The 3800 turbos were built at the Buick engine plant that was here in Flint Mi. My ex father in law was an engine tester. The one that made way to the GNX were tweaked by McClaren. Another thing I loved was we had a bracket racing team in high school that ran 2 T-TYpes and 1 G.N., they did pretty dang good. Thanks to GM for there donations to our school back in the 80's!!

I just discovered this video and I love it. I bought two 87 GN's new in 87. One for me an one for the wife. We still have hers. 100% stock. I really like seeing what others have done with these cars, but I still get a big kick out of our stock one. It will only put down a hundred foot of rubber on a nice cold day instead of a football field of it, but I don't go through tires as fast either. Great stuff, just great. By the way, I am also a little old school on the music. I think it is perfect!

@jimikestell1 you do know there are buick gnx with well over 1000hp, and remember they made a lot more torque then horse power, no stock chassis is going to hold up to that for the price the car was sold at come on it's a car from the 80's lol, and there is nothing wrong with the zr1 only reason I could see anybody not wanting it is if they hate U.S. cars but even the guy from top gear who hate U.S. cars loved it even though he tried his hardest not to lol

I have a GN, but I have seen a white T-Type with chrome package and a grey one with the blackout option and they both looked GREAT. There are some crazy looking ones out there though. Options that never should have been.

turbo SBC where use because it was easier to replace and rebuild. Then LSX based motors came around and it would be use because It was better then using a stage 2 Buick or TA Performance block
