These three teens do a documentary about a ghost called the "Blair Witch", who basically makes her victims stand in a corner of a room, and kills them. I think she buries them and marks their grave with a pile of rocks. It turns out the Blair Witch is real, and starts haunting the teens while they get lost in a forest.

@scream44evr it was the original idea to make everything as realistic as possible and no editting, no camera crew, etc. Its more frightening if it seems real. Also when this movie first arrived in Theatres, the producers had said they "stumbled across" the footage. They probably paid the actors to go into hiding for 6 months (which 6 months after the film was released, the producers came out and told them it was all a lie). Very profitable with only a cheap camera. Now thats cool.

I found Blair Witch scary BECAUSE of the lack of explanation that everyone seems pissed at. The whole point of not seeing anything happening to the characters is so that viewers can make up their own minds who/what was messing with the kids and so there is less predictibility. That was what Paranormal activity lacked. I couldn't get into it because there was no mystery (and the annoying, unrealistic characters). I predicted exactly what was going to happen early on in the movie, even the ending.
