@italianissimo...Greeks didn't disappear as was proved by a Stanford University DNA study...99.5% of Greeks have the same DNA as their ancient ancestors...during the Ottoman occupation Christians and Muslims were segregated by law...viva grecia e viva italia!!!
"Tarantella dance has roots in Ancient Greece. It was a ritualistic dance in honor of the god of music and sun, Apollo, and god of wine, Dionysus. Ancient Greeks settled in Italy, and continued this beautiful dance to this day."
@Italianissimo86 My ancestors are from Lefkada, but they originate from Napoli, as their surname is actually italian. Viva la Grecia, Viva il Mezzogiorno!
@Italianissimo86 Hmmm yeah it can be... It says so in greek.. I mean the commentator... That the name comes from Arachna Tarantula, a girl, which thought she could dance better than anyone... But we don't have any dance called tarantella... I guess the dance remained in our Southern Italian brothers' culture :D
BTW...I'm from Cefalonia and I'm Greek and Italian and I feel both cultures in my blood.

hahaha I don't like this kind of performances. Because real tarantellas aren't like this. But I like, that brothership between south Italy and Greece.
I am south italian from Salento, but I feel more greek than italian.
Real tarantella is like this
