i cant remember the last 2D animaition film disney made. all movie companies make CGI animated movies (there not bad though) i prefer hand drawn animation its more artistic and takes more time to create. this movie has all the elements of a classic disney film: its a musical, its filled with great humor, and the characters, my God, are animated so greatly. This movie desevres to be a classic.

Since a lot of people seem to be confused about it: Naveen's design is different because this is a teaser, something that gets put together as soon as they know where they're going with the movie, so it comes very early in production. Naveen's design simply wasn't finalized by the time this was made.

I'm glad that Disney is going back to the whole fairy tale/princess angle again instead of the whole Disney channel crap. I feel like kids today are being jipped with that. I think it's even better that they're taking the princess angle and pushing a "do it yourself", "a wish can only take you so far", or "beauty comes from within" take. I love what Pixar does and their movies are beyond talented and amazing, but I think watching Disney cartoons end up as the most favorite memories of kids.

Disney actually has decided to dive back into traditional 2D animation - it's such an integrated part of the company (they created a lot of the principles, methods, and ideas for it) that it'd only truly be abandoned if Disney didn't care anymore - which, thankfully, they still do, and a lot. :D

The Princess and the Frog was also drawn entirely by hand; computers were only used to color and sync it to audio in the program Digicel Flipbook 6.

It's going to be a fantasmal movie - I can't wait!

no actually john lasseter, head of Pixar and now Disney's chief creator, is trying to bring back hand-drawn animation, i just recently read that they're coming out with a new Winnie the Pooh movie in 2011... just hopefully that this movie (princess and the frog) is a big hit in theaters because if its not then they might not have many 2d movies in the future....
