MY COUSIN IS CENTER SNARE!!! GO TYLER!!! haha too bad you gave up drummin man.
Speaking of Blue Man Group music, check out the indoor drumline I'm in. Verdigris Indoor Drumline from Irmo, South Carolina. Our show was based off the Blue Man Group. Watch our CIPA Finals video on youtube. I'm the outside left tenor. Or your right. The dude with the long hair.
I am one of those people who thinks a real Winter Drumline is 3s, 2t, 5b, and cymb... and you guys are working with about that... and I mean working. It is a very nice show.
A real winter drumline is a line with good musicians, a nice concept, nice theme, sound, and drill. It doesn't matter how many people you have. You guys had all of that. Im from Jeffersonville indiana and our line performs in class A. Hope to see you in person soon. GREAT JOB!!
i wish that were true... but sometimes I see drumlines that are way too big... they just can't work with what they have. too much of everything... and if they would just cut down... it be much better. Everyone can't play snare and tenors... and not everyone can make the line. So for some drumlines... size can really hold them back
That not always true, the problem isn't until you try to march horrible players. I think if you have 5 good snare players you should march them with three talented tenors and 5 good basses. As long as the drill isn't cluttered with people. Talent can cover up most things.
yeah, but some lines have like 8 good snares for two years... and they do well with them, but then the following year they only have about 4 good ones and they try to keep their 8 snare image. Its stupid... not every winter drumline can be RCC.
what i think is important is to have less than 5 snares, less than 5 tenors, about 5 bases, about 3 cymbals, good drumset, and good mallets. then stick the rest into stuff like tambourine and triangle.
