can you do all this with a manufactured black controller from microsoft? is it the same thing as white?please resond and tell me if i wash then use 600 grit sand paper then wash again on the black controllers :)

@DownThenUp good question! the black controllers should be treated just like the white controllers. but when you go to paint, do a base coat of white (so that when you add color it will be its true color and not darkened by the black.)

@MyCustomXbox @DownThenUp I actually just used Krylon Fusion to paint a black controller. Did the white base coat, added some masking to make tiger stripes, then went over with blue paint. Turned out absolutely phenomenal, except I got some over spray on my stripes. I like it. Blue with white Tiger Stripes, looks SICK!

Lmaoo im not going to ruin my control just buy one and let a professional do the work then when your hands starts sweating your hands are going to change color and the paint WILL FALL OFF that paint isnt for that type of material

If it doesn't say Fusion on the can then I wouldn't use it. That's what an agent from Krylon told me when I called them.

Just be patient and wait until you are able to get the "Krylon Fusion Clear"

3 light coats of adhesion promoter (3 minutes between each coat). After the last coat of adhesion promoter wait about 7 minutes then start your first coat of paint. Just make sure it's before 10 minutes when you apply your first coat of paint.

I have attempted chrome paint or the anodized look from duplicolor and so far I am not impressed. Do you have any suggestions of paints and how to layer it correctly in order to get the following desired effects: Chrome, Gold, Blue Chrome, Green Chrome, Red Chrome etc.

If you could help me out with that i would REALLY appreciate it, also how to you make it so button holes do not get clogged? am i layering on to much paint?

@maddingo6 you can use what you want, but the outcome is your choice, we recommend duplicolor autospray, its not the only paint that will work but its what we have found to be the best.

i used Krylon fusion regular paint and the clear paint, and the paint is kind of rubbery... what did i do wrong. I put on the coats of regular krylon fusion, waited 6 hours, and applied the clear. and after 3 hours it has dried but is rubbery. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I DID WRONG!!!!!

In this video you say that there's not enough Adhesion Promoter built into Krylon Fusion paint, if I don't use Adhesion Promoter will it be detrimental to the final product? I'm planning on doing my Xbox and controller with Krylon Fusion and Clear Coat. Will that be enough? Will it chip and fall apart? Wil duplicolor acryllic enamel clear coat work on this? and how would i coat it right with it? Because i use krylon, and i used rust-o-leum clearcoat and it sucked. then i used duplicolor and it last a solid 2 months, then starts slightly peeling. how can i stop that?

@ATreeFairy here is what we recomend, -first do the 1sr coat with adhesion promoter, let it dry, your paint(dupli color autospary works best) then use the acrylic lacquer clear, make sure you put on good light coat and let it dry inbetween each coat.

Hey, the only place I can find Krylon paint is at Wal-mart and they don't have the adhesion promoter or the same clear coat that you use, but i wanted to know if this clear coat works the same: Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear Paint. Also I wanted to know where i could find the adhesion promoter.

i had painted my 360 controller all black with silver punisher skulls on both the handles. It came out looking great. the only thing is i had put about 3 clear coat to protect it and it still seems to easily get scratched when i sit it down. is there a specail kind you use. and an other thing i had painted the silver on the controller first to get the punisher skull then i painted it black with the stencil on it. the black seems to have a different texture than the silver coat is that normal?
