that was a pretty epic battle against that spider thing. I just let him chase me to a door way, he couldn't fit trough, so I put 4 bullets in his skull. waste of ammo I guess, but it did the trick.
cause the nurses move fast. i went up to the one from the last video with the axe and did a power shot (full strength) and thought she was dead, but she got right back up and started tearing me up with her knife. your attacks are alot slower with the axe and unfortunately do not do that much damage.
wrong ...silent hill exists as a "usual" village but it brings evil things to life that people there have in their heads .... so shepard is just exploring the past while he fights against his own guilt and anger that has come to life in SH ....

Yeah, that monster is meant to. That's what I love about SH; all the monster are symbolic to the characters in the game. It's worth checking it out on wikipedia, it's quite interesting :)
You know what would make the new monster sightings so much better? No cutscenes. Seriously. Every time you're about to run into something cool, a cutscene plays. "Oh, right on. So I'm about to fight something new." If you just walked into the hallway and Pyramid Head walzted his freakish ass around the corner, it would be much more "Holy fuck what is Pyramid Head doing here!" rather than "Oh hi Pyramid Head."
I never actually played SH2. I was a fan from 3 and up and if I had the right systems I would play them all again. I've seen alot of videos though. I've thought this about every game I've ever played that try to get the jump on you. Shit, movies too. "Don't make it so obvious that you're about to try to scare the piss out of me. Just scare the piss out of me as realistically as possible."
That's true.. but then, when I play games like this (which is rare, because I'm easily scared), I spend the entire cutscene worrying and freaking out that soon, the cutscenes gonna end and I'm gonna have to face that thing somehow. Maybe not with the smaller enemies, but with something like Pyramid Head, it freaks me out to no end.
I like being shocked and confused. I've said it, thousands of others have said it, and the officials behind design have said it. The bond between reality and virtual simulation is the atmoshphere. The lighting and use of graphics in the game is classic SH as ever. It's creepy. However, the more realistic the better, and cutscenes just drop my enthusiasm.
Ever played SH4? Remember when you first run into the twin head baby victims? No warning. There's just 4 or 5 of them standing at the end--
--if a dark hallway, pointing at you with their fat fingers. Was excellent. There was no warning that I was about to get mauled by a deformed, grotesque looking, twin head baby walking on it's hands.
Holy shit, that sounds terrifying. I'm gonna have to check that out... To be honest, that sounds scarier. But I'd be scared either way: I' a wuss, after all.
Which is the best Silent Hill in your opinion? I've only played a bit of one, which was in an amusement park, but I can't remember which one it is. Was totally put off by the girl and the annoying voice acting, whichever one that is. This one does look beautiful though..
Twin Baby Thing is probably one of the favorite SH monsters to fans, just because of how fucked up they are. Sadly, I've only played a bit of 3 and all of 4, so I couldn't say which is the best. I've seen videos and read some of the lore behind 1 and 2, and they all seem bad ass. Even with the original's shitty graphics, I could tell by the videos that the producers did a fantastic job.
The best SH I think is the 3rd. Many times during the game I was so freaked out by the different scenaries and places that Heather must go through to escape from the town.

My initial reaction was: SHIT IT'S PH. Then Alex ducked and I thought, ok, everythings ok now. D: Then PH turned and I thought "omg can he smell blood? D:>" But when he went on and Alex stood up again, I really thought PH would try to come after him from behind. xDDD
PH was probably thinking in that brief moment: "Hey.. You didn't say anything incredibly stupid, such as 'what the...' --You can't be James!"
Then he delved into furious logic as to just how he's supposed to be able to exist when he was supposidly a creation of James Sunderland's psyche, representing his sexual frustration, and his inner exicutioner.
that one part with the spider metal thing it was best to duck under one of those doors that you went through.they can get through them and i shot them in the head...lol it seemed to work....hhaha but i needed one more bullet to kill the last one.
There's an easier way to kill the needler. Go through the door and a bit down the stairs, then shoot it. ^.~ it can't go through the door with it's weird legs.
If he did see him, I think he would've tried to skin him or somethin. He probably just sensed something was around. That or he did see him and sent his bugs after Alex instead of doing it himself.
I'm sure he did, but he didn't attack for a reason. PH is more than just a killing machine. He didn't attack because he doesn't want Alex dead. He wants Alex to realize his guilt and move on, just like James.
lol, these are great walkthroughs. The only recommendation is Akira Yamaoka's in game noises and creepy sounds are there to mess with your head and dont necessarily mean theres monsters. Does it all the time in SH3, I found myself laughing after a while lol.
All the guys saying the appearance of PH is fanservice are way off. He appears in SH2 for a reason, and that's to punish James for killing Mary. And the same applies in this game (SPOILER ALERT, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK), he appears here because he has to punish Alex for killing Joshua. It only appears in these two games because they are the only SH games in which the main character has killed someone before the events of the game. Don't include Origins, the one there's not PH, it's The Butcher.
but pyramid head isn't technically called pyramid head in this game either. hes "the boogeyman." that to me makes no sense at all. he is pyramid head and always will be. he still looks sick as hell, even if i don't really agree that he should be in this game at all. but oh well.
Well, if we're gonna get technical, he's called Pyramid Head in SH2 simply because James decides to call him that. In Homecoming, no one ever says his name, it only appears in his ending as "The Boogey Man", probably because it scares the shit out of you when he appears. Of course he wouldn't be called Pyramid Head here because James nicknamed him like that.
and if you want to get REALLY technical his name is actually Red Pyramid. But, like so many others, I prefer the name pyramid head too, way it's creepier :)
Isn't PH like a permanent resident at silent hill? I'm pretty sure he represents the reaper, taking lives that deserve it. Or something of that sort. And the people that have killed others close to SH get sucked into the demented 'otherworld' because the animosity of SH kind of seeks out wacko's lolz. Idk, I was just thinkin'.
I think it's just because the japanese company that owned silent hill sold it to an american company. Their idea's for the game are now derived from the movie, and copying things from the previous games, nothing like the pure terror the japanese writers could come up with...

hey guyz , I have a problem; everytime I get to the part where I have to "jump across" , I jump and alex slowly slides into the hole..and I die and I have to do it all over again and the result is the same..I've tried like 6 times.can someone help me with the next save game so I could start from there..I have it on PC
during the elevator ride, it was dark, and he can only see part of the needler(the spider things). so he was not sure what he was facing, that's why at a later part, where Alex managed to have a clear view of it, they added in a special cut scene.
Okay, so I hear a lot of whining about he changes to PH and how it's not relevant to the game... but did anyone notice that the Great Knife now resembles a COMBAT knife, not unlike the one Alex carries? Alex has, like all SH characters, a lot of baggage. Who's to say he doesn't feel a need to punish himself?
Not only that, but PH is so much a part of Silent Hill's history, is it so surprising that it manifests itself the similar ways?

Ugh. It makes me angry that they brought pyramid into this game just please the fanboys/girls. He was suppose to be an extension of James' psyche, punishing him for what he did. He's not suppose to be here. And I know, I know. Executioners and all that, but still, it just cheapens the whole thing.

Actually, he's supposed to be linked with the cult as the executioner... making it kinda sorta ok for him to be there... But I agree: having him here (and in the movie) diminishes the beauty of his significance in SH2.
Not necessarily, because those aren't the same PHs. They may look similar, but each Pyramid head has it's own special meaning and significance. if you think of it that way, the original PHs will never loose their original purpose. And besides, all the other PHeads are just posers. :P
The original purpose of those who wore the robe of Valtiel and the red hoods was that of executioner. Every depiction since then has revolved around this concept. In SH2, his significance was made into something extraordinary, almost beautiful. He's been rated one of the scariest bosses of all time. Using him again and again, even with design tweaking, seems like a lack of original ideas. "You can't create something new to pick up the mantle?" It makes it feel like fan service, not a new game.
Now see, it's obviously Pyramid Head. Regardless of the reasons why, whether he fits into the plot or whether the fangirls wanted him back, that's definitely the same guy who's in SH2.
So why the differences? He looks better, sure, he's on a 360 now. But the helmet is markedly different, as is the Great Knife, and his helmet isn't causing him discomfort.
I hate to say what so many others are saying, because I really *want* to like this game, but he looks more like the one in the film :(

actually, the whole point in 2 is that nobody can see others' versions of SH. only James can see Angela's hell, and that's when she's gonna die, the strongest moment.

no, This is different (oddly enough) from the events that happened in 4. In 2, when you get to the apartment, near the dumpster there's a newspaper that talks about walter seeing the red executioner= pyramid head. It makes perfect sense, seeing as it's the first level you see him. Priests would make no sense to the story's plotline in that game.
it'd make perfect sense if it didn't especified that the red devil is the priest who taught Walter about the cult.
and it does make sense, since Walter becomes one to perform the whole ritual. He takes the role of the priest who works to bring god -or mother in the case- to the world
we're talking about what Walter saw before the events of 2, priests have nothing to do with this game. Walter saw pyramid head and the newspaper, plus the fact that your AT the apartments where you first see him is proof enough.
the "Red Devil" is actually Jimmy Stone. He was the one who rebuilt the cult to include the Red God, Valtiel. Jimmy Stone and George
Rosten are later killed by Walter, but as we know, in SH death ain't the end, especially for brutal bastards who built a sect around unwilling human sacrifices -like what happened in SH4.
and no, it's not proof enough. It has no relation with the Red Devil

If he did see him, I think he would've tried to skin him or somethin. He probably just sensed something was around. That or he did see him and sent his bugs after Alex instead of doing it himself.

I'm sure he did, but he didn't attack for a reason. PH is more than just a killing machine. He didn't attack because he doesn't want Alex dead. He wants Alex to realize his guilt and move on, just like James.

lol, these are great walkthroughs. The only recommendation is Akira Yamaoka's in game noises and creepy sounds are there to mess with your head and dont necessarily mean theres monsters. Does it all the time in SH3, I found myself laughing after a while lol.

All the guys saying the appearance of PH is fanservice are way off. He appears in SH2 for a reason, and that's to punish James for killing Mary. And the same applies in this game (SPOILER ALERT, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK), he appears here because he has to punish Alex for killing Joshua. It only appears in these two games because they are the only SH games in which the main character has killed someone before the events of the game. Don't include Origins, the one there's not PH, it's The Butcher.

but pyramid head isn't technically called pyramid head in this game either. hes "the boogeyman." that to me makes no sense at all. he is pyramid head and always will be. he still looks sick as hell, even if i don't really agree that he should be in this game at all. but oh well.

Well, if we're gonna get technical, he's called Pyramid Head in SH2 simply because James decides to call him that. In Homecoming, no one ever says his name, it only appears in his ending as "The Boogey Man", probably because it scares the shit out of you when he appears. Of course he wouldn't be called Pyramid Head here because James nicknamed him like that.

Isn't PH like a permanent resident at silent hill? I'm pretty sure he represents the reaper, taking lives that deserve it. Or something of that sort. And the people that have killed others close to SH get sucked into the demented 'otherworld' because the animosity of SH kind of seeks out wacko's lolz. Idk, I was just thinkin'.

I think it's just because the japanese company that owned silent hill sold it to an american company. Their idea's for the game are now derived from the movie, and copying things from the previous games, nothing like the pure terror the japanese writers could come up with...

hey guyz , I have a problem; everytime I get to the part where I have to "jump across" , I jump and alex slowly slides into the hole..and I die and I have to do it all over again and the result is the same..I've tried like 6 times.can someone help me with the next save game so I could start from there..I have it on PC

a.) they give it a special cut scene introducing it like a new monster
b.) Alex seem so surprised that the monster even existed? It's not like he never saw it before.

during the elevator ride, it was dark, and he can only see part of the needler(the spider things). so he was not sure what he was facing, that's why at a later part, where Alex managed to have a clear view of it, they added in a special cut scene.

Okay, so I hear a lot of whining about he changes to PH and how it's not relevant to the game... but did anyone notice that the Great Knife now resembles a COMBAT knife, not unlike the one Alex carries? Alex has, like all SH characters, a lot of baggage. Who's to say he doesn't feel a need to punish himself?
Not only that, but PH is so much a part of Silent Hill's history, is it so surprising that it manifests itself the similar ways?
I don't hear you groaning about seeing the nurses again. >P

Actually, he's supposed to be linked with the cult as the executioner... making it kinda sorta ok for him to be there... But I agree: having him here (and in the movie) diminishes the beauty of his significance in SH2.

Not necessarily, because those aren't the same PHs. They may look similar, but each Pyramid head has it's own special meaning and significance. if you think of it that way, the original PHs will never loose their original purpose. And besides, all the other PHeads are just posers. :P

The original purpose of those who wore the robe of Valtiel and the red hoods was that of executioner. Every depiction since then has revolved around this concept. In SH2, his significance was made into something extraordinary, almost beautiful. He's been rated one of the scariest bosses of all time. Using him again and again, even with design tweaking, seems like a lack of original ideas. "You can't create something new to pick up the mantle?" It makes it feel like fan service, not a new game.

Now see, it's obviously Pyramid Head. Regardless of the reasons why, whether he fits into the plot or whether the fangirls wanted him back, that's definitely the same guy who's in SH2.
So why the differences? He looks better, sure, he's on a 360 now. But the helmet is markedly different, as is the Great Knife, and his helmet isn't causing him discomfort.
I hate to say what so many others are saying, because I really *want* to like this game, but he looks more like the one in the film :(

Okay for you guys who say PH has no reason to be in the game, I'll tell you this much, it's not Alex who has pent-up guilt and such. If you remember in 2, the characters can see each others personal hells, so maybe Alex is experiencing SOMEONE ELSES Hell, who DESERVES to be stalked around by PH.
Try to think outside of the box for once and put aside this whole "fan service" business, because it's clearly not the reason you think he was put into the game. :/

actually, the whole point in 2 is that nobody can see others' versions of SH. only James can see Angela's hell, and that's when she's gonna die, the strongest moment.
he never saw Eddie's. He only saw the aftermath of Eddie's tantrums
Laura never saw anything, and James couldn't see anything Laura saw.
maybe if somebody else had been there with James when he faced the two PH and saw Maria's execution, if they had seen the PH and everything else, then what you're saying would be accurate.

no, This is different (oddly enough) from the events that happened in 4. In 2, when you get to the apartment, near the dumpster there's a newspaper that talks about walter seeing the red executioner= pyramid head. It makes perfect sense, seeing as it's the first level you see him. Priests would make no sense to the story's plotline in that game.

it'd make perfect sense if it didn't especified that the red devil is the priest who taught Walter about the cult.
and it does make sense, since Walter becomes one to perform the whole ritual. He takes the role of the priest who works to bring god -or mother in the case- to the world

we're talking about what Walter saw before the events of 2, priests have nothing to do with this game. Walter saw pyramid head and the newspaper, plus the fact that your AT the apartments where you first see him is proof enough.

the "Red Devil" is actually Jimmy Stone. He was the one who rebuilt the cult to include the Red God, Valtiel. Jimmy Stone and George
Rosten are later killed by Walter, but as we know, in SH death ain't the end, especially for brutal bastards who built a sect around unwilling human sacrifices -like what happened in SH4.
and no, it's not proof enough. It has no relation with the Red Devil
