i have a question: when i have downloaded the installation of a PC game for my mac it wont allow (i havent downloaded the vmware yet) and up pops some symbol..thingy. so if i download this will it download the game i just wanna download?
@konni1231 Downloading applications or games has nothing to do with Mac or Win7. Windows applications get installed on your VMware Windows Section of your Mac and mac applications get installed on the mac side of things
@AreWeMuslims It really depends on the specs of your machine, but yes you are correct in that bootcamp will be faster since it will be running purely as a Windows Machine.
Hey man... Grateful for you vid, I finally installed Win7 on my MBP. But it's been bugging ever since as well...
Well, I don't know if it happened to you but ever since the Win7 installation, my system mouse cursor (in Mac environment) has changed. The cursor appears to be a Windows cursor when you point you mouse to any links. It stays the same as Mac mouse cursor when you move it around.
@macmiz I haven't used McAfee on my system, I'm actually using Avast Free and it works well. I know I've had to disable the Avast during some Installations on my Win7 image, but I've had to do that on a actually win7 machine before so no real difference. My system works perfectly and its more stable than my Win7 Laptop and the mouse isn't an issue at all. I'm wondering if your problems are VMWare related or actually Win7 Related.
@BMSWEB Hmmm... what it really bugs me is the the mouse cursor now. do you think reinstall the entire Snow Leopard system and then VMWare would help? lol. I am really kinda lost now...
@macmiz Its really hard to say why youre having these problems. I actually went down this path because a friend works as the main IT support person for a labelling company and on all their iMacs they run VMWare fusion because they still need Win7 for some apps. In any case they have no problems at all. I'm running it on all our Macbooks with the exception of my Wife's one and no probs at all. In fact I've decided we wont be buying PC's again because there is no need for them when Mac can do both
@macmiz I've installed Win3.11 through to Windows 7 and everything in between a thousand times over and I as blown away at how smooth the whole process went. If you're only going to be using light applications like Excel it will run perfectly! I'm usually running 4 or 5 apps on Win7 while running about 4 or 5 also on the Mac and it all holds up perfectly. Since using VMWare Fusion I've actually come to the conclusion we will never buy another PC again! . . EVER!

You have a "Floppy 4.5 " icon on your Windows 7 desktop! Do they still make those floppies?

@AreWeMuslims I didn't notice that, but if it was there its not anymore :)

If I install it in bootcamp, can I still run it through VMware for light work but in BootCamp when video editing stuff (which needs a lota RAM).???
Thanks for your help.

@macmiz Did you also install the VMWare Tools on your Win7 Installation? This should fix any bugs
BMSWEB 9 months ago
@BMSWEB Yeah, Thanks for replying. I did install the tools, however when it prompts to install McAfee, it failed hundreds times. lol.
So, your mouse cursor is all good?
cheers.

@1210saad Yes Aero in Win7 works fine. Windows is 100% functional. Unless you're gaming this is a fantastic solution.
