  • Thanks. That was a very good and concise explanation of why my gear cams are so noisy. And you described the noise driving you crazy just like you had to ride it for a long time yourself. lol Thanks

  • Brian,

Excellent video. I know you addressed the 08' twin cam issue pretty well. However, I have a 04' dyna stock 88" at 26,000 miles and I was thinking of switching to gear cams. Harley also has a conversion kit to the newer hydraulic tensioners. If it was your bike, which one would you use?

  • Hey, Brian, great stuff ! through much of my own research the chain tensioners on the 99-06 harleys werent that bad of a design,it was the chain that caused all the problems ! when the die that the vendor used to stamp out the chain links got dull it caused a very small burr on the chain ,this is what caused the tensioners to get chewed up, when the die got changed this problem went away

  • There informative video's, but most folks cannot understand "the talk", hands on explanantions in the shop would probably grow your audience

    Cheers

  • Love the podcasts! Just found them this morning and really appreciate the straight talk!

I have an 02 FLSTC with 32k on it and an 05 with 25K on it... and have been worring about the cam chains... What do you recomend for peace of mind?

  • @Luca1500 Heh heh, that's an easy one. Evolution motor, best they ever made!

  • @Luca1500 Pull them apart and check them
