  • I met Robbie in January and had a little chat to him.

    Feel very privileged.

  • the bottleneck guitar style always makes me think of spongebob squarepants for some reason xD

  • one of my hero's of modern day guitar, brilliant all around- thanks for posting !

  • I think it says a lot about John Mayer that such a world class guitarist as Robbie is willing to and happy to play in his band for so many years.

  • still remember him playin' "Robbie's bit (thanks chet)" in florence 20 years ago.... ops there was Paul Maccartney to

  • Man, he's old school. Perfect dude to be with John. I reckon he balances him out.

  • This isn't even close to Robbies best...

  • I hate when people compare musicians... especially when they say someone is better when they really aren't even half as good.I love Robbie... but better than Mayer? haha thats just insanity.

  • Anyone know the name of the song from 1:19 to 1:54?

  • John Mayer is so lucky that he played with Robbie Mcintosh.

  • @BluesBro95 haha you're retarded. He's in John Mayers band because he knows John is 100x more talented haha. You dumbass.

  • @25Ragz

Haha, DUUUUUUH!!!!!! you are such a fool.

  • @BluesBro95 Just making sure you John is better. For a minute i thought you were being an ignorant old dbag that thought John isn't worthy.Johns the best guitar player alive by far.Theres absolutely no competition for John Mayer.

  • @25Ragz

Everybody knows john is the best.

  • Amazing!

  • Amazing playing.

  • Robbie McIntosh>John Mayer

  • @onlyonetigger you're insane. You must be joking or on some serious drugs

  • @25Ragz i'm not. john is a great player but robbie has more talent. truth hurts, eh?

  • @onlyonetigger John is the best guitar player alive an amazing singer song writer plays piano/keyboard harmonica drums and more.He composes all of his own music.John can play every genre of music and play any genre of guitar playing while mixing genres together .John is better than robbie at guitar one handed. You're obviously just an ignorant asshole that knows nothing about John Mayer.Eric Clapton,BB, and rene martinez wouldn't say John mayer is the best around if he wasn't.You're retarded.

  • @25Ragz The only one who sounds retarded here is you. I play guitar, I think John is a great player and singer/song writer. I know he composes all of his music. He cannot play EVERY genre of music, no one can. And if you think so, you're delusional. Eric Clapton and BB King never said he was the best, they just respect him a lot, as do I. Rene said he was, I saw the video where he said that. You need to calm down when someone disagrees with you. I mean, read how you reacted to me. It's funny.

  • @onlyonetigger Im not going to argue any longer. My point is you're really retarded if you think robbie is more talented.I don't care if you like him better but John is clearly more talented..and yes he can play every genre of music.. every genre that matters at least.Name two genres of music you think he can't do and i'll find something that proves that he can.

  • @25Ragz I don't like one over the other. Having played slide, it's my opinion that it is more difficult, and therefore requires more talent to play. Robbie does that and John doesn't, but I'm sure he could. I'm not gonna name genres he can't play. If he talked to you, he would admit he can't play certain genres. He is human, like everyone else. He's a great guitar player, but he's not the best. No one is.

  • @25Ragz cool, brah. if you pick up slide, or maybe even start playing guitar, you'll see what I mean. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @25Ragz Better believe it can be hard, and I've seen that video too. Trust me, not slide. Slide requires an open tuning. He was playing on just one string. Admirable, but not slide. I have my opinion, you have yours. We're done.

  • @onlyonetigger haha yah

  • @onlyonetigger Aw come on! No one>Anyone. It's not a competition. Music>Life, now THAT'S a fact :)

  • @onlyonetigger that is so pointless and boring. Grow up.

  • is that john mayer in the background? haha

  • @49Stories yes it is. =)

  • @49Stories yep. Robbie plays a lot of rhythm and slide guitar for John

  • GREAT PLAYER REALLY NICE BLOKE AS WELL

  • i miss robbie on macca's gig... one of the great rock folk guitarists ever

  • what's the tune he's playing at 1:19?

  • @quilicimusic 'Robbie's Bit (thanks Chet)' from Paul McCartney's 'Paul Is Live'.

  • More people should know Robbie...such a humble guy, and a class act.

  • world champion

  • Dang! he can shred anything with strings!

  • The classiest person on Mayer's stage that's for sure

  • 0:05 when he looks up, "what the hell do you want i'm playing here" :D

  • He looks like Tom Hanks now:)

  • @Yunero

This piece is recorded during the New World Tour in 1993. Robbie was the leadguitarist during that tour of Paul McCartney and performed it.

The song is called Thanks Chet and inspired by Chet Atkins. You can find the song on the Album Paul Is Live (track 6). Next to that he recorded it for his album "Unsung".

  • frickin ace compilation of robbie... ps, does anyone know if thats a baby taylor hes playing at the end? sounds lush...

  • 1:19 Paul McCartney Tour!!!!!!!!

  • I really like this guy. John Mayer is good, but he really brings a lot extra to the band.

  • one of the best around!!

  • i see john!

  • A great player! I remember the days of old at the Bridge House in Canning Town, when Robbie played with Filthy McNasty (Night).

  • genius
