@MomoTheStrange Animation with actual moving stills was invented in China by Ting Huan (zoetrope)... there would be no anime without him. Besides, in Japan, anything that is animated is considered "anime". They use the term the way we use "cartoon" to refer to anything animated that isn't Japanese, even though it's all the same thing just with different styles of drawing and storytelling. I like anime myself though, and I'm not bashing Japan or trying to make Chine seem "superior".
@SaiKoSeSu Also, you people who hate China because of what they see on Fox News or because of how their government was over thirty years ago, should "shhh". No country is perfect, but China at least deserves *some* credit for having stuck around over 5,000 years, and remains a powerful global entity. That's pretty freaking spectacular. I, an American, have never been there myself, and most other Americans who blindly hate on them never have either. They're still people like you and me.
I believe the animation itself will catch up pretty soon but the Chinese animation industry does need more good writers and storyboard artists. (Not enough I think if they're commitioning to other countries)And more new stories instead of the retelling of classical literature.
The Chinese needs to target a market within Asia and promote Asian centric cartoon. The large population in Asia is enough to catapult any industry. Japanese cartoons are really white looking, which is sad.
I hope China does catch up soon. I mean Japan got their whole style of anime from Disney. So I think other Asian countries will start their own cartoon animation.
China is already catching up pretty fast. Go to my channel and see some of the Chinese animation that are pretty much influenced by Japanese and American animation.
However, quality animation in China is very few compared to Japan and America, they still need improvement on the storyline content and hopefully less restriction from their government in controlling the media.
Japan and American animation will always reign dominant! Though, american animators need to learn some stuff from anime. Conversely, anime artists can learn some stuff from american animators aswell. The style anime carries can just get way too generic while animation in america can get way too LSD-like, get my drift? Kaiba is a good example for change of style, even though the framerate sucks in all its simplicity. It looks like it's for kids, but the story is pretty deep in drama lol.
Al Jazeera is so much more interesting than American news. Our news is garbage. I now know why they talked so much junk about Al Jazeera- Al Jazeera actually has serious journalistic standards while NBC/ABC/CBS are a complete joke.
China makes an animation with a National Policy. That isn't idea as entertainment/artist/creator at all. It's based on Chinese typical idea; "Animation must be making a big PROFIT/MONEY!"
Japanese animator doesn't make an animation to gain money. WE SINCERELY LOVE ANIME and WE DEVOTE OURSELVES TO DO CREATE!!!! It's different essentially. So, invitation often comes from China, but a Japanese animator dislikes going to China. Me too! ... This is an opinion as a Japanese animator.
I doubt what you say cyb004. Everyone does something to earn money. So are you saying Japanese artists are willing to work for free to entertain others? Then how will they survive? Like I say before, everyone does something to earn profit. Don't be ignorant and pick on a certain group.
Yes, you are right. That's true, everyone has to earn money to make living.. In general.
But, you never know about animater's daily life in Japan. So, you got skeptical maybe... Might you mean all the person involved of Anime? Winner is always an agency, authorship, sponsor, publisher and a producer, etc. after all. It isn't derived to an animator-side so much, so some creators even have extra
It's pretty painful work. But almost NOBODY leaves, and that's the big point I mentioned. Because everyone loves to create basically and also their artworks may be able to make the people enjoy... No one is creating a work to export from the beginning like China. That's what I wanted to say. "What does animator have for its motivation?" I commented by the angle of the feature of Japan and China.
Also, Don't lose our viewpoint. China is communism. Chinese animator's income as national project is guaranteed by CCP. I don't believe communist's anime anyway. There is no possibility of making anime without ANY essence/aim of propaganda. Who see it? So dangerous. N-Korean animation is a good reference.
"whats a zipper eyes?" if you want to insult me in english, at least know how to properly spell contractions and have good grammar, you fucking moron. but once again, all you know how spell is "ching chong" and "ping pang pong" hahaha, that's probably your name. i'm sorry if i'm being racist, i'm usually not racist, but when you call my country gay, i will obstruct yours with logical reason and humiliate it to the ground. now fuck off chink, i'll die fighting you before you become a superpower
I believe that is correct English, or do you not use contractions. Goes to show how all you Americans are hypocritical and stupid, or is that a gross generalization?! I dont think so. Ching, chong and ping pong? Is that all you stupid Americans can come up with? HA you cannot prevent China's rise we already create everything in your walmarts all your obese ( which is like 90 percent of you flock to) So then again we could just wage war on you economically and you would get owned
that wasn't the point, retard. you were using contractions incorrectly and had horrible grammar. and don't tell me it's because english is your second language, because i'll tell you that i'm as fluent in arabic as i am in english, and i'm becoming fluent in spanish. and besides, chinese isn't even a language, it has no alphabet and uses symbols as it's words. so there you have it, you got owned again.
Oooooh ever heard of slang or do you always have a dick up your ass so you would need to be so anal about it? I am already fluent in English, I see you are fluent in stupid no one cares if you are good at Spanish or Arabic neither the Arabs nor the Mexicans like some stuck up, American shit like yourself. Uh look up the definition of language retard, before you even had a written alphabet, given to of course by the Phoenicians.
alright bra, if slangs wut u want, its wut u get. ima stop wasting my time talking 2 u. seems like u hav nuttin betta 2 do in china other than the hentai porn on ur cumputer, haha, get it? but seriously man, get a life. ill c u round
I agree. Just to name a few famous monkeys, King Kong, Donkey Kong, and the monkeys from Tarzan. It is guaranteed that if you have a monkey as a main character in your animation, your business will sky rocket.
temuruskeepaa has great points: A news studio's supposed cartoon preferences are "dangerous" and will cause "a global disaster". Therefore, we should all be greatly concerned.
Then how can you stereotype all Japanese and Koreans are good artist? But I can assure you a lot of Chinese are very good at drawing because it's a requirement for them to learn this skill in pre school.

Al Jazeera isn't telling you that being on the top doesn't really mean skill of artistic achievements, but just a monetary business hegemony, which prevents other artists from around the World from getting public attention. That's how Al Jazeera is a dangerous and lying source of information.
heh, this is funny, from the perspective of an artist. Al Jazeera is a big company like any big company. Since when did big business understand artistic merit? if they didn't get some kind of award, there's nothing else to judge art on except money, (which I think sucks, but its how rich people with no taste work.)
Further more, what's wrong with a story about China's animation studios trying to become a leader in its own country. Why do they have to feed other cultures to their children?
No, the real problem with the Al Jazeera video is that it teaches it's (mass) audience, to regard shadowy business interests as some artist's achievements and to defend those achievement against all mutiny from anywhere but the three corners of the World. It is a global disaster, not some intuitive question about something that might be a little questionable.
So what language do you speak Quake110? Everyone has their opinion over something and it's ignorant to say you prefer one language over another. In my opinion, evey language is beautiful and unique.
Ignorant? Rude? Not at all! It would be ignorant to say that one is superior to the other. Saying that one PREFERS one language over another is a PREFERENCE and therefore, as you say, an opinion. He's quite welcome to his preferences, and if you think he isn't, you're nothing short of a dictator.
Note in particular that he did not insult the Chinese language in any way, only expressed his preference.
Nah, it's pretty much turbo-suicide capitalist at the moment with a one party system. Not communist.
The one party system is working well in terms of making China environmentally sustainable, because there is just so little relative bureaucracy compared to say, the US, but the neo-classical economic capitalist part is another story.
Thank God there are people in this world that understand this. I live in the south, and all I hear is "Communism is going to eat your babies and make everyone SLAVES". Very sad bunch
People have been growing up and hearing around them that Communist is evil, bad, doom, and destroyer to society! Of course they not gonna have a positive feeling toward communist! Political ideologies have no view of evil or good, it's just a way of governing a society! No body said communist is the greatest, but try to look for it yourself then judge beyond what you received!
I have actually read the Communist Manifesto. Its really funny to me because Communism, in Marx time, was considered to be a utopia that was un-achievable. Now, because of fear mongering propaganda, people have a misconception of it.
Yep that's right!! moreover, Karl Marx has written many books It has nothing to do with eat your babies and make everyone SLAVES! lol Well bascally Karl Marx ideology has pussied off many Liberals!!! however, his argument about Capitalism that in the extreme of Capitalism, there will be classes struggle!! im sure most chinese people including myself don't consider china as a communist country anymore. governments even not communist anymore, its just a technocratic single-party state with a capitalist economy. canada's more communist, well actually more socialist since communism doesnt really exist
"Orwellian" government policies don't just apply to "communist" countries. I'm just saying that China's government no longer follows the Communist ideology, not saying that its a "free" society.
