@Warfresco There really wasn't that much of a difference. The lights are OFF more than they are ON. Also I used almost all LED lights.

The Program to do it is Very Time Consuming!! Not to mention Buy the dimmers to do it is 350$ for 32 Channels. (not including software and the Lights) After every thing is Bought You better make sure you have enough Amps to run the system without blowing the main Breaker for your house.. Standard hook up for a house is 200amps. - sounds like a lot.. not really. (stove uses 50amp, Washer and Dryer us 45amps - that's half right there)

If you have the time and Money and the Power its a fun :)

they have the light show synced up to a computer basically and the computer programs the lights to go on and off at certain times, basically its a set up software all you need is the right lights and software :) or so i believe

What system are you using Light-O-Rama, Renard, Dlights, Grinch, 595, DMX, Animated Lighting?

I just stumbled on to this myself. I am in the process of puting my second board together. I am using the Renard 24 boards. What's cool about do it yourself is that you can make about 72channels for the price of one 16 channel LOR controller.

I am using LOR. Though your probablly right LOR is not the best bang for the buck...the reason I selected this was for the DMX interface and I just fell in love with their software. I like the software, and I like that this year I was able to mix normal LOR controllers with other DMX light fixtures like lasers, fog machines, and smart lights. Call me spoiled...Never heard of Renard, I will have to dig into this. Thanks for the tip.

The lights on the mega tree are LED, agreed the GREEN / RED are really hard to see. The MCD "millicandelas" for the green LEDs are 180, red 240, blue 1800 and white 2200 MCD. BIG DIFFERENCE. Red and green LED's have the lowest MCD output ratings. Cash flow was tight last year. I got them 75% off and wanted to build a 32 channel mega tree, at $5 a box $160 all I could get was 32 boxes, I wanted to triple them up, but there was no way I could dump $480 into lights for a mega tree last year

What do you mean, not very "Christmasmy" music? That is "Christmas in Serajevo," which has been out a few years now. It's by the "Trans-Siberian Orchestra." I can not beleive that you have not heard of it. They play it CONSTANTLY on our stations at Christmas time.
