  • have you tryed your local mil surplus store

  • @usmcmajormichael I go to my local one once a month but to be honest its got a pretty poor selection of gear so I usually look on ebay for anything specific.

  • @megasimon999 i hope yo know i build full fit suits vests and bags for poeple if thy tell me all the stuff thy need and give me half of the money and i make a vid just for you so you know im not fucking you and pants jackits and all 5.11 what ever you tell me you need

  • @megasimon999 and i do not get cheap made ass shit i get all the good stuff just for you

  • Nice additions. I went with the cold steel Spetsnaz Shovel. Picked up the SAS guide, and went with a GSI Halulite dualist kit. (Have to feed the wife too!) Check out the GSI Halulite Minimalist, fairly cheap(Approx $25.00)

  • @johnnymean1 Ok I'll check that GSI out thanks

  • Good additions , if you feel you need it bring it!! Then you won't worry on it, less worry means your mentally physically prepped!! Like me :)

  • @ryanrrx cheers!

  • you can easily use your cup with your stove as your cook system. its a BOB right? it should be as small and light as possible. also take a look at the swiss volcano stove. that bottle you have will fit in it perfectly.

  • Nice review. I have similar tri fold shovel with pick attachment works well, also recently acquired s/steel pocket size mini trowel/shovel - sturdy for the size and shape, will review it on my channel soon. Have you thought of trying your hand at making your own shovel pouch from leatherette, once you get the hang of the sewing mchn there's no end to making/improvising you own kit and even clothing.

  • @MINDWISEMAN Thanks, Im thinking of adding a trowel to save weight as the shovel is great but kinda heavy so its currently in my truck.

Making a pouch...I actually can sew so learning to use a sewing machine would be another handy skill. Thanks for the Idea!

  • @megasimon999 Gr8 you can sew...last thing you want is packing the sewing machine in your kit with 3 mile of extension leads :-)

  • Nice additions mega. I've got a lot of catching up to do since I just subbed.

  • @envirosponsible Thanks, Ive since added more gear, I need to do another addition video lol.

    Thanks for subbing!

  • make sure you wash your bandanas a few times before taking them with you, some of them will leech the dye into your water and make it bad.

  • @Deathless2288 Great point and I recently did just this after watching enviroresponsibles video on this exact problem.

    Thanks fr the heads up!

  • Yeah you are right.... I must not have been thinking when I posted that...

  • @mercedesgo1 I think your 900 is better as its bigger, im going to add one to my kit.

I added an MSR stove to my kit .I hear very god things about the trangia stoves for light hiking.

Dont get me wrong i can still cook in my snowpeak and make drinks etc it would just be less at a time.........but man how light are these things!!

  • The water bottle you showed looks like its aluminum. I have a 40oz Kleen Kanteen that is 18/8 stainless, but it was more than $20. For $8, I would think that it is aluminum and I would not cook with it.

You should look into a Jet Boil. Use that to heat water and then pour the water into your Ti cup with soup mix, ramen, or whatever. I use the jet boil and pour the water right into a Mountain House meal. Good way to go, and the only thing to clean is your spoon.

  • @bobapunk Aluminium is actually a great conductor of heat, Im a chef and we use aluminium pans.

Ive since purchased an MSR dragon fly stove

  • i'm sure you can use your titanium mug over an open fire. i suppose this will mess with the nice surface treatment they put on, but it will not ruin your mug in other way.

  • Since filming this I have indeed used this on my esbit stove, it actually conducts heat so well the drinks are too hot!

  • Very very fucking cool

  • Cheers!

  • @Spicymchagis lol

  • thanks for the comment

  • Very nice setup...the snow peak are great little cups....Thanks for sharing the VID with us...

    CJ

  • Cheers thanks for watching, just a small note to this vid, I just made a coffee in the titanium mug and its pretty hard to drink a hot liquid from the one walled version as you burn your lower lip on drinking, have to let it cool I guess, more ice please nurse!

  • Another good vid Simon. I watch them on my iPhone (...in the car!) and don't get to comment much but I watch all your vids and look forward to the progress of your kit. Esp. looking forward to how your cook kit comes out.
