  • NO NO NOOOOO thats not how you make those noodles

  • so you had to get an rx from your doctor for this? how gay

  • That Vargo Titanium 750 Sierra is my favorite for backpacking. I like that the tapered sides to use all of the flame. I like the open design, rather than like a mug, so I can saute spices in oil, boil, or fry, for example: a pan-sized trout.

I use it with the Guyot Designs spatula that snaps apart with a spoon.

The lid will pour off excess liquid. That pan will do a lot more than ramen noodles.

  • It is normal for titanium to discolor with heat. It does not mean that the stove is being damaged. It is fine to use an alcohol stove with this.

  • I bought one of these vergo stoves after this video great peace of equipment worth every dime ( REI is offering no shipping fees in December ) great wind screen for tangea stove does discolor I have tried a lot of different thing and this vargo titanium stove is a lot better setup than a hobo can contraption

:-) at least anything I have made and it is collapsable

  • They would have cooked faster if you keep the door closed

  • there goes my bag...........hang on!

  • HILARIOUS!

pleaple leaving comments are more interested in the ramen noodles than the stove... lol.

i like this stove, but will it hold the weight of a large pot or skillet? i'd like to try to cook something more substantial on it, like ckicken breast or steak. ;)

once again, great video kev. ur my hero. ;)

  • I thought you would not say a word.

  • I've been searching all over the Internets (yes, plural) for a solid, light, efficient camp stove. This is the best one I've found. The JetBoil system is great, but it requires fuel you would generally not have access to in an extended survival situation. Unless of course, you find an REI to raid. All this requires is wood, or alcohol if you have that stove, and a spark. Not bad at all.

  • What kind of pot is that ,,been looking for one just like that

  • @donfachabella it's a Vargo pot

  • hey whenever i make ramen noodles (my son loves the stuff) :D i make it using 1 cup of water. makes it less watery and more intense flavor. :D also whipping up an egg and adding it during cooking adds extra protein. and adding peas to it is pretty tasty to. cheers!

  • @SpikesScarletWitch yep, sometimes I will add 2 eggs. But I like my Ramen drained of all excess water ;)

  • I don't cook Top noodle while at camp... that's for sure...

  • few questions; what does a stove like that cost, did you cook your noodles untill done with the same amount of wood that you started with in the vid, and what the hell did you say at 4:20?

  • @chainlinkdreams it's about $80, depending on where you get it. It is titanium after all.

  • @silverblue73 if you pay $80 for that stove your an idiot everywhere ive seen it its $55-$60

  • I'm with xle5363. What is that pot you're using? It looks like a Sierra cup with a lid. But where did you get it?

    Thanks, enjoyed the video.

  • i got to get one of these. how much and where are they.

  • Good videos.

That looks amazingly simple and efficient. I think I'll get one.

  • excellent video!

  • I ordered one of these after seeing this review a few days ago. It seems to be well constructed, but I'm very impressed by how flat the stove folds down. I can actually fit it into my back pocket lol.

  • Dont worry about the discoloration from using the alcohol stove, titanium naturally discolors from high heat. I always bring both my vargo hexagon wood stove and vargo triad dual alcohol and fuel tab stove. The hexagon works great as a windscreen for the triad for when youre too lazy to find dry wood or everything is soaked.

  • I have no idea what you're trying to show. What's your point? I think I might film myself using my oven....

  • It is made to use a alcohol stove #1 and #2 FYI wood burns hotter then alcohol. Discoloration does not hurt a stove.

  • Although it looks like a nice minimalist design (with a steep price) which is quick to set up, I wonder how much that restrictive doorway interferes with initially building the fire.

  • Did you leave the door open the whole time? I thought the door was supposed to be shut to control the air flow properly, and open just to add sticks.

  • The ending was great "Oops, there goes my bag.."

  • Just to be specific you want to add at least twice more water than that or halve the flavor packet that you're putting in. You can save the flavor packet and use it to flavor other things when cooking.

  • Green Ramen? What flavor is that? I only know chicken and beef.

  • @adams0960 if you read what the package says it will tell you.

  • will it support a snow peak mug the 890ml one ? thanks

  • Those noodle packets are excellent for survival situations. They were invented by Momofuku in poverty ridden post war Japan to provide a cheap tasty high calorie meal. You might want to go with the Japanese and Korean brands for higher quality, better flavor. One noodle bag is a 500 calorie meal. But hint on cooking.. boil water first, put in flavor packet second, put in noodle last but DON'T crush it up. You also want to put in enough water so the noodles are totally submerged.

  • @melonbarmonster They could also be mixed with insects, animal meat, eggs, and many plants you come across in your travels.. besides the high salt content.. they are lightweight and have virtually no expiration... they make great survival food.

  • @melonbarmonster i like mine crushed with little water so i pour it out after its cooked then add the packet of spice. we all have our special likes and dislikes.

  • @FixedByDoc Certain Chinese, Thai brands can be eaten that way and my guess is that you are eating a cheaper ramen variety which tend to be smaller and around 3-300-400 calories. Personally I would go with better quality and higher calories. They are better made, healthier and tastier. There have been poor athletes in East Asia who have won boxing championships and Olympic medals eating and training on the better quality ramen.

  • u can do the same by putting 2 rocks together

  • Have you tried a Ebit tablet yet?

  • Yes the discoloration came from the heat of the alcohol stove. As I recall you were using a side burner stove and the flame jets were pointed directly at the side of the stove. Probably a different stove would have had different results.

  • Thought: A Watched Pot Never Boils?

  • good vid thanks for the trial run :D

ack safty! if you really want to use dryer lint please try to just use lint from a load of 100% cotton fabrics or other non petroleum/manmade fibers, these when burnt will release polycylicaromatic hydrocarbons that are carsinagenic and will leave yucky hard to clean off stuff on your stove. :)

  • @mywootgarden Dude...........Hot water can cause cancer ,Life has been trying to kill you since day one .

  • @08EJH79 man you make no sense at all. Mywootgarden left a good comment with some very good points. Your comment is like some one who smokes saying well life's going to kill you anyways. Well yeah but i don't want to die faster. Have fun eating out of your BPA cans and drinking your fluoride buddy.

  • @08EJH79 i think its more about keeping the stove cleaner. if your water is giving you cancer get a different water source.

  • @mywootgarden good point. didnt think about residue from the petroleum based lint.

  • 4:19 trying to talk with hot noodles in your mouth made me LOL

  • How would you compare the sooting from that stove to other wood burners?

  • never seen chilli flavored ramon noodles.......sounds gross!

  • where can i get the canteen? thanks

  • what is that pot that you are using?

  • there expensive youre lucky you got it free. i will recommend it to friends who may be willing to fork for it. i however am content to make a small campfire for free until this product is more widely available.

  • love your vids !!!

  • hi, i've been watching your videos for quite a few months now. as a newbie to survivalism and a city dweller, can you guide me in the right direction for an absolute beginner?

  • @tylertyler82 - are you a member of the survivalistboards forum? We have a whole section dedicated to urban survival.

  • @tylertyler82 for camping go other places, but for beginner survival I recommend the Book 98.6 degrees by cody lundin.

  • @hyperseauton Really, in the end who are you to say how a person should live? And if they choose to live in the woods how is that a problem? Technically speaking, I wouldnt mind how on earth you got the idea from this simple video about a camping/survival aid, you got to the idea of end of the world apocalypse type situations.

  • @hyperseauton retard it is about camping and having fun and also being prepared. if there is a major storm and power is out how will you cook. many other reasons than just appocolapse hour to use this stuff. and if you wait till then you wont be able to get the gear or know how to use it effieciently. get prepared now and educate your self for the future what ever it brings. nothing the way it is lasts forever. things change and quickly.

  • Good job! Keep up the vids.Basic, Basic, Basic. Not many people know of it.

  • That thing is awesome!

  • I like it!!!! I'm getting one.

  • Thumbs Up and some Money Love my Friend!!

  • too hot isnt so applicable to titanium. i dont think you could get an alcohol stove hot enough to hurt titanium.

  • $60 + shipping? lol.. I can rig up something that does a better job for $5 or less.

  • @thehilitereel lets see it. if you can please make a video for the rest of us. i am not criticising i am interested.

  • @FixedByDoc No need.. Just search for Hobo can stove.

  • @thehilitereel i was just wondering what your version is. ive seen the stuff on youtube already and have several personal designs. i made a new one today infact and will be showing it this weekend on my overnight.

  • @FixedByDoc Ah.. What ever works, couple vent holes, place to put your cooking container on top, you're good to go. I don't think this product is worth the money though.

  • @thehilitereel well thats the great thing about youtube you get to see reviews on stuff before you buy and get a good idea or at least a decent one about wether you like it or not before its to late and money spent.

  • Try to start it this way, Go to your smoke shop and get some Hokah coles and try that, They burn great and last a long time.

  • I know it has nothing to do with the your video, but ramen always taste better if you put the noodle AFTER the water boils, as it will prevent starch to seep into the boiling water too much, allowing better consistency when chewing. When you are on the trail, taste becomes pretty important, you know. haha.

  • @HISempire to each their own

  • lol, the flying ramen bag at the end haha.

  • Sounds like you were under an expressway.....which would be right after a false flag. That thing looks like it'd work great.

  • I don't know why but that flying ramen bag was hilarious.

  • @LooseLatitude rofl i waited for that part... yes it was hilarious!

  • Good review

  • Amazing!!!

  • this just came in the other day i used it once. its good for cooking hotdogs!!

  • @monsterdrinker95 and for places that dont allow camp fires
