LITeral definition of the word, ( at least in MY experience) a synth usually

has certain controls/features, like a VCF, LFO, ADSR, oscillators, etc...this lil'

Chizbox ain't got none of that .... it's basically a toy. ergo, it is NOT a Synth.

Sounds like a tuning project, based on those pocket size Chinese? "Mini Pianos" sold in the nineties. They cost around 5 guilders, around 2.5 dollars at the time. I remember a product action where you could order one with a "rhythm box". I didn't have it for very long.
