if ur gonna be doing "lets plays" and u want to record ur voice while u play (because they're akward to do after u've recorded gameplay..lol) then just as ur recording ur game, record ur voice at the same time through the mic on ur comp (u won't need mic for FF) through normal voice recorder in ur accessories folder (assuming u have windows) and sync em up after during the edit
@gremlin42079 I'll see what works, I don't think I'll be doing any live coms other then let's plays, otherwise I'll have to put a parental advisory at the beginning of all my CoD videos because of all the harsh language used lol.

@ccloudff7 all you have to do is hook up the usb into your pc from your headset and set it to your default communication device. also there is a free program called audacity that is better for recording your voice . i can help you if you have any other questions
it is not lettin me reply.. wtf.. but ur gonna need 2 sets of component cables.. as far as sound goes.. if it's a commentary i'll usually just record voice afterwords in vegas itself.. if i'm doing a live commentary i usually just hook my headset up to pc while i'm gaming.. at least on console.. if i'm recording live on pc, thats the only time i can record my team and my mic at same time without some tricky shit involving a second mic and some hardcore syncing.. lol
not lettin me hit reply.. oh well.. anyways, ya that's what i was talkin about with the switch thing.. i was talkin about editing the dead time in switches between the inputs.. did u get the hauppage hd pvr? if so it's only gonna record ur ps3 signal no matter what ur tv is showing. and ur pip shouldn't record either. as far as the mic thing goes.. can ur mic hook up to ur pc? the pvr won't record ur mic anyway so plug that into pc to record voice while the pvr records game sound

And yea its the Hauppauge Hd Pvr 1212 edition, I didn't bother with the gaming edition because I read it only gives you component cables which I already have for xbox and ps3. I'm curious what do you use to just record mic sound then? Does Vegas do that or do I need another program?
@ccloudff7 No, I haven't been subbed long but I have watched/suffered through quite a few of your handheld camera videos. Not that they were bad, it'll just be nice to see you post HD gameplay footage.
if u have any questions about vegas or setup just lemme know.. maybe u can switch inputs between the one ur comp is on and the one with ur ps3 then just edit out the excess after... maybe... if ur laptop is there and has a built in mic, u can record through that and while u play and then sync it up after... but if u do commentaries just do the voice work over it in vegas.. hit me up on skype or grab me in a private lobby..

If you mean just start recording on my pc, then switch my tv back to display my game, yea I thought of that, yea I'd probably have to edit out the beginning possibly, depends on if it will record the menus on the tv or not, idk since the PIP is displaying 2 inputs not just showing 2 on 1 input, I might also be able to start recording in PIP then turn it off. Need a timer probably
