I dont really like bryan's. its sounds a bit funny. thats just my opinion.. sorry :) but this one particularly, the voice, goes up and down, and the tone, and the.. i dont know, sounds just too perfect, and it really made me cry. really did touched me. I LOVE THIS ONE. glad i found this one.

I don't like many old time songs; but this one is darn good. What a treat to have the lyrics there - The late, great, Sam Cooke. Rod frequently talks about how Sam brings tears to his eyes ( i been there too). Sam Cooke was such a monster talent, his story is amazing. For me the best version of this song is Bryan Ferry's; I would never have "gotten" this song without hearing him do it. I wish Rod would have found a more modern, treatment; cuz I find this version a little boring. still love it.

I disagree about Rod's version being boring. But I too loved Bryan Ferry's version in the past. However, his video on YouTube is bizarre - very self conscious and pretentious. He sings it best so long as I don't have to watch him do it... lol

(i dont like this guy, cause he's a greasy smooth jazz player, but he's WAY more skills than THIS girl..) so he makes a much much better job on the cd than she does live.. But on television the "view" counts more than the "sound"
