I own these, and there HORRIBLE They have 100% bass You can't even hear the mids and highs, there made of cheap particle board and cheap vinyl veneer. The 15'' white woofer is cool though. But they where intended to be cheap like all later fisher gear
These speakers are amazing. Dumb the two mid and hi speakesr. Just put any modern speakers, even a crappy one from a cheap stereo to the old leads and you will hear what im talking about.
I got a pair of these, I sold my PAs I use for DJing and using these suckers will better midrange speakers and some tweeters, sounds very awesome and they are really efficient.
Er...change the capacitors for metaxial, they're not rudimentary x.overs, but what's called Pioneer 'network free', reducing the distortion caused by coils etc. Your 8 inch RCA speaker is in a 'boundary wall position' lifting the bass, its dome tweeter spreads sound out to the sides but cone tweeters only fire the sound straight ahead! You've got to adjust the volume real careful for these ST-830 while sitting far back in your chair, you listening in the middle not like we see the ST-830 here!
There's a pair of similar ones at a pawn shop for $50.00 I love huge old speakers, despite the mids & highs those are good for techno, most new speakers have woofers that are too small.

I got a free single one of these, might go great on the Denon D-850 that has like to bass at all even with my Denon USF-20Fs

Awesome speakers, but I wouldn't pay $40 for them. I noticed Fisher put 2 layers of magnet on their drivers.
