  • Outstanding. I got myself the O-Katana from Cheness. It cuts cleanly strait through a Barrel Cactus with ease. All you desert rats should really go out and destroy some cactus in the desert, so much fun.

  • And I like ur sandals lol

  • It's funny bc ur never going to a samurai or something

  • cool! looks like you are having fun, and that's the point, isn't it?

  • I thought you were talkin about the sword

  • Thanks for your comment i appreciate it.You live in japan?,that is awsome!

  • @billvw1974 not anymore its not

  • @TownPiligan14 What are you talkin about?

  • @TownPiligan14 which one do you think is the best buy ?

  • @billvw1974 which what? I was making a comment about living in japan

  • geta**

  • why oh why are you wearing yukata and get while doing tameshigiri... I can understand the yukata, but cutting while wearing geta is very dangerous... but all in all a fair video.

  • @kenshiliamateseru yukata was comfortable in hot summer... the grass was wet so geta seemed like a good choice... i don't think that geta are far more dangerous than any other shoes... may be just running with them...

  • i have got a cheness too but not the tenchi. say, if u hold a paper in one of ur hand and ur sword in the other one would ur sword cut the paper be4 the paper bends?

i have got kurome (cheness also 9260 sp.steel) and i cant do that. does it mean that its not sharp enough or its k if my sword cant do that? sry for my eng...

  • @ImaCSGamer i have never tried it do you mean like these? (watch?v=8F0iqPGybiE or watch?v=GwQtgLhUrmA) i guess it is more about cutting style than sharpness, coz i can cut paper even with knife if i do it right way... but of course if your sword is not sharp at all than... from my tests the tenchi was really sharp from the factory... but you can polish it yourself up to "Safety blade" level :-)

  • @RienSatori i mean like this: watch?v=GwQtgLhUrmA i thogutht i could do that too. im doubting if its sharp or not ^^. i would never polish it by myself ... got no knowledge.

p.s. r u able to touch the edge w/o cutting urself? im able to do that and thats normal, right?

  • @ImaCSGamer i was able to do that... the trick is that you always need to have not just vertical movement but also horizontal... but also depends on the type of paper (lighter paper bends easier)

p.s.: yes, it is normal to touch the blade without cutting yourself :-) even "Safety blade" doesn't cut you if you don't slide your fingers :-) but when you do slide it should cut you (be carefull :-)

  • @RienSatori why should i need horizontal if i wanna cut it from up to down (vertical cut)

  • @RienSatori could you give me your opinion on the cheness tenchi?,Id really like one but i want to make sure my money is well spent.

  • @billvw1974 hi... at the time i bought the sword it was the best buy considering price/quality... i guess that not much changed, but i cannot give you recent advice... but i can assure you that i was really satisfied when i uploaded this video... since that time the sword remains in europe and i live in japan, so i didn't use it too much...

  • @RienSatori does it need any special maintenance because of rust?

  • Just wanted to know how is this Katana. Is it really amazing? does it have some flaws?is it really sharp?

  • @SuperAtzzz I am not expert, but from my point of view for the money it is perfect... Just search for some better reviews than my :-)

  • All the gear...... No idea ! all the cash you spent on that stupid outfit should have been spent on lessons! I'm amazed if you are still all in one piece with "form" like this!

  • @mick2slick come on.... 1) the outfit was present 2) i have other hobbies (which i enjoy more) so lessons will come when it will be a priority, at that time I was satisfied just with having nice sword, so don't tell me what i already know 3) actually the stupid outfit is comfortable for leisure time and so much more usable than the katana (as i wrote before it doesn't come together) 4) read the comments before you post something

  • daaang know thats a legit katana!! how much do those run buy??

  • first of all... educate yourself on the proper katana techniques either by going to a nearby kendo or iaido school or, as a last resort, by looking at some iaido dvd-s.

second... loose the gata. they are just an obstruction in learning the proper stance and foot placement.

third... the daito (katana) is so sharp that there is no need to swing it like a baseball bat. if there was someone walking behind you you would seriously injure them.

    p.s. That's a very nice daito. I'm jealous :)

  • @ivanovivan11

first af all... i know that i should learn but i am pro in different sports and don't have time for everything...

second... you really believe that i practice in that? just the grass was wet and geta fits to yukata...

third... of course i took precautions (as nobody was expected to be in the garden except me and some cats...)

    p.s. thanks for comment...

  • You are not really a cutter are you?

  • @trvekvltBurzum No I am not, as I stated before... But thanks for watching :-)

  • @RienSatori You welcome. With some practise , you could be a great cutter,

  • Why did you choose the Tenchi compared to some of the other 9260's?

  • @meitzmagic It is already 3 years since I bought this one. I wanted best katana up to price 300USD, hand made, solid steel, able to cut anything, with good reviews and delivery time up to 1 week within US. When I searched at that point (about 10 hours reading and comparing), Tenchi looked like a best buy according to all reviews and my comparisons. There might be some better pieces out there now, but I guess there is a lot more new info on the web too. Just search for it.

  • :-)

  • Dude, what the hell are you wearing, a bath robe and tatami sandles?!.....

  • @RocketNothing :-) as I remember, that was "geta" and men's "yukata"... sure it isn't the best wear for playing with katana, but ideal stuff for hanging out in the garden on a hot day :-)

  • @RienSatori Ha ha can't deny that my friend! And nice sword, are those cheness swords really as good as people say they are?

  • @RocketNothing I believe so... I did prettty extensive research on the web prior buying this afordable, but good katana... But I haven't tried cutting anything more than some soft stuff...

  • I like the jammies and sandals you are wearing! yeah, just kidding the traditional japanese samurai robes are authentic and purposeful and look great in battle, especially with armour.

  • I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself. You walked up to the sword, while it was balancing on the stump, and you weren't looking at it while the sword blade was facing you at 1:23; to say nothing about wrapping your hand and holding the blade, and then turning the blade toward your body while pressing down on it. If it had slipped, that would have been very, very bad. Good luck with your training ;)

  • Thanks far watching... Don't worry, at 1:23 it looks close but thats just wrong perspective of the camera... As I heard many stories about people cutting themselves, I am not gonna do the same mistake even being beginner :-)

  • They say practicing golf has a very positive effect on your swinging of a katana. You don't appear to be playing golf I see.

  • you're an odd fellow. I have that too, $250 from sbg

  • u know it dosnt matter if u know how to use it or not u have a vary forgive blade ivon if u make a mistake and as long as u get the job done itsm ore than fine

  • What is this business about Muramasa swords being evil?

  • beautiful garden and katana!

i really want the a 9260 series sword cuz it can take extreme punishment and still cut great.

    you're a lucky man

  • nice japanese botanical backyard! do you live in Japan?

  • actually I do temporary live in Japan, but the botanical backyard is in the heart of Europe - in the Czech Republic :-)

  • that's nice! I have always wanted to visit Czech Republic. thank you for commenting back & the video.

  • I live in the Czech Republic and was trying to get the Tenchi katana here, but found no dealer here..... Did you get your tenchi by post?

  • Yes, by post...

  • Nice sword, shame you dont know how to use it. Do you play baseball?

  • I do judo since childhood, it's pity that there was no kendo club around when I started with martial arts... Don't do baseball (coz the number one sport in Czech is ice hockey so that's what you do when you learn how to hold a stick (opposite to baseball bat in US :-)

  • Pěkně to uťal no:-D

  • Nice video. Great affects.

The Tenchi is a great sword. Mine is the favorite in my collection.

  • Cool vid, looks like you had some fun with it. ^_^ I liked the fading in trick too, nicely produced video.
