Why are kids movies from the 90's better than most movies today? I mean, I know it's a kids movie, but while being a kids movie it manages to effectively be about faith, the relationship between father and son, and believing that good things will happen. Most movies today can't come close to any of those topics. I wish movies today gave as much credit to their audience as freaking kids movies used to.

This really is one of my favorite movies. It's got good characters exploring good ideas.

I have this on VHS, but don't have my VCR anymore, so thats why I'm here, watching this great film. This is a decent remake of an old black-and-white movie. It's more sappy, more of a kids story, but it does come with a dose of realism and (dare I say) truth for people of all ages. BtW, Did Tony Danza ever get off the sidewalk as a kid? He obviously never played ball when he was young.
