If you used Battle animations instead of battlecharsets, you could have all of Clest's sword in there, adn have very lengthy special attacks. And ignore rpglikerx. But it'd take about as long to make one in a programming language, which is a better use of my time. And yes, it is GOOD as is, but only GOOD. So uh...You're remaking Tales of Phantasia? Except with no Linear Motion Battle System? That sounds like a huge step down to me. Not to mention that namco has already killed ToP with a bunch of remakes that don't improve the system all that much.
But what this boils down to is: What will this have that I can't get by merely emulating it on the PS1/SNES/GBA/PSP?
Turn-based fighting? The other thing Tales of Phantasia isn't.

it's your choice if you don't like my vid. yes it's impossible to do LMBS with 2003 but tales of phantasia (the original) is good not only for this.

Actually it is very hard to make a Linear Motion Battle System. It takes alot of time and only experts can do somtin like that.
