THE best version of this song EVER! It's a sexy "come out and play" song in her interpretation. Thanks for letting people know that there is more than one version of this song out there.
Annette recorded this for Harmony on September 20, 1929- a number from the lost Warner Bros. two-color Technicolor musical, "Gold Diggers Of Broadway"- and the song was successfully revived by "Tiny Tim" in 1968.....
Wonder what a version of this, sung by Lee Morse would have sounded like, with that unique voice she had.

Face of an angel voice like a blue bird, hence why I have her beautiful face on my homepage here on YouTube. I have this one of her as well.

She is one of those singers who had a great voice and could put a song across. An exceptional vocalist with the beauty to match!

CeltsCam 4 years ago
Hey, sorry I never saw this! It's an automatic Victrola 10-50.

The phonograph is from the days when a music machine was furniture. Stuff from
my childhood.
Annette is great. Had not heard of her before.
She is one of those singers who didn't have a great voice but can put a song across. Ala
Noel Coward, Michael Feinstein, Tony Perkins,
Bobby Short, Elaine Strich, Tammy Grimes...
