  • Have to love Mick Lyons Hit on yer man at 7 secs. The guy was the hardest guy ever

  • ha they kept him in a cage in summerhill what a lege

  • Who was supposed to be tracking Foley ie who was the corner forward for Dublin? Where was he?

  • It was Nialll Guiden who incidentally was on fire and gave Foley the run around all day, until.....

Jesus id do anything for a day like that again, pity no one has put up Jody Devine against Kildare.

  • devine against kildare is up

  • i was there for them all 16 years old i think we need to wear those jerseys again pure class

  • ha ha good idea

  • Seen it 100 times, at least, but I've never heard it with O'Muircheartaigh's commentary before. Great stuff. I was a very young lad in the Canal End that day. Incredible stuff, never to be forgotten.

More of the same this Sunday, boys? C'mon Meath!

  • were der many royals in d canal end? or were der more dubs?

i was born in 1991 so i wouldnt know!

  • CE was predominantly Meath. At least 70% of the crowd were Royal and the Dublin supporters tended to be more spread out and towards the bottom of the terrace.

Meaths fans under the scoreboard and everywhere in that area would make a lot of noise.

Croker's a fine stadium now - but it lost something in atmosphere when the Canal became seated. Nothing quite like one end of the pitch covered in blue, the other green. The 1990's in the Canal End brought about some of my favourite sporting memories.

  • ye true....its just you cant tell much about the atmosphere from a video lol!

first time i was in the canal end was in 1999 v aramagh, but it was seating.....

btw when did the royals start singing 'COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN'?

  • The boy the Kev; Meath could do with a few more hard as nails players these days.

  • meath4life!!

  • no the better team lost but thats the funny thing about it. we robbed them AGAIN lol

  • What a thrilling series of games. The Dubs were robbed but it was some exciting finish to superb battle of two of Gaelic Football great rivals. And what can we say about Michael O Muireartaigh, A Legend, He makes every game worth listening to.

  • they were not robbed,

    better team won!
