When important details (like this and others) are left out of the anime it almost makes me not want to watch it. But I did anyway because, come on, not only is it a good series but the guys are smexy too. (my personal opinion) I know that some things might have to be censored for TV (yes this did air on TV in North America too) but it causes way to much confusion to be worth it (in my opinion, and I am very opinionated).

umm it wasn't fully hakkai's sister...if i remeber in reloaded when you meet chin again ( i don't know why i love him) he states that they were in an orphanage and promised each other if they were adopted they had to be adopted to gather because of their pasts so people saw them as brother and sister.

Yup, I know. I've got several of her art books and read other series of hers aside from Saiyuki. However, in the Saiyuki series, manga or anime, thus far I haven't seen any love confessions, make out sessions, or steamy man sex. Have seen plenty of incest though. And weird bunny doctor fetish stuff... and that's actually in the series. In my experience, the fans will do as they like, whether there's a hint of stuff or not. ^^;
