The "Terran Empire" sounds more believable... they should have incorporated some futuristically modified freemason symbols into it also... but then again... the terran empire is completly open about it's agendas... lol... the choice of background music is perfect.
When the Defiant was passing by the Vulcan ship it took out, I was amazed to see how big it was in comparison to the Defiant even though the Vulcan ship was 100 years behind technology wise to the Defiant.... I guess Vulcans want to deter any would be attackers by making their ships big looking......
i'm sure this is going to be the future of mankind. there will be no "friendly" species out there for us to explore. nature works on one simple rule: eat or get eaten. and mankind will live with its ancient instincts for eternity: the need for war, expansion, survival. it's to bad that human technology evolved faster than human logic. so many weapons, so little heart. long live the terran empire!
IMO, this has got to be 1 of the all time coolest, & in general, best "Star Trek" episodes ever made. It is 1 of my favorites! I was sad that the Enterprise series (which was very good!), which in all likelihood will be the last "Star Trek" series ever made, ended. It's weird to go from the 90's, w/3 simultaneous Star Trek series, to now NONE. A new series based on the newest movie might be cool!
You don't have to hit the head 3 times at long range (when it's doing 30 dmg). Only 1 of those 3 shots needs to be a headshots + 2 bodyshots = kill. That's the advantage the M16 has over the G11.
Great episode. Very true to the Original Series. For example, there was lots of sex and lots of action. Plus the addition of an Original Series plot made it even better. Plus, it explains a lot about the Terran Empire's uprising. One thing i have always been upset with Trek writers for: never making an episode featuring the Mirror USS Enterprise-D and Mirror Picard and Riker. That would have been an interesting episode.
@Daycrist hi dun mind if i ask how this SPOCK who overthrows the terran empire is it the SPock from the mirror universe iteself or from the original reality wish to hear from you soon
@Daycrist oh i c . spock overthrow the empire i wonder if that is his intention all along even if there is no regualr kirk around to influence him because i thought he could have done it without kirk
@Daycrist but what i don't understand if the terran empire is defeated how could the terran starfleet advance to the stage where they have the same type of technology like the federation like in the original series where you have another kirk and spock and those super advance starships like the enterprise in the original series dont mind u explaine to me thanks
@Badboy21thekiller The Terran Empire didn't fall until AFTER normal-Kirk met with ALTERNATE-Spock in TOS: Mirror, Mirror. The Empire survived until the radical changes that Spock made which led to the Empire weakening and eventually being conquered by the "Alliance" (Cardassian/Klingon/Bajoran) as seen in DS9. The events seen in ENT:In A Mirror, Darkly merely show a change in power with the Empire.
These episodes make me really irritated that there wasnt a season 5 (and 6,7,8,9,10 for that matter). They probably could have resolved this cliffhanger just a little bit while the romulan war arc was happening :_(
Honestly this was one of the few REALLY good episodes of Enterprise....Everything about it was great...I especially liked the alt. universe intro opening (Ironically this intro was a MILLION times better than the regular one....at least the music didnt sound like some Family Sitcom.......)
most hillarious, not hillarious... hallarious episode ever in star trek, especially those microwave torture scenes, and sex scenes after victories lol
Yeah; he tried his best to play evil, and he pulled it off most of the time, but let's face it, Bakula's the kind of actor who does best with big ol' happy-go-lucky stage productions like "Okalahoma" and "Damn Yankees". He even sings pretty well, did you know that? I mean, he can do TV, he's done it for years, but there's just some stuff that's a little beyond him. Now Shatner, HE can play a crazy-evil whackjob and do it over the TOP for you, as we all know lol.
@Howyaduing Hoshi is hot in ANY universe, determining more or less hotness when Hoshi is involved is like trying to say which universe *exists* more. They do or they don't, there is no measurement to it other that it simply is.
@leeham991 Hehe - unfortunately I suspect a couple of nuclear war's will cool the heels of those who really like the idea of war without having to suffer any of it's consequences.
Nobody likes war, but some people are capable of recognizing that it only takes one side to have one. Poland didn't have to agree to fight Germany in 1939 in order to have hundreds of thousands of Germans marching through Warsaw. Again, nobody likes war, but to think that you can avoid it forever by just being a pacifist and choosing not to prepare for it is naive. Weakness invites Oppression. Strength deters aggression.
@DrRockso99 No doubt that strength can deter agression, but the question we are now faced with is - what is the upper limit of strength, of military arms, how much is too much? We don't have a 2:1 advantage over countries like China, we have a 10:1 , is that the most effective use of taxpayers monies? Furthermore, we have a seriously blind eye to research outsourcing anything that is not nailed down to countries that oftentimes are our adversaries or potential adversaries on the field.
Our military strength guarantees that no nation or even group of nations can ever really threaten the security of our constitutional republic. This is ideal because if we returned to the limits that constitution puts upon our federal government, our economic growth would make a lot of people in the world even more jealous than they already are. If you think it takes more than jealousy to start a war, you are mistaken.
@DrRockso99 I don't doubt that a nation such as the United States, needs a deterrent force, but history is littered with a laundry list of Great Powers, that were not defeated as a result - necessarily of their military weakness but rather their inability to balance the needs of the state to the economic carrying capacity of the state, So most European states, Japan etc have all had to resort to warfare or constrain military spending, I see no reason we would not be subject to the same rules.
You just contradicted yourself. Earlier you recognized the necessity of military strength, and now you talk about how it isn't needed. Also, what is this crap about balancing the needs of the state with the economic capacity of the state? Sounds like the universal justification for social spending to me. Such a position entirely neglects how the economic might of the state was created in the first place. I can tell you that it wasn't created with handouts to failures.
@DrRockso99 I don't disagree, but the role of the state, is simple, provide Standards & legal structures & yes, some services that may not be provided by the private sector in a profitable way (such as roads or conducting traffic), in this way, we (particularly in the US) tend to think in strictly capitalist/socialist terms, that's a limit of the cold war, while certainly it can be said that communism is not preferable to representative government, China demonstrates it need not abjectly fail.
@proadmin1 So I agree we can imperil ourselves with overly generous military or social programs, it is not an exclusive this or that idea, government spending - period is always something to be mindful of. We should not tolerate wasteful spending & demand efficient delivery of any service. As Eisenhower said , "Defense ought not to be made an excuse for wasting taxpayers dollars", I would extend that to say that neither social nor defense spending should give pause to the taxpayer of any nation.
If your point was that military spending shouldn't be to large a strain on the economy of a nation, then you are right, and if you think the United States is anywhere close to the danger zone in that regard, you are mistaken. Our military budget is large because our economy is huge. Our system of free market economics and individual liberty has made us wealthy beyond measure, and our military budget reflects that.
@DrRockso99 Actually , that's the danger, in a way, we don't care to measure. That's the deadly mistake, Kaiser Wilhelm was almost entirely consumed with personal issues that ruined the First Reich. The Spanish looted an entire two continents of gold and silver and only hit the wall after they had given their entire wealth to the Dutch and others.
@DrRockso99 An economics friend of mine put it this way, the US was attacked on 9/11 and not a few economists consider it the most efficient economic attack on any nation in human history - that we are aware of - because we have and will - spend in excess of 5 TRILLION dollars, while we may catch some, it is unlikely we will ever catch most/all of the principals responsible and the cost was less than 1 million dollars to the primary sponsors of the attack, we didn't and don't have that money.
how i love your "America superior, the rest of the world inferior" mentality. seriously, I do. Reminds me a lot of Soundwave from Transformers...and Adolf Hitler.
Save your weak minded little strawman arguments. I didn't say anything like what you are talking about. If you don't feel that you are intellectually up to the challenge of contributing to the debate in a meaningful way, then just don't, and save yourself from looking like the fool that you are. Also, just for the record, calling everybody who disagrees with you "Hitler" isn't exactly breaking new ground either genius. I guarantee that you agree with a lot more of Hitler's policies than I do.
Probably have been better if they set "Enterprise" series in the parallel universe,I mean, what happened with the Xindi? We never heard of them again..Too many plot holes, shame as this episode was great.
I think at the end of the 3rd series Starfleet and the Xindi made a treaty to never bother each other again, apparanlty the Xindi join the Ferderation sometime betwenn the 2300's and the 2500's. The Parallel universe was a good setting and I liked this episode. The should have made more. The Defiant was just Godly to all the ships in that timeline seeign that it is over 100 years more advanced.
Found it. It was Dear Doctor. Enterprise decides that they can't interfere with "evolution" and hold back the cure for the genetic malformation that was exterminating the Valkians who shamefully kept the Menk as pets instead of exterminating them like... well, humans did to the Neanderthal.
From that episode on, I knew I couldn't ever identify with Bakula again, and lost interest in the show.
Star Trek was superceded by Stargate SG1. Stargate has the humanoid aliens with a sound justification, and constant applying of the prime directive. Star Trek Enterprise lost me on poor morality calls (I forgot the episode that jumped the shark for me) and on that utterly unsexy doctor Phlox.
Star Trek Enterprise is a prequel series about the first NX Class vessel. The Enterprise NX-01 was launced in 2151, it takes place 100 years before the original series.
Mostly right. Enterprise is first in chronological order. Then TOS, then The Animated Series (depicted the 4th and 5the years in the five year mission), then Star Trek: The Next Generation. DS9 and Voyager are next as they are on roughly the same crhonological years
I kinda agree.... GREAT vid, awseome. But the songs ok. I personally believe you could have found a better song, not that this one isnt great. And NO, Not no Jonas Bros'. Eww no. :) Lol. GREAT vid.
im not talking about the kardashev scale im talking about they have the technology to acheive warp one and vulcans have had warp flight for a long time now
There's a perfectly good warp capable Vulcan scout craft that I'm sure the would have reverse-engineered. Not to mention a strategic sneak attack here and there has managed to net intelligence - from time to time.
I can understand what your talking about but the vulcans would go looking for their old ship and it would take them awhile to reverse engineer it so the vulcans would be like right here since their scout ship went missing
Dude that first scene when i first saw it man that was messed up lol cool in a dark way but still the federation and the empire really do see to mirror each other the federation with all of humanities best qualities and the empire with all of our worst it would be sweet to see the 2 somehow be at war with each other.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The reason the series failed was because of the influence the DOD/CIA had over the story line. They tried to push the whole torture is good when we do it and the ends justifies the means ethic. The new Star Trek movie is a continuation of this ethically bankrupt movement. Boycott this crap.

Our military budget is large because our economy is huge. Our system of free market economics and individual liberty has made us wealthy beyond measure, and our military budget reflects that.
DrRockso99 1 year ago

Reminds me a lot of Soundwave from Transformers...and Adolf Hitler.
silaku 1 year ago
Save your weak minded little strawman arguments. I didn't say anything like what you are talking about. If you don't feel that you are intellectually up to the challenge of contributing to the debate in a meaningful way, then just don't, and save yourself from looking like the fool that you are. Also, just for the record, calling everybody who disagrees with you "Hitler" isn't exactly breaking new ground either genius. I guarantee that you agree with a lot more of Hitler's policies than I do.

An empire forged in fire, blood, and duranium. Wicked. But I think that with so much infighting, it would be completely impossible.

The Romans did it -- a fair share of the imperium's finest wound up face down in the Tiber.

Probably have been better if they set "Enterprise" series in the parallel universe,I mean, what happened with the Xindi? We never heard of them again..Too many plot holes, shame as this episode was great.
snuffythewomble 2 years ago
I think at the end of the 3rd series Starfleet and the Xindi made a treaty to never bother each other again, apparanlty the Xindi join the Ferderation sometime betwenn the 2300's and the 2500's. The Parallel universe was a good setting and I liked this episode. The should have made more. The Defiant was just Godly to all the ships in that timeline seeign that it is over 100 years more advanced.

There is a review that sumarized my horror. it can be found by googling "Enterprise: Dear Doctor, evolution, and ethics".
Eikinkloster 2 years ago
Eikinkloster 2 years ago
Star Trek was superceded by Stargate SG1. Stargate has the humanoid aliens with a sound justification, and constant applying of the prime directive. Star Trek Enterprise lost me on poor morality calls (I forgot the episode that jumped the shark for me) and on that utterly unsexy doctor Phlox.

wich is the correct order chronologically?
Star Trek The Original Series
Star Trek Generations
Star Trek DS9
Star Trek Voyager
Star Trek Enterprise
is this is correct order from older to newer? if its not, correct it, please
LauxRO 2 years ago
yeah thats the order they were made
ADDIMA1 2 years ago
if is that so, why da hell do enterprise series look more old-fashioned than generations? i just dont get it...
LauxRO 2 years ago
Star Trek Enterprise is a prequel series about the first NX Class vessel. The Enterprise NX-01 was launced in 2151, it takes place 100 years before the original series.
jabudox 2 years ago
i like all the terran empire universes in all of those better than the peaceful pussy universe
pimpinjosh12 2 years ago
@LauxRO
Mostly right. Enterprise is first in chronological order. Then TOS, then The Animated Series (depicted the 4th and 5the years in the five year mission), then Star Trek: The Next Generation. DS9 and Voyager are next as they are on roughly the same crhonological years

Cos the average vulcan can't fight for toffee?

you mean type one
spetsnazGRU 2 years ago
im not talking about the kardashev scale im talking about they have the technology to acheive warp one and vulcans have had warp flight for a long time now
idk339 2 years ago
There's a perfectly good warp capable Vulcan scout craft that I'm sure the would have reverse-engineered. Not to mention a strategic sneak attack here and there has managed to net intelligence - from time to time.
proadmin1 2 years ago
I can understand what your talking about but the vulcans would go looking for their old ship and it would take them awhile to reverse engineer it so the vulcans would be like right here since their scout ship went missing
idk339 2 years ago
Yeah, except human warp flight was a surprise. The Vulcans happened to traveling by, so it would take a while for the Vulcans to find the scout ship.

Dude that first scene when i first saw it man that was messed up lol cool in a dark way but still the federation and the empire really do see to mirror each other the federation with all of humanities best qualities and the empire with all of our worst it would be sweet to see the 2 somehow be at war with each other.

The reason the series failed was because of the influence the DOD/CIA had over the story line. They tried to push the whole torture is good when we do it and the ends justifies the means ethic. The new Star Trek movie is a continuation of this ethically bankrupt movement. Boycott this crap.
