if he put him on kk or AA and he had it beat, he wouldnt have announced that as if trying to scare AA or KK away....he would have hoped his read was right and just shut up and HOPED for a call.......this guy didnt stop and think about what just happened very well
Wats de big deal, guy is I sissy for folding kings just cos shlom said so, yu couldn't make much from de board why else wud a player call raises CONFIDENTLY less he had fat cards.
After seeing this video, I made a point of remembering to try this trick at a casino. I waited until I made a confident read, and then announced it to my opponent. He folded, looking startled. I took it down with complete air. It's a nice move but I imagine it could get you into a lot of trouble if you tried it at the wrong time.
@stephenjones102 He folded because Negreanu called his hand. He said "I think you have aces or kings." Now, if you knew that someone had pegged you for what was in your hand, and still decided to raise on you, you would have to assume that they could beat you.
The difference between Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth is this: I would pay to let Daniel take my money. I'd be laughing so hard that it would be worth it. When Phil took my money I'd like to break my beer bottle over his head. They'd both take my money, I'd just enjoy the experience of Daniel taking my money.
You forgot pro poker player with professional poker commentating experience similar to Norman Chad, Lon McEachern, Gabe Kaplan, Jesse May, and Ali Nejad to name a few.
People saying they would call are funny. You do realise that there was a straight draw on the board, if you go all in with your stupid KK you're looking to lose it. People are always experts online. Remember he did bluff him, but the way Dan raises and reads the other guys cards, it just makes him think, maybe he does have the straight, hell he might even have a set of 9's or something.
@Loswaldo I am not saying that I would call but isn't this bluff a bit wierd? I mean if Dan had the straight he wouldn't be trying to intimidate his opponent; he'd be doing the exact opposite. I tried to do this trick once (and managed to read my opponents cards correctly) but he called anyway. I guess mind playing games are not easy.
@MrMastermindsss I don't claim to be a great poker player as my last comment clearly stated but I definitely would have seen negreanus ply in calling the hand then raising the river as weakness rather than strength.I knew my honesty wouldn't be appreciated as any comment which seems to be negative towards negreanu on youtube is instantly jumped upon by his myopic fans.Just giving my opinion no need to jump down my throat like some immature git who can't take an opposing thought.
I like how Daniel played here, but... I think Shlomi played like a chump. Only thing on the board that could have beat him was a straight, and Daniel didn't play it like that at all. I viewed his raise as an over raise, which would have felt like, to me, a way to buy the pot.
@mtwarriner No it's not a bad fold. Daniel could have a set or 2 pair, he called a big raise pre flop and 2 big bets also. I don't mind that fold, only looks bad cos you can see his hold cards.
Makes great TV, but he would never had said that if he could beat it. It's a good tactic because the guy is gonna look ridiculous if he calls and lose after Daniel called his hand, which are the hands he don't want to see. Daniel often acts like a sneaky bastard while acting like such a good guy.
He was representing a few unlikely hands, but the other guy played kinda amateurish. X5bb utg followed by those river bets that are saying: I have top top/overpair so please call but don't raise.
such a gutsy move i love it though makes great tv, although...dont try that all the time its eassy saying so after the fact but, that river is a call all day specially when daniel says aces or kings i think u have, i'd put him on either a set of queens he made on the turn or a missed straight/flush draw i'd still call though, but i love this made me smile well done daniel
@StonewallJackson26 It might have had an effect on patience, where and who you grow up around does have an effect on small things such as patience. So his nationality could have SOMETHING to do with it. Get real!
The absolute MOST important thing to pick up on here is the experience/intelligence level of the opponent in question. If Daniel were to try this kind of thing versus some genius, high-level pro...a different result would likely ensue.

@ifutureman It is a mind trick, if you play online you will notice that usually 4bet or higher is a big pair and he obviously had a over pair on the flop when kidpoker has a high card pair, or the guy is bluffing him which makes it really shocking that he continues to bet large and then just pots it at the end. So kidpoker was really certain he had KK or AA and i know this comment will look like shit cause i've seen the hole-cards rofl but that is what i honestly believe.
Wow such a tell. when Negreanu calls the other guy's hand out loud, he's acting super strong and confident, which anyone who's played 5 minutes of poker knows means a bluff.
