in Big Country had a punk band. I think they were called The 30 Bob Suits. I always remember a song they used to do called "Some Cunt Nicked Ma Moped" LOL

  • Sounds magic - I'd buy a record with that title just for the sleeve!

  • As cool as ever. I love this band. It's great to see their profile raised with clips like this. Cheers.

  • One of my favorite skids song.

    Brillant !

  • Superb song! Best on Absolute Game for me. R.I.P. Stuart.

  • Stuart was the best!

  • This is a brilliant song and performance, I wish I'd seen the Skids but they were a bit before my time. Its still good to see the band start to get wider recognition in 2006!

  • They were a bit before their time too.

  • one of my favourite tracks, awesome to see this again!

  • magic :)

  • Unbelievable to see this. Long Live Stuart Adamson. His guitar playing was so ferocious and full of passion, joy and wonder. No one like him ever. Love you, Stuart.

  • Their best album, I reckon. Anybody that doesn't own it should buy it now. Still sounds fresh and original after 26 years.

  • Quite agree - a superb performance from their best album. Stuart is awesome but don't forget the contribution from Baillie and Webb: Flawless. Nothing more - nothing less.

  • Couldn't agree more. Glad someone else noticed.

  • i love the rawness of these versions from the classic Absolute Game LP.

    cheers.
