It's good feeling to see a blackman devoting serious effort to guitar, as opposed to you know, fiddling with a drum machine or making artificial rhythm with his mouth. But still...Snoop and Dre kick ass!
i actually stumbled upon this tech trick by mistake, its gnarly as fuck when applyed at the right moment. Good example of this is Dimebags solo in the song "Floods"
They say? your fingers will start to hurt when you first start playing? but for some reason I have been playing for almost 3 years and I have never had this problem. All that happened was I got firmer finger tips. I prefer the lessons at GuitarLessons(dot)TK
great lesson bc i understood harmonics n all dat riff raff but was strugglin wit this so i was doin it harder n harder n i was like wtf...great vid didnt realize it was light like when doin whammy harmonics :) im so happy rolf
Steve Vai performs "For The Love of God" live with the Holland Metropole Orchestra, 2005. From the amazing DVD "Visual Sound Theories" - available through the official Steve Vai websit
It is very important to tap above the "fret-wire" 12 frets above the fretted note. You can also tap on the 5th fret-wire higher and the 7th fret-wire higher than your fretted note to achieve the same result. --- You can just tap the fret wire in all these 3 places without even having to pick the fretted note. but that takes a bit more time with your technique.
This has a higher chance to sound the same, and doesn't have to be used instantly, you can tap it a little later compared to a pinch, which gives a nice touch. Also it's nice that they show this technique exists and works.
Thats sounds awful. the technique is right however its better over the metal fret part

How do you do a Pinch Harmonich
zminker11 2 years ago
Pick the string and carefully touch it with your picking hand thumb. Check out lessons on Youtube.
H057IL3 2 years ago
hold your pick close to the edge so that when u pick, the side of ur side of your thumb should barely brush the string in the process in one motion
VSpectrum 2 years ago
Well, actually it's 'octava harmonic tapping'
I does not make any difference in the use.
