  • Hi Karen! Amazing video! Glad I am finally on youtube ))

  • @majasuave Hi Sweetie!! Glad to see you here.

  • So how long did you have to hold that?

  • I Think at one point he considers your nose/nostril. o_O

  • If that was me, I'd be trying not to laugh. I cannot sit still at all. Though I did have a hummingbird buzz me once because I was wearing a bright red cap. It just popped up in front of my face to say "Hi" and "You're not a flower!"

  • lol, the hummingbird's like tap tap, anyone home? tap tap, maybe the petals will open up & nectar will start spraying for me

  • I had a really brilliant red tractor a few years ago and humming birds would always try to feed from it it was comical.

  • @1foxtrot70 I can imagine they would be attracted to that. Sounds funny.

  • lol! I love how he tests your fingers there. What a smart little fellah. Did you ever encounter him again?

  • @S0XF0X Hi, I probably had him sit on me a few other times. I still go out and hold the feeder and they will eventually come drink or land. It's quite a rush. Best time is during the hour before sunset.

  • when i first saw this i though on billy talent going....I GOT THE HUMMINGBIRD ON MY FINGER!

  • its so cute and cautious

  • I've done that before!! It's soo much fun to see the little cuties sitting on your finger!!

  • u look like emperor palpetine lol :P.. :D hummingbirds r so cute

  • And he's studying you too! Delightful!

  • Wonderful bit of nature you captured there, thank you for sharing it.

  • wow, beautiful colors he has

  • Heh. I don't know if i could hold still long enough.

  • Wow you can really hear the wings flapping very hard.

  • Great video. Wish I could get one to land on my finger. I can feed them out of my mouth and video it but have yet to get them to land on my finger.

  • I looooove doing this! When I was a little girl, my mom taught me to hold hummingbirds like this when we went camping in the New Mexico mountains. :> It was soooo much fun, I've loved them ever since.

Amusingly enough, we always had lots of green-backed, red breasted hummers and ALWAYS one bright gold-red rufous taunting the others in the group. it never failed. XD it was so funny watching the Rufouses zip around and act like the King of the Mountain.

  • lol thts funny keep checking if ur fingers r sturdy lawl

  • love your video!!

    this is just so cool!!

  • Thats so cool!! Love it!

  • Lovely vid!!

  • i walked up to a hummingbird perched on a fence and pet it. Today I found one with a broken wing and it's been sitting on my finger most of the time, then on my stomach and chest. I've been feeding it all day with a eye dropper. I just put it in a box with a hb feeder, for the night.

  • If it has a broken wing you need to get it to a vet urgently! They will treat it for free being a wild bird - it will be suffering!

  • Wow! I didn't know the Grim Reaper had a fondness for cute little hummingbirds. (Just kidding.) ;) Awesome video and it must have been an awesome experience as well! Thanks for sharing.

  • haha, yes I look scary. I think I put that hood on because I didn't want my hair blowing to startle them.

  • LOL. Not scary, really, but just so eerily still. I can't believe you were able to stay so immobile. If I had tried that, my nose would have immediately started itching or something. :)

  • You can do it. You take care of itches when they go away. There's a pattern to their feeding. One minute there's a crowd at the feeder and then the next few minutes you can take break and itch those itches and put your hands down, It's truly worth the little effort to get that close.

  • @blt80blt80 lol u bastard ur comment made me lol with strep throat...ow

  • @blt80blt80 so funny. I thought Unibomber. Very nice clip.

  • Heh... I like the way he hovers right in your face staring you down.

  • Yes, I must keep still!

  • he's so cute!!!^-

  • wonderful! always loved the way hummingbirds flap their wings:-)

  • wow!!

(did u not worry at all about it pecking your eyes / face ???)

  • Hummers aren't really the types to peck. Those tiny little beaks would probably snap off if they tried to peck someone. :<

It's perfectly safe to do this, my mom taught me to do it on our yearly camping trips when I was a kid. It does get a little freaky at first, but once you relax, it's so much fun! hehehe

  • This is unbelievable! I have never seen hummingbirds in real. It is absolutely amazing! BTW, Gae told me about you. All of your videos are incredible! :) I am definitely subscribing it and favoritizing this movie clip.

  • Grandiosoooooooo!!!!!! una experiencia unica, eres muy afortunado!!!!!! Felicidades

  • muchas gracias!

  • This is just un believeable. I have only seem HB's 2x both in CA. I live in FLA. Where is this taken? It must have been all you could do to stay perfectly still! Great!! Thanks!!

  • Seems YOUTUBE's Comment System had a bit of a hick-up when posting my ONE comment...maybe BOOMBELLA can delete the 'repeats'??? I can't... ALL your videos are simply WONDERFUL!

  • How absolutely precious! What an awesome experience it must be to have one of these little miracles of nature perching on your finger! You are truly special! SMILE!

  • This video is so awesome.

  • Thanks for the visit!

  • these little birds are so sweet I could hear her little wings as she was getting drinks!

  • Yeah, it's really a trip from close up because you can feel the wings as well.

  • cool! we have hummers here in oklahoma and i enjoy feeding them!peace out!

  • I kept moving my mouse while I was watching this, and it looked like he was flitting away from the pointer. They're cut little things though.Teeny-tiny.

  • those darn hummingbirds smell sugar a mile away.

  • True, he is a little freaked out by me. I had not gone out there to stand in a long time so the local hummers were no longer used to me.

  • he cant decide weather to sit or not

  • Don't cha just love those little "sugar buzzards"? lol
