@MrGetaclueplease The thing about alot of Western martial arts, and yes I know mauy thai isn't western, is that as soon as you get them on the ground or a hold or something, they don't know how to react or defend themselves from it, they are only strong on their two feet.
he is good indeed. But before the great BRUCE LEE he is just nothing. Cuz Bruce Lee has extremley powerfull and fast moves with an perfect prescission
the only man who could defeat Bruce lee is Bruce lee himself. No other.
But Muy Thai is a real martial art that is probably one of the best in a real fight. But since Tony Jaa's an actor, of course he needs some acrobatic moves, otherwise he'd end up like Jaun Claude Van Dame
@L3ctronik most definately bruce lee was quite an athlete too because it was hard to follow Bruce lee's kick even in slow motion. he had combination of martial arts into one and he didn't have to think before striking.
but never NEVER underestimate tony jaa hoveever he has prepared his moves not only for fighting but for movies, but those kicks and knee and elbow strikes are more worth looking at than bruce lees because they are well prepared for the movies
lol i don't know anything about fighting you're funny
if that was the case, i wouldn't be good on Muay Thai ...
old mixt martial arts was better. you were able to see skills, not just punching like whatever and just using jiu jitsu (by the way, i like jiu jitsu)... but come on.. got to agree.
if you like "MMA" you might want to check out "Rio Heroes" that's much much better than "MMA" just for the fact that MMA is well known. but...
MMA is sport, its fairly close to actual fighting but its not the real deal, for example, the reason why no kung fu disciple has won in MMA is because any kung fu you see in MMA bouts is extremely limited. It is an actual fighting art, so ALL of the techiques in Kung Fu which are meant to disable, incapacitate or kill, are automatically against the rules. Eye gauging, strikes to the throat, temple, groin, etc can't be used, most of which are the targets in Kung Fu, the aim is to end a fight fast
Seriously, in many traditional combat systems, much of the training and technique includes strikes to the throat, breaking the arm, stomping on the ankle, shoulder or jaw of downed opponent. Real combat arts train people to finish a fight in seconds, not to take a beating for 1-5 rounds. In a real fight there is no round two. Keep in mind that Self defense is for "kill or be killed" while MMA is for "knock out or be knocked out" or "win by points" there is a HUGE difference.
if you're too closed minded to make the distinction between a refereed match and a life threatening situation, that's your loss. How much use would MMA training be when someone tries to mug you at knife or gun point? or if someone tries to kill you? There won't be a referee around to stop that fight, nor is there any tapping out, or someone to throw in the towel for you.
What is the name of the # move (kick) that appear on this video???(number 6 to the end). The one where tony jaa throw a backside air kick that fails and instantly do in the air a counter-move kick that hits on the face.

he is very very good, but kickboxing is pretty risky, alot of their moves open the body up, but still looks pretty ouch.

All the moves you see with green letters are real ancient muay thai strokes.
Be forbidden in competitions because of their deadlyness.
Stunts are alive because Tony did not hit directly.
