  • I personally live and breathe music. I love all music no matter what genre. I do not like for people to fight over something dumb unless they fight about chord progressions and theory because you learn that way. Jazz and blues are indeed very close in terms of origin and musical understanding. But they are different.

  • thank u :)

  • don't forget your major 7th on that 5th baby

  • you got that all wrong

  • First you need to stop speaking through your nose, then you need to play something recognizable as the Thrill Is Gone if your going to name your video that.

  • @ZeppelinFan6980 i think you didnt understand he explain to play the =BASE of the music not the solo and yes its correct i tested its perfect this lesson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah BB king is short for Big jazz king

  • Ok, a little harmony now. V7 of /something/ must have a diatonic root, and it is dominant for a chord with a root a perfect 5th below. G7 is dominant for C chord -major or minor. There's no C in key of B minor.

And yes, this song is the blues, dammit.

    Over that G7 use a lydian b7 scale (G A B C# D E F G) for a jazzy sound. @NicktheBluesMan the chord is 7 and not a maj7 on purpose, it has a different color than the Gmaj7, which would be diatonic here.

  • Expert village are just a bunch of medioker people who don't know a sh#t

  • i think the 6th chord G, would sound better as a G major 7th instead of a dominant 7th chord. its just a tip when playing this proggression

  • @NickTheBluesMan1 This tune needs the G dominant 7th. G major 7th would take this tune off course.

  • @Nickdeltone but with the dominant 7th there is an F natural which gives it an altered sound but i dont think its really clear that he is playing that F natural instead of the F# in the G chord so it dosent really affect the sound but i think that the G major 7th matches

  • howie?

  • its.... called.... BLUES! so get tht "jazz" outt of it!

  • wooo...hold on... 5 of 3?...wtf? its the flat 6 of the key. just a regular minor blues ending...what a moron. lmao.

  • An instructor one explained to me, "The Blues is jazz, it's just that it's one small section of the jazz disciplin". I thought that was well stated.

  • It's different: all real guitar music came from the Blues. Thus, jazz came from the blues. Blues is king, just like BB, Hendrix, Clapton.

  • The thrill is gone is definitely not jazz, it's blues

  • @Koreanflow 0:18

    now shut the fuck up

  • @Koreanflow bb king plays jazz too not only blues............

  • ha one two tree four, gottta love those french accents

  • Curtis Mayfield's Right on for the Darkness. Sounds exactly like it.

  • it's no secret that there are certain chords, like for example bm7,em7 and so forth that are kinda standard chords in blues songs.Still, there are a million ways to play em.However, "thrill is gone" doesnt sound anything like "ain no sunshine" imho.Anyway, this video doesnt sound anything like bb kings thrill is gone either, since he doesnt really play chords the normal way, he plays single strings.I recall him sayin to Bono "i cant play chords".

I guess that's why this vid is called "jazzguitar".

  • E' Interessante lo trovo un arrangiamento molto delicato del brano di BB.King

It's interestin I found it a very "soul" arrangement of BBKing song.

    Giuliano IEZZI

  • you're an idiot strandwolf, go to the porn sites where artistic appreciation is not required

  • It's just a minor blues.

  • Blues

BB king & Gary Moore -Thrill is gone

    Youtube check it out

  • there are so many versions of these song, I didn't know this one. There is some sort of funky touch in yours, I love it. Thanks.

  • i meant "this" and not "these"..

  • sounds good to me

  • It's the b5 sub for the secondary dominant to the V.this guy is an idiot.

  • its cause hes teaching a blues song as a jazz song. blues is feel not just technique

  • No it's cause he's an idiot.Jazz is about feel as much as or more than any other form of music and why would you try to divorce feel from technique?

  • i love that song by BBKing. Thanks for this lesson dewd.

  • cool ma now i can play thrill is gone coz of this vid n u man love u!!

  • you're a dip. there are good lessons all around you on you tube. you call yourself a pro?
