It's interesting how music takes you back to when we used to think things were complicated and everyone hoped the future would be better. Instead, today, we out-matched those old difficulties in life, but a factor of ten. Everything was made in the USA, you could get a job, quit, and get another job overnight, and family meant something. Now, the world hates our country with probable cause, you can't use your degree to get any job, and families are broken and separated. What's next?
My mom used to have the song purple haze on a record player, unplugged, and it started going round and round playing jimmi hendrix when it wasnt plugged in, or working e.o pretty scary ass shit.
@bekala1 Ahh. If they played it at my school everyone would be turning their noses up at them. I'd be raving to the Beatles. It's sad to think my generation (10 year olds) think like that.
I never knew Brown Eyed Girl was a 60's song until now! My mom used to play it all the time whenI was a kid and I never looked it up. Always thought it was an indie song from the early 80's.
Thank you for your effort and sharing...brings back lots of great memories for me....I lived the era of this music...spent alot of time at the Filmore West in San Francisco, wonderful times and wonderful friends !
Every one knows who these artist are and a lot of them are long dead. And every one will know their name 50, 100, 300 and even 1000+ years from now (If humans are still around). No one will remember this Ice cube, kanye west, lil kim, Kesha, bullshit 1 year from now. CLICK THE THUMBS UP THINGY IF YOU AGREE!!!

@brownrecluse446 I know there's a lot of great bands that could have been included and weren't. I hope you understand though that this was first and foremost a school project and therefore had to cater to what a high school class would enjoy hearing. I had a huge list of 60s songs I had put together and these are some of the top songs that they chose. Maybe I'll do another video that showcases more of the great 60s bands.

@ninchan2 I know there's a lot that I could have included and didn't. There was a lot of talent in the sixties. As it was though, this was for a school project and I was already WAYYYY over the time limit. I had to go first and play this as people entered the classroom to even be able to show the video. The Doors? The Band? The Grateful Dead? Janis Joplin? Buffalo Springfield? Arlo Guthrie? Bob Marley? Hell, Bo Diddley was still around along with a lot of other blues legends (who's music, together with the beat generation, SHAPED music from the 60s), for that matter.
But no, the Beach Boys and the Supremes are just as good, right?
