  • American won't stop until they destroy themselves.

  • you flown

  • PAN AM (1927-1991) and TWA (1925-2001) the greatest American commercial icon forever. No one can come close to them...

  • I hAAte every thing AAbout American Airlines they are nothing but Bullshit or as useless as my ass. Honestly american is a cheesey airline (major Pun intended) *rimshot* whose CEO has been Reading Mien Kampf instead of the bible.

    Here Lies TWA

    Born: 1925

    Died: 2001

    Gone But Never Forgotten

    R.I.P

  • I HATE U AMERICAN AIRLINES I AM SOO PISSED @ U 2 THE POINT THAT I'D BET THAT THE ZOMBIE OF HOWARD HUGHES WOULD WALK UP TO THE CEO OF AMERICAN AIRLINES AND SHOOT THE CEO DEAD WITH AN AK-47 AND THE ZOMBIE WOULD TAKE A MAJOR SHIT ON THE CEO'S CORPSE

  • @coasterboy600 I would agree. TWA was by far the better airline. We were treated like adults and we treated our passengers with respect. AA hasn't a clue how to treat employees or passengers.

  • and here i find myself going through this all over again, another merger.

  • This is why I never fly with AA again .....low class service and monopolization of the industry that is now from the biggest to the 3 biggest TWA was starring to recover financially back in 2000-2001 ...Bill Compton ....AA and you screwed TWA I hope the name AA or AMR or American Airlens and their regional ass kisser Eagle vanishes for ever.......anything but AA

  • TWA was a great airline I flew TWA many times from Los Angeles to Chicago many times. I even had a TWA credit card.

  • I hate mergers "Tell me lies tell sweet little lies."

    Sooooooooooooo true!

  • Looking at this video I can't believe its been nearly a decade. It still feels as if the events of 2001 in general were only yesterday.

  • Twaladybug have you tried to get audio back? you can look up tutorials on youtube you just basically type this in im pretty sure :

Here ill put it in another comment

  • hmm looks like it worked?

  • Comment removed

  • AMR/AA was dishonest at best, that's why they want no audio! They promoted a MERGER and CEO's TW/W.F.Compton & AA/D.Carty negotiated an ACQUISITION! Results, TW employees in the bottom of AA seniority list! They used 9/11 as an excuse (DISGUSTING) to furlough TWA's personal! Out of over 18,000 TW employees less than 3,000 remain with AA. This was a carefully orchestrated plan from AMR/AA! Don't be fooled!

  • We don't need audio! We know what AA did and that's good enough for many! Time heals all wounds, and AA is doom by the Karma they have acquired! DL/NW in the coming years together with CO will eat her up alive!

  • Thumbs down!

  • Go to YOU TUBE/ Flight attendant slams airline ...... AMR/AA Tim Smith blows the cover of AMR/AA when in the written statement to MSNBC refers to "Ou Customers Lives" VS "Our Passengers Lives" AMR/AA always profit before even human lives! I Once the transaction of buying a ticket in any medium of transportation concludes we are passengers, human lives are at stake, for AMR/AA we are a profit margin not human lives! Breech Academy MCI emphasize it always, American training center, I doubt it!

  • ok this copyright bullshit can stop now...like anybody really gives a shit anyway.

  • Twaladybug, did you try to get your audio back ? If you look there is a video on youtube that tells you how to get your audio back.

  • I would agree. We were taught that you should treat passengers like you would treat a guest in your own home. Not so sure thats still in the airline service manuals anymore.

  • @twaladybug>>> FYI>>> I was nostalgic recently watching the George Clooney film "Up In The Air" in the scene were they are in front of the 3 dome terminal in Lambert Field (STL) and he makes the historical reference of The Spirit of St. Louis & Charles Lindbergh it came clear to me that the airline that should had been featured was TWA, not AA, they lack the prestige & the history that was needed in that film, totally! Delta is hiring a new class this fall, I'm thinking of giving it a shot!

  • @TWTR4EVER Hey Hector!, Those TWA Years were the Best!, Just us 2 Puerto Rican Trolly Dollys, Pushing our Carts by Day & Hitting Every Gay Disco the minute we Landed!

  • TWA was at the same level as Pan American when it came to courtesy and respect for employees and paasengers. I really miss those flights to Europe on the old Boeing 707s when jet travel was a true pleasure. TWA had some of the most professional flight attendants and flight crew in the industry back then.

  • I really miss TWA alot. All the direct flights out of STL made it easy to travel. Even as a NWA employee I flew TW alot. Kept me out of DTW or MSP for a connect. I feel your pain NWA screwed over alot of IAM people to and look at em now. Delta what a shame. No more #1 to Japan. I wish TWA had those asian routes and STL was the megahub it could have been. Now its a dump with littler jets everywhere. Just pitiful!

  • Please fill out a dispute form for this video so we can get the great audio back

  • As a former FSM/Purser for TWA (Hired date was 752006) I had a wonderful time with TWA despite all the emotional stuff going on. Nevertheless, I supported my brothers and sisters in the strike of 86, and always have supported my TWA family. TWA is still in my heart, and I have my uniforms along with my wings and other memoriable things that meant alot. I was based at MCI, ORD and later JFK. Thank you Kay for making a great video,. God BLess

  • As an AA F/A, buying TWA was the biggest mistake AA could have done

  • I would agree, as we have NEVER been welcomed by AA or its flight attendants. Pity - we could have negotiated one of the best paying and working contracts in the industry.

At TWA we were treated like adults. At AA/APFA we are treated like bad children.

  • I get the unauthorized part, cant we still hear the voices?

  • TWA was the best!!! Carl Ican and cronies gutted it for personal gain at the expense of employees, other shareholders, and the flying public. It's greed like this that has destroyed many great companies.

  • i dont understand. who's Carl Ican? he wasn't the CEO of American(Don Carty) or TWA(William Compton) who was he???

  • I work with a former TWA flight attendant! after american's buyout she was furlough and now i work at the olive garden with her. Even though im only 19 we can talk all day about TWA! For xmas i bought her a model TWA 747 and she about lost it all and bursted into tears seeing her like that made me realize how special TWA was to their employees and their Passengers. I miss TWA

  • oh. god! i missed twa already..i will never forget bout twa in my mind :)

  • Well done fo rgiving TWA its honour and dignity by giving it the water cannon salute for last flight!

good video - wish it was still around.

  • over and over watching this video, great stuff, keep our Trans World in mind!

    cheers!

  • I wonder if they is anyone at American who

    started with Ozark Airlines?

  • Great video, brings bad so many happy memories of 23 years with a wonderful airline.

  • I lost my career because of the flight attendant union along with the blessings of AA. I had 35 years of experience.

I have never heard any of the AA employees complain about flying to former TWA routes. we never came to the table empty handed.

  • OMG im so sorry about that? what did you do? did you start with another airline?

  • Being english i didnt know about TWA being took over for sometime. What exactly was the reason for the flight attendants being "kicked out"?

  • Im not going to say anything bad really because I have several friends that are former TWA, but this is how I see it. If former TWA employees are going to be bitter, they didn't have to accept the job that AA gave them. They could have been put out on the street. Just think of all the original AA Crews that the TWA crews bumped, they still are not flying because of all the ones that came over, and the original AA should have been the last to go. Loose the attitude, you still have a job!

  • Thank you for the great chance, to see

" That Wonderful Airline " on it's last

day. I won't say how I feel about AA mgmt,

because I don't want my kids to know that

    I cursed over the internet.

  • Yes, TWA was a magnificent carrier. I had a friend whose father works for American Airlines. That family seemed friendly, just like the original merger plans. Now they are trying to ruin my life, just like they ruined TWA's. The other day, I found my deceased grandmother's old TWA Frequent Flight Bonus program card. It is a very well done, well thought out tribute video. It is hard to believe that my favorite carrier, JetBlue, is now getting TWA's old terminal at JFK.

  • on a flight to o hare from ABQ i was sitting next to the jump set/gally and you know what there was a old TWA bevrige cart

  • there several relics of TWA. In fact at O'Hare the large light up TWA sign is still in place and has just been repaired and kept in place.

  • as far as i know, jetBlue is keeping the TWA sign in front of T5 at JFK and repairing it so it will light up every night again.

  • Yes. I love Jet Blue. They have a heart and are keeping the sign up.

  • Where is it ? i Want to look it up

  • look for pics of O'Hare and JFK... or go to the airports...

  • I dont live near O'hare. I live near JFK so i seen it but i didnt know ORD had one. I tried looking for the sign Via Google earth or wikimapia but no luck. Do you think u could send me a Pic ? ;)

  • I Worked for AA and believe me they are only there because of the money, not to please passengers.I felt so a shame to give my passengers a bag of chips and half a soda.

  • i'm just sad that i was to young and missed out on such a great airline. american could never match the class of twa.

  • I just noticed that the phone book that arrived at my door the other day still has TWA's phone number in it...almost 7 years after the fact...I wonder why.

  • Somebody is not doing their proofing! Nice to see TWA in print still!

  • do u wanna know what i saw yesterday? i saw a TWA Boeing 767 aircraft! i was amazed to see that, and let me say, it looked a lot better up close like that than in the pictures

  • Uhh where ? How?

  • i saw it at JFK. in Terminal 5. it was taxiing to the runway for takeoff. it was truly a spectacular sight.

but that was a long time ago. you responded to my comment a year after i posted it.

  • Yeah i know i just saw your comment. But you had to have seen that Pre 2001.

  • no, i saw that IN JULY 2008!!!

  • A TWA Flight ? I dont get that. You arent suposed to still see TWA Flights. Im confused ._.

  • i don't know who was operating that jet or what it was being used for, but i know what i saw; a Boeing 767-200 in TWA's 1990s paint scheme taking off.

  • Is probably for a movie and American is either getting paid or getting something out of the deal. Those carpetbaggers will sell their mothers and crash a plane for profits! Please go to YOU TUBE / Fight attendant slams airline....what a treat!

  • ehh, id like to see that movie when it comes out...

  • b747dude---In retrospect when I left the company during the Carl Icahn strike of 1986 leaving 10 years of seniority behind it was a tough decision but deep in my heart I knew the sequence of events he would create the company could never recover from, specially in those times! I still feel like TWA was my family but my survival instinct guided me to Trans*Brasil Airlines and then they collapse also, It's been quite a journey my career? I wouldn't change a thing!

  • I hate AA, I remember that TWA had $79 each way from San Juan - Miami. When American bought TWA, the SJU-MIA route became 4 times

more expensive becuase no other airline than American flew to MIA directly from SJU.

  • American Airlines are bullys they try to run other airlines out of buisness. TWA rocks

  • I wish TWA had gone it alone, AA management should never have been allowed to buy another carrier with hubs so close to one another and airplanes that didn't fit with AA's. I am sorry the TWA folks got shafted, but in the end, only the front line empployee's get dumped on, management walks away with pockets full of money, leaving those behind to pickup the pieces. I am sure TWA would have thrived on it's own. Don and Carl should be sharing a prison cell together.

  • Thanks - of course I agree. I would like to toss the flight attendants union APFA into the septic tank along with the IAM and Sherry Cooper.

If there is a furlough at AA - first to go will be the recently recalled TWA flight attendants. So sad.

  • Of course hindsight is 20/20. I think the majority of employees on both sides of the argument wish that the AA aquisition of TWA had never happened. There's no way anyone could know if TWA would have survived on their own after the 9/11 events and the subsequent downturn our economy has experienced coupled with the massive increase in fuel prices. Don Carty made a dumb move by buying TWA. It just would have been a much better outcome if all flight attendants could have remained employed.

  • For years TWA was predicted to go out of business, yet TWA continued to survive. AA finally decided to wipe out TWA, it was easier. TWA was making a comeback - lean and mean. Boeing was interested in financially supporting TWA. The Icahn tickets had a about a 1 year left and TWA would have been free. TWA would have survived after 9/11.

  • I hear you Kay. I just wish it had. A friend of mine is now number 2 on the recall list and with this new round of bad news who knows if he'll ever get back. I recently received word that AA was willing to indefinitely extend recall rights if APFA would give up all of their duty rigs in exchange. They won't do anything out of the goodness of their hearts. I guess that's because they don't even have a heart. It is so sad, or should we say sAAd.

  • Not knowing about the tickets, what was the problem with the tickets? Not being in america, i'm not as clued up as you

  • I hate aa just as much as you do!

They therw our hub out because it was TWA'S world hearquaters when aa bought them out.

Lambert INTL airport isn't really international anymore because TWA was really the only intl airline to fly into us.

AA doesnt fly and intl routes out of here.

Lmabert has never been so cold since TWA left.

    I will never fly AA!

I hate them with a passion.

I cant wait till they go bankrupt.

Plus who charges to take a bag with you on your vacation?

    Only AA! $15 1 way

  • I dont get how an airline thats ben around for so long leave the skies.

  • Corruption from within. The last CEO of TWA can take credit for destroying his own airline. TWA was making money, crawling back and he set up TWA and sold out for pennies.

There is so much to the history of TWA - maybe someday I can share it with everyone.

  • And for those who don't know the last CEO of TWA was a former pilot: Bill Compton.

  • AA used to be great back in the day. Why do they seem to be getting... lazy?

  • AA SUCKS

  • I was on a flight were 3 of the flight attendants were ex-TWA last year on a visit to America. They and the AA flight attendants seemed to be getting on great with each other.

Theres still a lot of fully TWA liverd AC in the deserts in store some L1011s and 747s.I wonder if they still have all TWA interiors.

  • I was on a flight were 3 of the flight attendants were ex-TWA last year on a visit to America. They and the AA flight attendants seemed to be getting on great with each other.

  • I know where you mean, and yes they do still have TWA interiors

  • TWA was destroyed by a aviation giant American Airlines and now NWA is being destroyed by Delta. all this crap that nothing will happen to anyone at NWA etc etc its going to have the same turnout of the TWA/American buy out. i'll miss NWA and TWA. FUCK DELTA AND AMERICAN!

  • what many people don't understand though, about the TWA-American merger, is that American didn't buy out TWA. they couldn't, because they aren't an independent company. the real bad guys were the people who run AMR Coporation, the stockholding company that owns American Airlines. (they also own American's regional carrier, American Eagle)

  • Also interesting to point out is that most of the "pro-TWA" comments, other than those by the creator of this video, are either so misspelled they are hard to read, or contain foul language. Great way for a sophisticated bunch to voice your opinions. And you wonder why we question your validity as an asset to AA? No wonder you voted for the Gladding slate...Ward and his are too intellectual for you and their mailings contained words with more than four letters. Good job becoming team players.

  • The saddest thing about this entire video is the fact that these ex-TWA employees never could have become an asset to American Airlines since they are all so absorbed in the delusional fantasy that the old legacy of TWA was still viable in today's market. Valuable assets you brought to the "merger"? Old aircraft, bitter employees, the STL hub and routes to the middle east??? Wake up. Your heyday was long over. Your antiquated fantasy and belief in the IAM are your biggest liabilities. So sad.

  • in the beginning of this they say we are joining an airline with great leadership, MY ASS, they told 9/10 of the TWA employees to screw off

  • AA sucks the only reasonw hy they took TWA is beause they were beginning an airline they wanted to be famous fast and they had to take the best airline TWA....now AA sucsk and it will always suck the only goo airline we have now is British Airways

  • and Qantas

    and ANA

    and Virgin Atlantic

    and Singapore Airlines

    and Lufthansa

    and JAL

    and Cathay Pacific

    and Air France

    and Emirates...

notice that NO GOOD LEGACY CARRIER IS BASED IN THE UNITED STATES

  • They also claim they needed a reliver hub for O'Hare at the time. Mind you this was before 9/11.

  • R.I.P. TWA that company was my favorite airline.

  • AA is my third airline. My first was Trans World Express in STL. Yes, I wore the fantastic Ralph Lauren uniform. I still have two wonderful friends from TWA that lost their recall rights. We are recalling TWA FA's and I've had the pleasure and privledge of working with an observer, and two commuters, one on my jumpseat. WELCOME BACK TWA! A CLASS ACT ALL THE WAY!

  • All this because of one greedy man, look what he has done, destroyed a legacy carrier and all its employees, God Bless TWA!

  • Not only one, but several. TWA was bleeding red ink in 98, when every other airline was well in the black. Carl Icahn was/or still is involved with Priceline. One of my friends that is now furloughed from TWA told me that she was pulling tickets for a flight from STL to DC. R/T cost was $68 when they were bleeding. She about fainted.

  • Without TWA, the puzzle of airlines won't be complete.

  • Kay thank you for the lovely video and with such an appropiate accompaning song! Please check you comment posted 5 months ago. I would like to correspond with you!

    IN Unity--Nelson (TWA's bAAd Boy!) "wink-wink"

  • (continued) I will be flying with you reAAL soon ONLY to be a "short term" torn on your side! "PROFESSIONALLY" OF COURSE! SEE YOU AAll reAAl SOON! "PROFESSIONALLY" well done OF COURSE! "MuAAH!"---Nelson

  • (continued) You and "your" colleAAges" will be getting a true TWA "AAss whooppin' That will leave you in a dAAze! You will not be able to tell which way is "AAft nor fowAArd"! REMEMBER: "TWO greAAT AAirlines one greAAt future"?? To quote DubyAAh..."we got a thumpin!" and so will you AAll! You eat your own spAAwn!

  • Ok, would you like a piece of raw pork served in a dirty ashtray? How many drinks have you had? Sober up! I can't justify this response any other other way. Elevator missed the top floor.

  • Well TWA was going to die anyways

  • Not ture - TWA was actually making money. TWA CEO Bill Compton stripped TWA of its cash by paying off huge amounts of debt, making TWA's required operating cash on hand less that the $50m required.

AA bought off Compton, and intentionally set out to eliminate TWA completely and obtain its coveted routes.

TWA was making a come back and the day after 9/11 TWA was the ONLY airline qualified to take off. We were the only airline trained in terrorist profiling.

  • I'm not too sure about that. All airlines were trained under "her" back in 1985...darn, can't remember her name, but she went to Delta afterwards. 9-11 broke that mold. They tried her tactics and failed. It's a new world out there. Let's take care of each other. Who's in?

  • im in.

  • AA probaly wanted TWA because IT was famous. Alot of famous people flew TWA.

In Dumb and Dumber, Lloyd takes Mary to the airport. Guess what??? She flew with TWA!

  • It seems that if TWA was doing so well then more than one airline would have stepped forward to bid on all of the awesome assets the company offered. Only American bid for TWA's assets and purchased them from TWA's third bankruptcy filing. As of today, over 1,800 former TWA flight attendants (nearly 50%) have either accepted recall, rejected recall or retired from American and those that have returned are making nearly double what they made their last year at TWA.

  • How DARE you say that about this airline. TWA was a MAGNIFICANT airline who brought love to ALL of their employees. TWA loved them, as they loved TWA.

NEVER insult TWA. That behavior shouldn't even be allowed NEAR this video!!

  • TWA could still be around. American acquired them 5 months and 1 day too early. September 11. Two AA flights were hijacked and crashed. (#11 and #77) This is their slogan after 9/11

"We are an airline that is proud to bear the name American." (Even though we had two planes crash on 9/11)

  • RIP TWA,you deserved better. I'm ticked that American offers a "fake" stereotypical American experience, especially on international flights. It's just...sub-standard,really.

  • if TWA were still in business, what do you think their new Airbus A380 or new Boeing 787 Dreamliner would look like?

  • Seems to me everyone would want to restore the original image of the two globes intersecting only with a modern twist.

If Compton hadn't sold us out, Boeing was putting together a very good package for TWA which included new Boeings. So we probably would not have bought Airbusses with Boeing money.

I guarantee that any new design would be red. Its nice to pretend.

  • i would have loved to see it in their newest colorscheme, or the red & white one.

  • I hope that wasn't An Insult!

  • continued....

Carl Icahn did a lot wrong, but one thing he did do right was fire about 60 TWA vp's. A lesson AA really needs to learn.

An one last comment, at TWA I was treated like an intelligent adult. At AA I was treated like a bad child.

  • While all of the TWA Captains were flying Boeing 747s across the Atlantic, future AA pilots were still learning how to ride bikes with training wheels.

  • you got that rite!

  • I can only imagine how you feel, but cheer up. Many AA FAs are idiots and are being trained in a cult like fashion. AA probably knew that you were part of a generation where FA was a prestigous position. AA has damaged that reputation for FAs. I had a group of broke FAs from AA follow me around begging me to support them. AA is ridiculous. I hope you find a job where women and FAs are treated like people, not like layover material.

  • continued....Our operating costs were pennies compared to AA's. Even the work rules for the AA flight attendants is an antiquated, costly piece of garbage. The TWA F/A's work rules were cost effective, but also empowered those who wanted to make more money (usually the most junior) to fly more and those who wanted time off (normally the most senior) to do so. AA's f/a contract is something out of the dark ages.

  • AA is living in the Dark Ages. I believe they are a very "Male" orientated line. Arpey is a piece of crap and so are some of the pilots. I compare their methods and indoctrination to that of the anti-christ.

  • I have even overheard some of their pilots and FAs claiming to hate "jews" and "blacks". Sick.

  • continued....Now is it fair that the employees became the victims in this acquisition. We were not begging - we had valuable assets. Had AA been smart instead of arrogant - TWA was making a come-back, we were winning JD Powers awards, we were on time and we were operating as a lean mean machine. AA should have invited the TWA people in to see what they were doing right. Instead they told us to keep our mouths shut and do as AA says.

  • continued....

Also keep in mind - at any time Carl would have refinanced TWA - with the requirement that his Karabu ticket deal continue. Looking back - at least with Carl I had an airline, TWA, I had my 35 year career, and I could have worked a few more years to secure a better retirement.American never had any intentions of intergrating TWA, they simply wanted TWA to go away. And the employees were the most expendable. Of course.

  • continued.....

Meanwhile Compton was busy draining the cookie jar by paying off vendors and debt. Why - so that TWA would fall below the $50m cash flow requirement to stay in business and AA could put in their offer with the stipulation that TWA declare bankruptcy. Bankruptcy was needed to rid TWA of Carl Icahn's bogus Karabu tickets which still had more than a year to go.

  • (continued)

Prior to January 2001, TWA was actually making money and returning to viability. December 2000 Boeing was talking to TWA about financial backing and new airplanes. What Boeing made clear was that they did NOT want TWA CEO Compton.

  • Maybe AA should have given TWA LLC the money allocated to TWA by the government because of 9/11 instead of putting it into their own coffers.

TWA did not come to the table empty handed, we had airplanes, we had some of the most desirable routes in the world, and we had coveted terminal and gate locations.

  • In the case of the TWA merger the Urban Myth of what AA did doesn't hold true. Here's why...Merging seniority lists is not a corporate decision; it's a union and contract driven decision. Remember, this was not a merger as AA acquired TWA . As such, it came down to which the unions- not management, directing how to integrate the TW FA's. TW, being the smaller of the two, had less of a voice because AA's rank and file dwarfed them. The APFA were not going to loose face before 21,000 AA FA's.

  • . It's a shame that careers ended with the acquisition but believe me, AA was not the bad guy here. Carl Icon did a number on TW all by his lonesome and set them up for the fall that they took. It's much sexier to blame AA than recalling the years of raiding, 2 bankruptcies, and thousands of furloughs that took place before the acquisition.

  • the acquisition took place in the spring of 2001,before 9/11. The flight attendants were furloughed because of the financial burden AA was in due to 9/11. Would you have thought it fare that someone who applied with AA, was hired by AA, and put in 15 years of their career with AA be furloughed instead?

  • AA owes TWA employees NO seniority over an AA employee. It is pure insanity for someone to think folks from a dead airline should get lucky and skip over the folks that ensured the financial health of AA. TWA was a desperate sale. It had died a long time ago. The whole industry knows it was destined for liquidation had AA not picked up the few pieces left.

  • fuck you dude your are just a loser there are more people who would fly TWA over AA anyday also AA only bought twa cause they were a great competior and they wanted their routes cause TWA had the best in the industry

  • nice language...you obviously know nothing about the airline industry...maybe you should educate yourself a little. I am former Eastern Airlines...So trust me I know what it's like to work for the best. When my airline shut down in 1991 I had to start over. I am now a flight attendant with AA who started over & has worked hard for my seniority of 16 years & I'm not giving it up for anyone.

  • By the way...I work side by side with TWA flight attendants that were recalled. I just worked with one today. I highly respect the TWA flight attendants, and get along very well with them. I don't have to agree on all the issues though. There is a lot of politics involved...something which you obviously know nothing about. All you have as a flight attendant, as far as rank, is your seniority...as history shows, without it a flight attendant could loose their job.

  • why the heck would you post such a comment in a video about such a great airline with everyone whos watching it loving TWA as well?

  • As of today, November 1, 2007; the flight attendants union at AA has been in aggressive communication with the company on the recall of the TWA flight attendants. As of today, 660 flight attendants have been notified of recalls. The union is continuing in all its efforts for more recalls in the future.

  • AA was updating its fleet until 9/11 when it ran into financial troubles. Just recently AA has notified Boeing that it intends to begin pulling forward the delivery of 47 737s. The first three aircraft are expected to arrive in early 2009, with the timing of the remaining aircraft deliveries dependent upon a variety of factors, such as American's financial condition and the health of the economy and the airline sector.

  • Wanna make a bet if they arent then who is they are in they worst shape they havent ordered new planes in god only know when

  • noeone talk $hit about TWA!!! I might not have been arround to fly with TWA BUT IT IS THE BEST!!!!!

  • then also dont talk shit about American. American is a great airline.

  • rite

  • have you been smoking crack?!?!? american is rated the worst airline for domestic and international HELL southwest is america's number one airline in flights they fly more than and american and they are only domestic get your facts straight american gives america a bad name

  • Just for the record-

I did not mean the employees of TWA nor the video blew-I meant all you idiots who posted bullshit replies..

And who asks 'what song was that'??

Please tell me I misread that one...

  • what song is that?

  • Fleetwood Mac "Tell Me Sweet Little Lies"

  • Iwas part of the filght crew with Wester Airlines. We were the second to bit the dust do to a greedy man. Thses men who have destroyed our careers and dreams should be punished. Western, TWA, PanAm will be missed. GREAT air travel is gone!

  • cool vid

  • American so totally f'ed up TWA, I will never fly them!

  • TWA still lives in our hearts and on to the future,i once flew from sju to aruba and had a great time.

  • I still miss TWA to this day - and I am in St.Louis!

Lambert Airport's soul has been ripped apart since TWA left. :(

    R.I.P Trans World Airlines

AA: you will NEVER EVER be TWA.

  • If anyone is interested I have two websites about TWA. One is the history of TWA flight attendants and the other is about TWA Flight 843, L1011 plane crash 1992.

Youtube does not allow URL's to be posts, so I suggest you google twa flight 843, and twa flight attendants.

    Enjoy!

  • You can post it in your video description and it will show

  • TWA = THE WORLDS AIRLINE

  • agree- That Wonderful Airline

  • Had the chance to Fly TWA and choose UA I regret it to this day :' < I wish I chose diffrently......

  • HI! I'm just a passenger. the one that flew TWexpress 15 years ago. 4Flights,4Pepsi and 4 unforgetable smiles, I had from TWA crew. THANK YOU ! I still remember all that.

  • it was sad day when the sky nAAzis took 'em over :-(

  • The film was phenomenal...brought back so many memories and nestolgia, my friend and I were watching it and we feel that even if a person lives to be a 100, they would never have the life experience that TWA has given us during our 25 years of flying, we hope our fellow co-workers are doing well.

  • Nice video - I spent 30 years with TWA based in the UK and enjoyed every minute - Great memories - Keep those memories alive. Cheers Alan Whetlor

  • UGH! American Airlines and Bill Compton should be ashamed. As a Flight Attendant for an airlne currently in bankruptcy, it's clear they will do whatever to get money they want...even if it means selling out your employees. I can NOT bring myself to fly AA. I have so many friends that were TWA, I can't forgive the AA employees for their "ahh, whatever" attitude.

Thanks for the great video! I have forwarded it to all of my TWA friends!

  • No, guys like Carl Ichan, Chuck Tillinghast and the bozos who spent the airlines money buying Hilton and Century 21 should be ashamed.

  • Oh I think there is room in that group for Compton who took the money and ran letting everyone else get screwed.

  • I was a pilot for TWA until the end. My memories of TWA will last with me forever.

  • Let the kid have his dreams it might come true i think if you assholes supported him then it might happen im behind you kid and i will for sure be the 1st to be on TWA the best damn airline in the industry and something funny even after 6yrs of not being in service they still have more expirence than american airlines and btw Fuck off AA

  • cannotouchthis:

If TWA were the best damn airline in the industry they would still be in business.

  • We choose to believe the airline was the people who did the work, not all of those who over the years mismanaged and then stripped it bare.
