it was a comedy, for my tech class when i was a sophomore haha.. i got an a out of it, so i dont complain.. but i can make a better one in the future if you want lol.. im a college bowler, i have had a 800 series, 11 in a row and other achievements lol.
Haha, I didn't know about going to the bowling alley to bowl! >_> This video is pointless and also saying "finding the right ball for you" is bullshit, because really none of the balls in that place are "just right" for anyone. What's also bullshit, is this 10% of your body weight rule. Just go to your local pro shop and have them custom fit a bowling ball to your hand and add a couple pounds to the weight you usually bowl with, jeez.
Yeah it may vary, but this is a guide to people who just like to go out and bowl and need a house ball... just what i learned at bowling camp at Wichita State University
just ask a person that can hook it good on a house shot and see if they can do that consistantly on a sport pattern, if they can, then they have some talent..
I agree Gordon. I've never been able to hook. Ever. I've been bowling for years, got my first ball back in 96 or 97, etc, etc. In fact, I almost "reverse hook" it, if that's possible. I'm right handed, and it's mostly straight. However, when I let go, my hand rotates/twists to the right/outside, causing a bit of clockwise rotation. I still manage decent scores though.
thats ok ive seen a lot of people throw bowling balls like that, it is called a "backup ball" if you ever get a new ball talk to your pro shop guy and ask him if he could drill it to fit your style of play. have him find your Positive Axis Point (PAP) on your other ball and he will know where to drill the ball to give you the results you want.
I used to do that (left handed, ball goes to left)! but now that i've learned to do a basic stroker hook, my strike rate is considerably higher. i get a lot more splits too, though, so my average isn't that much higher, but i think it'll improve over time.

lmao, i feel you on the first part...plus, if you wanna be a good bowler, you should learn how to hook the ball
vex15423xum 3 years ago
You don't have to hook the ball to be good...
just ask a person that can hook it good on a house shot and see if they can do that consistantly on a sport pattern, if they can, then they have some talent..
it is all about accuracy
