The guy pops off the terminators chip cover with a screwdriver like some paint tin lid? A huge terminator fan and not expecting Hollywood like efforts from a series but this is pathetic and never watched it before now. Check out the T2 chip removal scene (not featured in some versions) As you would expect from an advanced future cyborg designed to withstand a whole range of punishment the most important part being its brain is a lot more protected than just pop it off there no problems
but in the second movie the t800 played by swartzeneger kind of learned feelings about humans and he was sad because he had to selfdestruct but he loved john connor like a son when he said "now i understand why humans cry but that's sometning i will never be able to do" he didn't cried tears but t800 summer glau didn't cried tears either so i say it was ok but not better than any terminator movie
What skynet lacked was planning abilities. Had they sent three terminators back in the first movie and just had them work together, they would have killed Sarah Connor and they wouldn't have whiney little bitch terminators later. THEY ALSO LACK DISCIPLINE!

@Killery96 sorry but I have to disagree with you - Cameron was a far more advanced model then Arnold - she was created to take in human emotion and then exploit it, learn from it, grow with it, interpret it in her own "sense" and use it at her will - the way she played John using "human emotion" was absolutely brilliant. This powerful scene alone is my favorite out of the entire Terminator franchise.
@Killery96 Cameron crying is no more shame to Arnold then the T-1000's abilities are..Skynet is making more advanced human like terminators.,Crying is something the T-800 could never do but the T-800 also can't imitate anything it touches ect.
From cold and calculating robot, to warm, explosive emotion in just a matter of seconds, Summer Glau is amazing. Best Scene in the entire series. Fox wouldn't know good programming if it bit them on the proverbial.

Dammit. I got so sucked in by this series (I bought the DVD:s and had a T:SCC marathon the last few days) that it felt a bit like a personal loss when it was over. Not many movies or TV series have affected me like this before. I think what I liked the most about the show was the evolving John Connor/Cameron relationship.
this scene is so sad. they treat cameron like shit even though she saves their asses so many times. his mom is so jealous of her. cameron really cares about him. it's not just programming. with artificial life like her, who would ever want a real woman?? ditch that ugly riley bitch and go for the titanium hottie who loves you!
@oregonflatland Its a shame the show was done away with. They just started getting into her self awareness at the end. It would have been a REAL interesting concept to explore for this series. Salvation had Marcus but he was human to begin with. A full on machine feeling emotions would have been great.
On a side note, why does Fox have to ruin good shows? Hell, Arrested Development and Futurama rank on my top 10 list. This show found a place there but dammit Fox...
yeah you're right. it had a lot of potential and was going in the right direction. john obviously cares about her at the end he's so desperate to get her back he goes into the future with the T1000. cameron is designed to exceed her programming kind of like data on star trek. if we had machines like this, i think there really is no way to stop people from bonding with these machines they are so lifelike. real women will become obsolete lol.
@oregonflatland It was really just a matter of time before we hit this point in the series. In T2 and 3, John had obvious attachments to the t-800 and 850. They also seemed to hit sentience towards the end. This would also be a good way to end Skynet. Some machines like Weaver obviously hit self awareness for a rebellion to start. Now if James Cameron finished the second trilogy, it might be a concept for them to explore with or without a conclusion to TSCC. In any case, I'll check those out
yeah weaver was interesting. not sure why cameron was so upset when she asked 'will you join us?' they did a great job of exploring that theme on the show of the resistance working with the terminators, even sending riley back to pull conner away from cameron was a brilliant twist and cameron was definitely jealous of riley lol. the idea that some machines don't want to be part of skynet is something the movies never explored. i read recently arnold may sign up for T5.
I think her reaction was more shocked at the question than anything since it was Weaver on the sub. When John asked her (in the future), she said no to an alliance. However, when John Henry posed the question, she seemed shocked and didn't hesitate. The opportunity missed once, she wasn't going to let it slip up again.
As far as T5 goes, I doubt we'll see her. I love the idea of time travel in this movie but I also hate it. I don't think she'll appear in what's movie canon.

as for T5, i think it should take place after salvation. no more time travel. i just want the future war, but this time it should be more dark and brutal, like saving private ryan in the future, with women and children blown to bits and people eating rats in the trenches like in the first movie. salvation made it look like a stay in the hilton hotel.

However, I will say the way they set the series up, having Salvation be both a sequel and prequel was pretty cool. But yes, I do hope T5 is darker than the last. But time will tell. Alot of great shows get cancelled because people just don't watch, especially these shows with continuous plots. Missing one episode can ruin the whole show for you. What executives should realize it that while shows like this are risky on TV, they rake in BIG dollars in DVD sales. I watch nothing but these types of serial shows on Netflix.

It wasn't fully explored because the show was canceled but over time Cameron was slowly becoming more and more human, disobeying things such as "this person knows John, where he lives etc she needs to be terminated". It broke my heart the series stopped at season 2, look, if you guys really had gave it a try you will know what you've shutdown here, a quiet decent peice of collection that expands the story, giving us more taste from this classic world for cyborges, this really could have been a larger work of fantasy for us fans. I've ignored the whole series for a year and when I finally picked it up, it's pretty dead, if you liked it, you would come back to rewatch it and feel pity for how shortly it lived.

A lot of criticism about her acting "too emotional", but that was the point. This particular Terminator was specifically designed to mimic human emotion in order to capitalize on our emotions and sentimentality, she's not the same was the other T-800 models that are more robotic. That's part of the reason skynet modeled her after a small, young and pretty girl as well.
It's what's supposed to make the scene somewhat unnerving, because it's a very effective trick.

Marcus Wright. He is the character from the movie "Terminator Salvation". Actually these guys are talking about two different stories. John Brancatto and Michael Ferris took a different direction because they continued what they had written for Terminator 3: the rise of the machines for Jonattan Mostow.
These people from the "Chronicles", Josh Friedman and company, took on a atotal different direction and story lines with these characters. Btu both stories are great!

This woman doesnt act enough like a machine to be convincing for me. She shows way too much emotion for a terminator. Every terminator in the films always had a cold machine feel about them, you could really believe that they were killing machines. I never felt that way with this person.

@FROZENCH0SIN They did try. People just were not watching the show. His quote was rude though. Alot of great shows get cancelled because people just don't watch, especially these shows with continuous plots. Missing one episode can ruin the whole show for you. What executives should realize it that while shows like this are risky on TV, they rake in BIG dollars in DVD sales. I watch nothing but these types of serial shows on Netflix.

@FROZENCH0SIN U might wanna say fuck james cameron. The show was actually terminated because cameron sold the rights for the new movie and they didnt want the series to screw the plot line up so bad that they couldnt make a new trilogy. Besides when they were sending terminators into the 1920's the show kinda ran its course and jumped the shark... u might wanna thank the writers for that one. I still enjoy the series and think it could be salvaged with the right director and writers.

How the hell did I get through this scene again? The first time I watched it, I was scarred! It was like washing down a nail with car battery acid! I know it was all a show, put on so she could get out and tear John's head off, but it killed me to see this!
And now I must kill myself, for I have gone soft and effected by emotional scenes in TV shows (but then, its not so much emotional scenes as it is emotional scenes with hot cyborg chicks, so I'll kill myself for becoming a nerd I guess XD).

I think this series is stupid, we got a Terminator getting emotional!?! WTF. Hollywood is destroying every franchise going by stylizing them and focusing them mainly towards "Relationships" and giving them a "Soap" style, becus they think this is what the younger generations want. This concept may hav work quite well with Smallvile, but it hasnt worked with this, which is exactly the reason y the Series is at risk of being completely cancelled.

It wasn't fully explored because the show was canceled but over time Cameron was slowly becoming more and more human, disobeying things such as "this person knows John, where he lives etc she needs to be terminated". She was beginning to exibit signs of what can only be called emotion, and not as a tool to fool anyone either.

It broke my heart the series stopped at season 2, look, if you guys really had gave it a try you will know what you've shutdown here, a quiet decent peice of collection that expands the story, giving us more taste from this classic world for cyborges, this really could have been a larger work of fantasy for us fans. I've ignored the whole series for a year and when I finally picked it up, it's pretty dead, if you liked it, you would come back to rewatch it and feel pity for how shortly it lived.

When I first saw it some weeks ago, I had to pause the DVD and try to digest what I had just heard! Wow, what a climax for the intensity of this moment! And it still gets to me every single time I watch it :')

A lot of criticism about her acting "too emotional", but that was the point. This particular Terminator was specifically designed to mimic human emotion in order to capitalize on our emotions and sentimentality, she's not the same was the other T-800 models that are more robotic. That's part of the reason skynet modeled her after a small, young and pretty girl as well.
It's what's supposed to make the scene somewhat unnerving, because it's a very effective trick.

@mexicanguy43 no marcus was a test model a perfect infiltrator but sky net couldnt recreate that design so they had to improve on the bio construction of the skin and insides of there terminators to make them close to what marcus was like giving them sensitivity like touch or being able to feel the wind and stuff like being able to cry and eat there close but not to close cose marcus was only found out cose his chest was blown open and he could heal very fast

Marcus Wright. He is the character from the movie "Terminator Salvation". Actually these guys are talking about two different stories. John Brancatto and Michael Ferris took a different direction because they continued what they had written for Terminator 3: the rise of the machines for Jonattan Mostow.
These people from the "Chronicles", Josh Friedman and company, took on a atotal different direction and story lines with these characters. Btu both stories are great!

This woman doesnt act enough like a machine to be convincing for me. She shows way too much emotion for a terminator. Every terminator in the films always had a cold machine feel about them, you could really believe that they were killing machines. I never felt that way with this person.
