What pakistan needs is a democratic makeover with secular laws to root out religious extremeism, proper implementation of women's rights, work in the mines that is filled with minerals to stimulate the economy and proper centers to give funding to widows, mothers, the poor, unemployed and old people as well as age care etc. I live in australia and we have it here lol. Its more 'Islamic' than the 'Islamic' countries who don't give zakat worth piss/
@QueenTudor4 You are right. The problem is that the corruption is so large in Pakistan that no new laws or government spending will change anything.
Back in the 1960s and 1970s, Pakistan was a country to look unto because it was doing so well in terms of economical growth and increasing standard of living. Compared to India, Pakistan was far greater at the time but look at how things have turned upside down...

It's no surprise that Zia was a militant sunni in which his regime persecuted Non sunnis. Look at what we see today, its Sunnis and Salafis who are killing and persecuting Shias, Ahmadis, Sufis, Christians and Hindus in Pakistan. If Quran Only muslims become a visible minority, then you can expect this persecution to spread over to them.
The only way Pakistan can possibly change is in 2013 elections, elect a competent party not the same tried and tested shit parties Pakistan has been suffering.

@abi14024 Yes but not everyone is a muslim and not everyone follows Islam the same way hence you need secularism and of course you need further laws when precedence comes into place so as not to defy 'no compulsion in religion' and give suitable laws for things not mentioned in the quran like rape. Extremist mullah islam has already ruled pakistan and look what has happened. People want this law. In egypt they protested for secular not sharia :)
