It was on Nickelodeon originally, but the song was great so it caught on, and those of us of the generation that grew up with it still just love the song. Back when we were kids, there was a dark side to kid humor. Closest thing I can think of now, that's dark, is Invader Zim

Very nice. I love the Uke. I used to play. I had a book by Arthur Godfrey that talk it. I used to do "That's Where My Money Goes, to buy my baby's clothes..." and a few other fun things. I love "I'll see you in my dreams" too! Never heard the uke version by Joe Brown until ususaulsuspect71 mentioned it.
