As much as I hate jet2's high fares (compared to RYN/EZY/MON). I admire them for allowing to keep their 737 classics in the fleet. Depsite their old age.

The 737-300's are great aircraft for short routes, which is why bmibaby/luthansa and BA continue to use them.

Newer aircraft will likely save them fuel costs and maintenance in future and help their appalling punctuation. Theymust also concentrate on caring for it's customers rather than how much cash they receive.

You were very lucky to be flying on a 737-200. Today you would have to travel to africa/south america or canada to fly in of of those.

That aircraft; G-CEAH first flew in 1975. In 2007 it was a 32 year old jet. It is currently in storage due to EU noise/emision regulations. Will probably fly for an exotic carrier or parts used for other aircraft (scrapped).

We've got great flight times with Jet2 again this year, 7am depart from Man - 11 am depart from Ibiza, that way we get all of the first day, and don't have to leave Ibiza when everyone is getting ready to gout =D

You put "Finals" it is wrong. Final is the correct RW ATC speech (S1 Controller here) haha. So many people call it final"s" haha. Thought i would point that out.

They clap because it takes year and years of training to fly a plane, and when a pilot performs a safe, gentle landing they clap, almost like in football when they score a goal everyone cheers, well its the same for planes.! *successful landing. BTW in this case they clapped because we had turblence very bad on approach and people where sh*tting themself, because of the Gforce - it was amazing..!:)

heya actually it doesnt necessarily take years and years to train to be a pilot you could actually do it in a year or two depending how intensely you study and how often you can fly. oxford aviation's app course is only a year and a half long:)im going to be a pilot so i agree totally with your comment...i wouldnt mind an old clap for one of my landings lol :D

Hey, And we had the option to depart from a airport of our choice, there was MANCHESTER, LEEDS, EAST MIDLANDS or HUMBERSIDE.

But the cheapest was from Manchester, we only live like 40mins away from Manchester airport and we have always loved manchester so we just decided to fly from Manchester, plus there airport is amazing. Also not every airport flys to the same destination thats probley why you didnt get to travel from leeds, it all depends on airports routes..
