Hands down my favourite movie of all time, such great meaning and so many layers in it. Shows how we’re all connected directly and indirectly. I’d watched it so many times and didn’t realize until a while back that the burning car Terrence Howard is standing in front of at the end is the same car Ryan Phillippe was driving, the guy who in a way saved his life.
At the very end, Bird York also whispers "If you wanna be given everything, give everything up." That makes the song even more profound. She was robbed of the Academy Award for best song in a motion picture.
Listen, this scene is like my bible. Any time in my life I feel bad, I watch it, listen to it, and cherish it. It heals me slowly, and when the song ends, I just magically feel better. I love this with all my heart. Thanks to the whole cast for such a brilliant movie.
This is really the perfect finale to the stunning picture that "Crash" is. The scene with the overturned SUV and the little girl getting (Not) shot are of course two of the most amazing scenes I've ever seen, but this is my favorite part of the movie just because the hardest part of making a masterpiece of a film is giving it a great ending. So many movies regress in quality greatly after the first hour, but "Crash" didn't. I kind of wish they had ended the film here before the Chinatown scene.
It reveals how much we are the same, but yet so different. Touchy feely to a certain extent, but sadly, the racial cultrual differences are exposed big time.
I don't think this is movie only about racism. The color of our skin is something that we see from outside. But people are also so different inside. And sometimes we don't accept someone only because he/she is different from ous.
This movie remember us what really life is, and what is in human nature. No one is apsolutly good or bad. Sometimes we did wrong things unpurposely.
This movie is totaly catharsic. I especially like the scene when Sandra hugs her handmaid. It's so honest embrace...
I thought it was one of the best movie that Ive seen. Life is full of ups and downs. I guess the way we handle our problems and differences is what makes us who we are... This song is so wonderful and fits..

@ares12790 Me too...and to make matters worse, I lost my father (my friend, my strength) on June 15, 2010--he committed suicide. I MISS HIM SO MUCH... the pain is inexplicable...
@EmmaRose473 well im sorry for your loss. I am fortunate to still have my parents. I just wish i could find a girl to fall in love with and vice versa to be honest rather than friends that are not really my friends.
such a beautiful song and such a beautiful ending to such a moving and intelligent piece of film....the part that's shown after this with Ludacris's character is wonderfully ironic as well...easily one of the best movies I've ever seen
This song should've won the Oscar when it was nominated
I loved this movie so much. To me it showed that people judge by race too much. At the end of the day, all race, religions have family just like you... beautiful.. But when i looked up what the movie was actually about. It said nothing about Racial difference.
This movie was meant to reflect on how we are all intertwined.I did a report on it for an ethics course in 07. I watched it like 5 times not because I had to but because I wanted to. Recently I was watching American Idol and I heard this song again....So touching!
I really enjoyed this film and I thought it revealed much about human nature. To me it showed that everyone has capacity for love and compassion, yet some don't realize this until they reach a traumatic moment in their life. We are so caught up in our prejudices and often fail to realize that nearly everyone, regardless of skin color, is seeking happiness and acceptance.
@erlfor5 Truly.... Ultimately were all seeking just that. What's really important to us often gets lost in translation due to the anxieties surrounding just being human.
The movie really is a dramatic realization of this..... amongst others..
Dillon's character was angry that the black Shaniqua had dismissed his request, and took his anger out on two black people. Officer Hansen didn't like it and requested to be teamed with someone else... then at the end, Hansen picks up a black guy, he sees his shoes are muddy and trousers are ripped and assumes he has a gun, he shoots the black guy... Now who is the racist one? I love this film, very glad it won the oscar for best film.
Exactly, that's exactly what I think the film was about. I mention two particular parts of the film, but I was talking about the entire film as a whole.
When you recommend this film to someone do me a favour. Do not tell them it's a film about racism, most of us will be arrogant enough to assume it doesn't apply to us and be dismissive. The point is it applies to every single person on the planet. It's a film about those defining moments in our lives when we discover to our surprise or shame who we really are and what we're made of. It's also about how our lives can change forever depending on how we react in those moments.
ignorance, steryotype, racism the film is about all 3 which in reality is all the same thing!! learn to accept each person forwhom they are not what they look or act like... either way a f**kin classic film xx

"It's the sense of touch.I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something. "

This is one of the best movies I have seen of late. I just hits the soul of anyone who watchs it. This move has a pwerfull message behind it and I think that we all do crash into one another in someway and that we effect each others life.

It's about being at the crossroads of your life, wondering what to do next....after making so many mistakes.
"You think you know who you are; you have no idea."
Being terrified at getting it all wrong again.
At God's mercy, begging for an answer, learning how fragile life is and how frail success is.
Learning how small I am how little I really know.

Michael Moore knew what he was talking about... anyway, beautiful song and beautiful movie! One of my favorites... If you are a human and feel at all, you can't not be moved by this film.

This is one of the best movies I have seen of late. I just hits the soul of anyone who watchs it. This move has a pwerfull message behind it and I think that we all do crash into one another in someway and that we effect each others life.
