are the bjj techniques that you learn in mma just basic bjj techniques or do you get to learn more advvanced bjj techniques the more advance you get ?

The reason to this question is because i have a pretty good solid stand up game boxing/muay thai but i need a solid ground game , should i go for bjj or mma ??

there are no advanced techniques. only up down left right or a combination as such. - Fundumentals can be explaind but you must learn the feel yourself. such as posture, base, head control exc.

at higher lvls the techniqes are the same, they just use mentalism to beat there oponents. via knowing what there oponent is thinking, when there thinking it, and using that element against them. (such as a in boxing fainting ot get them to block then kicking them in there exposed ribs)

Honestly i love BJJ. i've been training BJJ for 1year now, and learning the fundamentals of positioning will help you improve fighting on the ground. Once all the fundamentals are learned it just takes repetition and once they are put together the attacks are basically simple and easy to see. chokes, locks, and sweeps will all follow with good fundamentals. so take BJJ i will gaurantee you that you wont regret it, and you will learn to love it because its a different animal. :) Good luck.

yeah i lost my gold to the fact that i was escaping a triangle choke and the ref tought i was taping when i was simply snaping the guys leg on ground and push through.. he tought i was choking and cost me a gold....at my last competition i am so pissed... took silver though but fuck that... i wast taping... wasnt even that hard of a triangle... fucksake.... u are right... some of them are fucking incompetent.
