In the EXTREME Christmas Review special, he pointed out the focus of the show was to review BAD comic books, not to have a mixed field of reviewing good, bad and mediocre comics. In other words he'll just stick to reviewing bad comics unless he wants to focus on a specifc aspect of a good comic for a review, which seems fairly rare (Besides Blue Beetle what other fully positive reviews has he done for a comic?).

Surely there is bad manga around. Cheeky Angel was REALLY bad, I think. When you look around long enough, you'll find the bad stuff too...

I do think that finding bad manga is hard. The series aren't usually that long when you compare them to comics, so it's a bit easier to keep them together without any bigger plot holes...

...but then again, it has been quite a long time since I read manga.

I noted that in your 'Superman at Earth's End' review you criticized Garth Ennis' 'The Boys'. I was just wondering if youliked any of his writing? Such as 'Hitman' and his run on 'Hellblazer'? And,of course, 'Preacher'. Which I think just fizzled out at the end.

The Golden Age of comics generally is recognized as starting with Superman's first appearance in Action Comics #1, way back in the 1930s. The Silver Age began in the 1950s, with revamping older heroes from the Golden Age with science fiction twists, and ending with the death of Spider-Man's girlfriend Gwen Stacy. The Dark Age is 1985 through the nineties, with grimmer, darker heroes and other assorted stuff.

What age are we in now? Still widely debated.
