They art conmen (conponies?) thier machine does make good cider, as seen at 3:08. they were just a bit to greedy, and tried to cut corners. but there wasn't any con.

This song reminded me of The Music Man's song, "Ya Got Trouble."

-Both songs have con men (or ponies in this case) trying to convince a town that they need their product.

-Both songs have the singers using "singspeak," and then the town joining in chorus.

-Both songs have chanting (Music Man: "trouble, trouble, trouble;" My Little Pony: "cider, cider, cider.")

The difference between the two is that the cons in MLP got exposed. In the Music Man, he went clean and fell in love. :)
