With Turks and some others, history and antiquities are used as a political tool, and many times try to be altered to suit there own goals.

In all the docs I have seen where Turkish so called eperts in archaeology or history in the classics (if they call it classics), always give credit to the Romans but never mention Greek/Hellenic and reluctantly mention Ionian. There is no Greco-Roman mention either. They always say Macedonian and completely neglect Hellenic at all if not in the same same breath. European or North American scholars who appear in these docs always are carefull with their words with Turkish "so called scholars."
