Anybody who wont see this movie because of the subject matter is a fool. I mean, what is your excuse? I read that even if this movie comes to America it will have much of the movie deleted. A love story is a love story and we certainly get an eyeful of hetero sex in the movies. Come on America censors, relax. Europe certainly allows its citizens to judge what they want to see.

I agree. Man on the Moon and The Truman Show are great films. He really took the world by storm with them and proved he's an incredible actor. And he continues to prove it by picking complex roles. This is a complex role, and not because it's a gay role. Also, the script isn't dumb nor is the book it's based on and the true life tale.

I enjoy watching both McGregor and Carrey because they choose dynamic and interesting roles. Also, I would love to see Carrey sexuality being celebrated more on screen; whether straight or gay, I don't care, it's just nice to see him as something more than "the funny guy. "

Yes, distribute it now!! Let people decide for themselves whether they choose to see it or not - at least give it a chance! I understand that it's all about making money, and potential distributors don't know exactly how to market it and who the audience would be, but word of mouth works well for that. Give it a limited release at first, and if it catches on then put it in more theaters. That's done all the time. Again - at least give it a chance, it deserves that. I'm dying to see it.

I know that the concern is that distributors aren't sure what kind of audience they'd attract and the whole point is to make a profit, but even releasing it to independent theaters is better than not releasing it at all. To be sure of the kind of demographic it will reach, more publicity efforts need to be made, so that the general public will want to see the movie as much as the handful of people now who know the movie even exists.

From what I saw and heard, this is a clever script, a hilarious naughty comedy and a good story, with damn good performances.

Is it the gay-thing? We're 2009, right? C'mon ... which studio has the balls? Pick it up! I want to see it in theatres, and many others also!
