  • I like Obama, but I also like McCain, I think McCain probably would have been better, the problem was Palin. I couldn't vote for that dumbass if it would have made me rich. I think McCain lost enitrely because of her. And rightly so, terrible choice. When she speaks, I want to vomit. At least Obama is full of" well spoken" bullshit, instead of retarded alaska bullshit.

  • evil doesnt exist its just a word. human nature is to kill so the individual survives. Like is a lion evil when it kills a zebra. Bears and chimpanzees kill each other is that evil? no

  • lol @ lesserof2evils & divineintervener

  • If mcCain were president we would be in a fight with N, Korea, and Iran by now he would shoot first and think later

    warmonger

  • I guess the benefit of Obama as President is by the time we do get into a fight with North Korea and Iran they'll have a full stock of nukes ready to go.

  • i hope you dont think war is the answer to everything. and we are no in charge of the world we are only a country. that's why everyone hates us because we are the worlds hall monitors. perhaps if we keep our nose out of everyone elses affairs we would not need to be so paranoid about this one and that one blowing us up.

another american with a false sense of entitlement jesh

  • Another American with a false sense of entitlement. I suppose you're one of those people who think we should have welfare and all those other entitlements... It is not a false sense of entitlement to protect American interests. Especially when those interests include not allowing an aggressive enemy to obtain a weapon that can kill vast numbers of Americans.

  • here we go with the invisible WoMD

  • I'm looking at an MSNBC article that says weapon grade uranium found in Iraq. The article was posted in 2008. I'm looking at another article that says 500 WMD's containing Sarin and Mustard gas have been found since 2003. This was posted in 2006. But invisible is right because no one noticed these articles. Including you...

  • obama's response was such garbage and bullshit. mccain was strong and said "defeat it.......if i have to go to the gates of hell i will get osama" NICE. that's why i'm voting for mccain. obama's got nothing 2 say. he's full of bullshit and doesn't love America.

  • "No one should be able to take away thousands of american lifes" Except George Bush!

You are one of the idiots aren't you? You have no free will and will go with whatever these rich assholes cram up your ass. Either you are buying the bullshit and have no shred of common sense whatsoever or you are racist!

  • people are so ignorant and umbfounded.. talkin about religion and what have u..look at the big pic. this whole world is evil. evil comes in all forms possible. some are direct (3rd world countries-Bin Laden) and some are inadvertantly (AMERICA) wake up and see the big picture.. and stop lookin through egocentric perspectives

  • You poor, scared, paranoid little children.

  • Easily answered for anyone who can think for thier self....McCain has conviction....Hussein only preaches "hope".

If you don't believe in something, you will fall for anything....which apparently most of the viewers here have done.

  • I agree. It's obvious that there will always be evil. But does that mean we throw the towel in? No. You fight evil and you fight to defeat it no matter how impossible it is. That's conviction.

  • evil exists and george bush is living proof. he killed sdam but he cant find osama bin laden...yeah right.....

  • John McCain is a warmonger, plain and simple my friends.

One thing you people have to understand, is that ONLY through education can evil be defeated. Guns, bombs, and taking lives in general will never, ever defeat evil, because those things in themselves are evil.

Look at the situation in the Middle East, do you think that we are defeating evil? No. We're dropping bombs on the children while we murder their fathers. Do you think that's defeating evil? WAKE UP AMERICA, WE ARE THE EVIL.

  • Obama does have a sensible response. I agree with deathisglorious that McCain is a warmonger. My respect for him has diminished since he selected SP for his running mate. It is hard not to respect someone who has given so much for his country. I do question his ability now that he has chosen a woman with so little Statesmanship. If something happens to him while in office he is willing to put us in her hands. No way.

  • Yes, the Air Force spends billions finding the precise locations of children so they can bomb them.

Civilian casualties are an unfortunate reality of war. It doesn't mean that evil should not be confronted with firepower. Showing terrorists a powerpoint given by University Professors on how their actions hurt people won't make a difference. Destroying them utterly will.

  • how's that bushism working for you so far.

bush is a member of skull and bones, their motto is war, their deity is goddess of death, they drink out of a human skull and their clubhouse is a tomb. it's a hint. but then again your just trolling aren't you.. truth doesn't interest you

  • Obama had a sensible response.Only the almighty can defeat Evil.JOHN MC is not the ALMIGHTY.We must take care ourselves not to become evil to defeat evil.

  • News Flash: Evil cannot be defeated! It will always exist, and it is imperative that we take every precaution to keep evil acts from being done. We cannot go into the world with the mindset that we can somehow "defeat" all evil that stands in our way. We have brewed much hatred for America by using these very policies. Our first objective should be defense, and yes, bringing retribution to the doers of evil like Bin Laden. However, things like the "freedom fight" in Iraq misguide Americans.

  • So McCain wants to end the evil of radical Islamic terrorism. This is a fine goal to have, but I refuse to vote for the man on grounds that he has absolutely no understanding of how to properly accomplish this.

This is an ideological war. The real battlefield is the human mind, and we're not going to win this by shooting all the bad guys. Love it or hate it, it's going to take some diplomacy to end this.

  • I think Obama is correct..he was looking at evil as a wider term...multiple types..confronting evil allows theo choice on what the course of action should be..to destroy it, confine it, treat it, or stop it.

Mccain seems to consider the term evil a quiestion about terrorism not evil in general. He's playing on the terrorism issue saying he will chase Osama down to the gates of Hell. The people there didnt seem to understand that Obama would most likely confront each case of evil differently.

  • does john mccain think hillary supporters are stupid enough to fall for his vp choice? i supported hillary for her views, not her gender!!!! gender was just a perk!

  • Ok then. Don't vote for John McCain. Problem solved. Instead, vote for the party that cast Hillary aside.

  • "Confront it *silence*"

    "DESTROY IT! *applause*"

I think that demonstrates clearly enough. :)

  • you don't "destroy evil." that is a retarted absolute and perfect for the religious richt and black and white thinkers like bush and mccain. Obama realizes that to many countries including those people who have become "terrorists" we have caused much more death and pain then they ever could. It takes diplomacy and us working with people to better their lives so they don't become terrorists. If their lives weren't awful they wouldn't feel the need to lash out. We can not police the world anymore.

  • So, why try right? You can't defeat evil, so just confront it. Like confronting someone who cut you in line. Just say, "Excuse me, you were out of line" and all will be made better. The terrorist will stop strapping bombs to retarded women and stop giving AK-47's to children. Right?

  • What exactly caused the nauseating feeling here? Was it simply the WAY Obama said: "we need to confront it." ? You won't solve things by talking tough and using extreme force like Bush & co have done in the past. Anyone can see it has made matters worse. You need a cool-headed person at the helm this time. Someone who won't be led to evil himself and drag the country along with him. Someone capable to at least undo past mistakes.

  • Obama's suggestion for dealing with evil are the same as the way one would deal with a boss who won't give you a raise. Or how to deal with that classmate who mocks you at school. You don't deal with Islamic crazies by "confronting" them. You don't stop abusive parents (his example) by "confronting" them. You kill the Islamic terrorists and imprison the abusive parents until they're old and grey.

  • What's your suggestion ? Hitting the boss with a baseball bat and crippling that classmate in some other fashion ?

First of all, him speaking about confronting evil in general terms does not exclude the use of force nor judicial punishment. Killing terrorists and putting people behind bars is in there. But by then you were already too late. The terrorists shouldn't have been there in the first place. The parents should have been dealt with before they crossed the red line. It takes more

  • than one individual to pick up the signals and take the appropriate action. Confronting evil succesfully is like winning a debate with sound arguments before an enlightened audience. It's about getting these people to respect each other and to get along. As soon as the fighting starts, evil has already won too much ground. And killing terrorists will not prevent other terrorists from coming into existence. Abusive parents that've beenput behind bars for life will never become any better parents.

  • Winning a debate with sound arguments and an enlightened audience is preaching to the choir. That's like telling a room full of generally non-violent people that evil is bad. We cannot eliminate all evil. But to say that having a little chit chat with terrorists over coffee will solve the problem is idiocy.

The terrorists and the abusive parents had their chance in life. They screwed up. "Confronting" them with a debate won't change their minds either.

  • I agree that words and diplomacy should come first. But, once the terrorist starts blowing things up and the parent starts raping his child, it's too late. Because in a society, it is already taught these things are evil. Words and diplomacy have intrinsically been tried.

When all else fails, violence prevails.

  • Not when you're the one who enlightened them. And who spoke about chit chatting with terrorists etc as problemsolver except for you ? He spoke about confronting evil in general and used abusive parents as example who should be dealt with. Why ? Stop their kids from becoming terrorists maybe. Takes less effort than stopping terrorists. Excellent point by Obama. You've to deal with problems at the root as much as possible. Deal with class bully, & parents, before he might become something worse.

  • No you idiot. I said you can't deal with terrorists the same way you deal with a class bully.

  • evil comes in many forms and shapes.

  • This is why Obama will destroy this country. Him and his nitwit followers believe in the moral equivalency between class bullies and terrorists. Obama specifically chose not to use the word 'defeat', because he feels just confronting it, as you would a class bully, will suffice. You don't need to defeat it, or even attempt. Why even try, it can't be done right? You'd have kill bullying children to defeat it all. So, just confront evil with a well written speech and all will be good.

  • There's no such thing as a born terrorist. People grow up to become one, and obviously a lot of that happens during childhood. Not just the class bully, it could be the class bully's victim too. Combined with a whole range of causes. Obama's overall message is, that we should start confronting evil in the early stages too and not wait for it to grow unnoticed in our midst until it manifests. To be in the know about the root of problems and not just deal with it's side-effects, such as terrorism.
