This is really the perfect finale to the stunning picture that "Crash" is. The scene with the overturned SUV and the little girl getting (Not) shot are of course two of the most amazing scenes I've ever seen, but this is my favorite part of the movie just because the hardest part of making a masterpiece of a film is giving it a great ending. So many movies regress in quality greatly after the first hour, but "Crash" didn't. I kind of wish they had ended the film here before the Chinatown scene.

To me it showed that everyone has capacity for love and compassion, yet some don't realize this until they reach a traumatic moment in their life. We are so caught up in our prejudices and often fail to realize that nearly everyone, regardless of skin color, is seeking happiness and acceptance.

Dillon's character was angry that the black Shaniqua had dismissed his request, and took his anger out on two black people. Officer Hansen didn't like it and requested to be teamed with someone else... then at the end, Hansen picks up a black guy, he sees his shoes are muddy and trousers are ripped and assumes he has a gun, he shoots the black guy... Now who is the racist one? I love this film, very glad it won the oscar for best film.

The point is it applies to every single person on the planet. It's a film about those defining moments in our lives when we discover to our surprise or shame who we really are and what we're made of. It's also about how our lives can change forever depending on how we react in those moments.
