what an amaising car you had! can you remember what make your exhaust was and what make the dump valve was? and di you get it re-mapped because its very quick to 60 !
@jimmymew Thanks, it was a great car. The exhaust was sources/made by Top Gear in Bridport so I don't think it was a known brand name. It was the backbox and 3" bore pipe most of the way back, but I didn't get an equal length manifold (which is why it still sounds like a flat 4). The dump valve was a Baileys. Also I had a Green induction kit (cone). Also I had a Turbo Technics turbo fitted not long after I got it because the original one screwed up (I didn't mistreat it and always idled it)
@jimmymew I also used higher quality fuel always which apparently the chip would slowly remap to over time. However I didn't do a proper remap, I always wanted to but didn't have the spare cash. Still it was fast for a Turbo 2000, perhaps as a result of those parts. The guy I sold it too has had it remapped and now it's even faster :-)
@nmo888 Yep, I used to live in North Allington, and you are correct - it had gold wheels! (good memory). I used to love that beefed up flat 4 sound. It's still around Bridport with a new owner I believe.
haha love the sound :) I've got an turbo 2000 wagon and i love the drive to yeovil on those roads! definitely will take more notice through beaminster tunnel in future as well.
@jimcoburn192 Yep, great roads if you are not stuck behind a lorry! When you get to the tunnel, open the window and drop down to second gear then boot it when it's clear and safe. Great sound.
@stitcha123 : I'm not a car expert, but I got mine 3 years old which meant it was half price but still in great condition, had it for 6 years and looked after it well. Take an expert with you to look at the car.
@JakeBirkett clios are good......but a bit old and rickety. subarus a bit more bulletproof. cheers man, ill let u know wen i get one, what did u get afterwards? anyhing decent?
@stitcha123 Ha! I got another one! I only sold that car because I moved to Canada. When I got here I bought another Subaru Impreza, but it's the 2.5 litre non-turbo and it's an estate/station-wagon so that we could go on family trips in a reliable decent car.
@stitcha123 its soooo good. std apart from dump valve and prodrive exhaust. otherwise exactl same as ures, in colour and everything. they drive so well, and so much power. i love it.
@stitcha123 Glad you are loving it. The dump valve and decent exhaust like you have will make it sound rad. They handle so well and the power is awesome.
Horrible cheap plasticy cars. OK they shift but interior has the feel of a 1970s Ford Cortina
