I saw a girl today with a beautiful long curly hairstyle; she was around 30ish or so I guess and was attractive too. This looked like an 80s style to me, or very similar if not.

  • THE HAIRSTYLES OF SEXY WOMEN OF THE 80'S IS THE SEXIEST HAIRSTYLES THEN ALL DECADE!

  • The 80's hairstyles rocked in women's and men's styles alike..much of today most men either shave their hair or cut it too short to style it and women would rather go to all the trouble but the look was hot back then!!

  • the one at 0:52 is beautiful

  • 1:15 is my favorite. :)

  • Wow, damn! At 3:38 is a hairstyle I used to have, not knowing it was 80's...bahaha! Looked a little different in style slightly, though. XD I miss the 80's!!

  • love this! hilarious, time travel. oh yes, i was there.

  • the secind girl is fken gorgeous <3

  • Thank you for sharing, there are some beautiful styles here:)

  • damn i wish i lived in the usa in the 80s in england all you saw was shitty little chavs with not enough money to get on the bus thankfully my parents were middle class and you knowwwwww

  • Too sexy Hairstyles of the 80's un like the hairstyles of the 2000's and of the 2010's is too ugly!

  • The three hairstyles I remember the most from the 80s are the Blair look, long and curly, the Jennifer Grey short perm, and the Janet Wood shag (Three's Company).

  • I too was born in 1971 and remember seeing most of these hairstyles. Most girls in high school rocked the perms but music videos and fashion shows showed a lot of these. thanks for the memories.

  • love their earrings and makeup too

  • god i wish these styles were back in style...totally love the short cuts, its too bad that a woman nowadays can't walk out with one without being labeled...

  • These look way better than what they have today...straight boring hair!

  • Fabulous collection! Gave me some great ideas. And as for that 'awful red hair', well, red heads have been around forever, whether or not it was in fashion or not. Fabulous accross range representation, and love the butch punk style additions! Thanks heaps!

  • my favorite time period for hairstyles was the 40's and the 70's I like the soft curls and layered shoulder length types of hairstyles,

  • best hairstyles ever !! the early 80's when girls started chopping their long hair off as the punk revolution hit !! best hairstyles were in the punk clubs !! now every girl has long straight ,boring as hell, hair

  • I have a big 80's haircut and I don't give a damn if it's not fashionable, i LOVE it.

  • if you want to see the best 80s hairstyle, please watch Kim Wilde's "You keep me hanging on" - there she has the most impressive hairstyle in my opinion

  • 7:38 and 7:57 - best hairstyles

  • The Blair hair was the most common hairstyle that I remember women and girls wore, were lived growing up. The parted down the middle, volumed hair was feathered or curled back. One of a good references That I know was from the character Blair Warner on the "Facts of Life." In fact when I look at High school year books from the '80-85, it seems so surreal, because everybody at that time period of the High school level, guys and girls were sporting a bigger or smaller version.

  • OMG yah...I saw just about every one of those styles among my friends in the '80's. Actually 3:00 was mine for much of the '80's and '90's only because my extremely curly hair cut short won't let me do much else!! LOL

I was born in the mid '60's and I'm from the US as well...and those were REAL styles...oh and that gawdawful yellow color...totally '80's!

  • I have got my hair just as 0:50 :D

I love 80's fashion, however I prefere long hair and very voluminized. :)

  • I totally have the hair near 2:04. (except more brownish) I've been told I look like hermione or have a lion's mane lol. we have an eighties dance at school and i don't even have to do my hair for it :)

  • Awesome vid - the versatility was so much more apparent in the 80's - texture, texture, texture and of course tons of volume for all lengths - short, medium, long. Much more of a pow factor than now. I just finished cosmetology school and I spend the majority of my time working on long layered haircuts - and straight (of course). Bring back some beautiful curls and waves- some texture at least.

  • Yes, there was a much greater variety of styles then. I see the same thing in the every day hair of the girls from my yearbooks. They sure put a lot more effort into their daily appearance then compared to today's slobs.

  • I love 80's feathered hair the best. The 80's was an imaginative time wasn't it? lol

  • me encanto este video porque mi madre se identifica con muchos de estos cortes pero hay uno que salio de moda en esta epoca.. que se llamaba estilo gitano realmente no se como es pero si alguien sabe porfavor informenme! grazias!

  • I love my 80's hair & I was born in the 60's & yes all these styles were out there & I"M in the usa ...people were not afraid to have thier own style ..I miss that the most ..today people try to fit in to much ..be your self

  • Well said. Better Impossible :)

  • hey =] do u know how i can get my hair kinda like at 0:22 ... i really want the bangs.. ive tried cutting my hair to make it look like the 80's but i have no clue what im doing.. =[

  • fking a ur so lucky i would have loved to live and be in the 80s 70s 60s >: now if u go outside dresing like that people look at u like ur a freak plus the new music we have now is crap compaired to the music back then >:

  • Yeah, when I pass my old school today all I see is some wierd freakshow. You can hardly tell boys from the girls. It sure wasnt' that way when I was there in the 80s. Then there were lovely girly girls everywhere. If you were to go out dressed like from then it sure would be a hell of an improvement over todays crap. Your right about the music too. p.s. You can see how the everyday girls looked back then from my 80s hair yearbook slidshows on my channel.

  • @flowerpeace1 I agree. It was cool to be different; now it is all about fitting in. I liked the 80s hairstyles and clothing.

  • I was born in 1971 and I do not remember seeing anyone with most of those hairstyles. Also that horrible red hair was not as popular then as it is now; women had more blonde or brunette colours, oh and the perms were short curls or long wavey ones. Fringes were more fluffy looking or long flicks. I don't remember seeing women with the butch hairstyles like they do now, as there seem to be many in this video for some reason. I'm from the UK but even USA had nicer than what is shown here.

  • Some of these cuts are designed more like experimental art pieces than actual "practical" hairstyles you see in everyday life.

  • @AJVGirl AJV, to be honest, you are right and wrong at the same time. These hairstyles wouldve also been featured on tv shows, but that was back when all of tv was like a moving art canvas, not really based on reality or what was practical. So, you are right, hair in the 80's was experimental art. You are wrong though in assuming people ddint try to duplicate these styles, big hair did exist int eh 80's, however, to make this kind of hair wouldve taken alllot of time and money.

  • @EgoShredder: Bzzz...WRONG...I was born in the '60s in the US...those were TOTALLY styles sported by my friends in the '80's!!

I also happened to have a stylist friend who had me sit for her portfolio on several occassions.

  • @EgoShredder .....I agree! I was there back in the day! haha I can tell that some of these are 80s, but some look like early 90s and some look like people trying to go back and re-do an 80s look, but they aren't doing a good job at it.

  • @LivingMindfully1975

Yes I agree... more 90s and 80s re-do gone wrong. Also once every few years I sometimes see a red haired woman done with taste, rather than the rough common, poor quality dye look you see everywhere; it's like the younger version of the dreaded 'blue rinse' bingo going council estate pensioner! Maybe the future sitcoms will pick up on this and parody it to death (fingers crossed).

  • @EgoShredder LOLS! so not true, actually i remember seeing MANY women wearing all these styles & plenty of redheads not just blondes & brunettes; i think it depends on where u live and what country, i was in the usa living in nyc & alot of places in southern cali most of the 80's....dunno about the uk tho maybe it was different there

  • @EgoShredder

These pictures are from hairdresser trade and show magazines - they have "avant garde" sections for new hairdressers to make a name for themselves by demonstrating their creativity and originality.

  • @EdinburghGuy

Fair enough but maybe the title of this video should reflect that. I guess this might seem obvious to some, but not to the every day Joe like myself.

  • omg this makes me wanna go out and get a perm and a can of aqua net..

  • i wanna be born in the 80s!! my mamma was, and she is amazing!!! she listens to all the music i love!! bon jovi, skid row, twisted sister, and posion!!! i love it!!

  • I ADORE 80's hair...

  • What happened to the music?

  • Im just glad I was born in the late 80's

  • Most of these styles are actually still kinda cool. One thing I couldn't stand about 80's hair is when a guys hair was nicer than yours! Give me a guy with a clean cut.

  • 0:44 Yasmin le bon!

  • would anyone here happen toknow how to style hair like Steven Adler from Guns N' Roses cause thats the hair i want but i don't know how to make it like that

like the measurements of the hair

  • in the 80's (well, still) i have super strait, super fine hair and i really couldnt pull off these beautiful hairdos. i will have to say i had, close to :20 and with good perms, 1:28 but i was a headbanger and i hatred the bob on me, so i always wore it like3:00 and lots of hairspray i looked like richard greico in 21 jumpstreet. 5:48 (but not so young) and messy version. wow,,there sure were alot to choose from. these were definetly for the girls who put some time into doing their hair.

  • i wanna have the hairstyle at :23

it's awesome i'm in love with it

  • ahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH XD

  • 2:03 is a female version of Robert Plant I tell you!

  • 3:59

    is my fave!

  • man wats the name of the songz??? i really like it!! btw great vid!

  • Thanks for upload this video!! Is fantastic! I love the 80's :D

  • You're welcome! Glad you liked it :-)

  • Some of my friends who are girls have big 80's hair. They say all the girls who had big in the 80's but don't have it anymore were just trend followers. They were just doing what everyone else was doing. No real love for the 80's. Unless you still rock your big hair and 80's style that makes you a real 80's fan. If you've moved on and you wear the current style of hair

    Your nothing

  • 8:35 Gorgeous !!!!

  • I wish chicks still poofed up there hair like this. my biggest turn on ever!

  • black people hair was so much better

  • can some1 tell me who is the lady at 2:39 and the name of her haistyle...i wud want a haircut just like hers...luv it!

  • omg...is that Suzanna Hoff from the Bangles at 458 seconds? Maybe she was a hair model before she was a singer...looks just like her. check it out.

  • There used to be a hairdresser down along one of our main streets who only did perms and nothing else back in the early 90's (Brandon Terrace). Always seen in padded shoulders, dogtooth pattern jacket - I wondered what happen to her - it seemed a nice little earner at the prices that were being charged (80 to 100 pounds per client).

  • I used to be a hair stylist(late 80's to early 90's...there wasnt a day that went by at work where i wasnt giving some girl a perm...then the 90's hit and all i did was flat iron and straight blow outs. one thing about the 80's though, there was some majorly damaged hair...damaged hair actually performs better for alot of those looks though.

  • ya know...

i've always though the exact same thing. lol.

but it really pisses me off when people say i have scene hair when i have 80's inspired hair with the big mall bangs an everything. haha.

  • man i wish i lived back then......things are so boring these days

we need some boldness like back then

  • True, but we can't live in the past.

  • @AJVGirl but we can still look like it :)

  • @AJVGirl Why not? The fashionworld seems to like to do that a lot, and now with shows like Mad Men it looks like TV likes to live in the past too!

  • i miss these days! i wish these style would come back. some of them r..slowly..but surely!

  • Gotta add, that I watched the whole video and 0:15 is my fav. Now that is one awsome look all around. Thanks for posting.

  • that is pretty kool. ..kinda new-wave-ish :o)

  • Awsome styles. Love it!!! Wish it would come back. It seems to me that hair styles evolved from totally flat in the sixties to outragously big in the 80's. Then it all kind of reversed itself to going flat straight and blah through the late 90's and this decade. Bring back the hair spray y'all.

  • Did you make a video of boys and mens hair from the 1980's too?

  • It would be same video. LOL

  • OK. I was hoping for some hairstyles with male models.

  • The hairstyle at 3:20 looks really cool. Very brave of that model to have her hair done like that

  • I was born in '79 so I remember most of this era. I'm gonna start teasing my bangs again.

  • awesome vid but i wish the music didn't stop so soon or there was a new song after it

  • Thank you! Very sorry about that the "original" songs for this video were "She's a Beauty" by the Tubes, "Girls on Film" by Duran Duran, and "West End Girls" by the Petshop Boys. But were taken off due to copyright.

  • Thank you for making this video. I was born on February 7, 1989, so i seem to have missed the era.

i dig 0:20, 1:32, 2:03, and 6:15 is clearly the origin of DBZ hair.

  • I miss these styles. Jennifer Aniston while on "friends" started the flat straight hair that has been going on since mid 90's. When will it end??? Every woman has a cookie cutter version of this straight flat hair whether longer or shorter. Do any of you ladies think different styles will ever come back??? Much to my dismay I don't!

  • I'm so tired of straight hair too. I'm sooo glad the hair and fashion is coming back, and I know it is because people at school and in town are dressing more like this everytime I go.

  • i've got the bad hair day curse, whenever i wanna get my hair styled it never comes out the way i want,i wanted to get one of these looks since i'm seeing some of them around my school anyway and i'm nervous about it cus i'm worried it won't come out the way i wanted.

  • what kind of hairstyle is at 4:00?

  • Looks like a feathered or layered look. Very early 1980s.

  • Love and miss the 80s hair, especially the the big poofy styles. There are to many good ones here to point out specifically. Back then you had a good chance of seeing a cute well dressed girl with great hair on a daily basis. I wonder what type of reaction would a girl get if she went out in full 80s stlye today. The hair and make up, a nice dress from then, and the spikey pumps with stockings or hose. It sure would an improvement over the today's daily slobs.

  • Man if I saw that, 100% turn on!

  • Yeah, you know it! There's a example of what I'm talking about in the Bangles' video for "If She Knew What She Wants" Susanna's looking good in her blue dress.

  • im black so my hair would of been in a jerycurl

    like MICHAEL JACKSON...

    yeah..:)

  • olease!! where did you get all that!!!!! Im looking for books or magazine from the 80s with hairstyles, I need this pictures please!!

  • thank you for this!!! I love that!!! now a days I hate the hairs!!! I love this styles!! would you send me by mail each pgoto??? where did you get that??

  • oh man, youre missing the jane child look!!

  • You are SICK! Ha ha. love it.

  • I miss the days when curly hair was still cool to have.

  • I totally agree. Especially since my hair is naturally curly :)

  • Meee too! It's so hard to pull off the straight look day in and day out. Most the time, mine ends up in a pony tail, and I say screw it lol.

Thanks for posting! I had to remind myself of the "good old days".

  • omg...why did the 80s die? i love visual kei (japanese type of rock music) and they get their style from our 80s era... i hope the 80s makes a comeback......

  • they have but in a 21st century way. i love the 80's hair and the bright neon colors of clothes and things

  • yes, i like the flash and flare of the 80's too...the GazettE are quite flashy so are Ayabie. they have so much style-are all men (and are NOT gay hahaha) they so totally rock too =D

  • as a male im turned on when chicks do their hair like this...

  • a lot of them i would love to do but i have no idea how to do it lol

  • Some of them are pretty. Others are awesome, but I'd never have the guts to pull them off!
