    Smith is not safer and its is a waste of time squatting in the smith machine.

  • @MrDan500 in my oninion is the smith-maschine squat much better and safer than the regular squat and you don't need a buddy to help you out when you can't get up. !!

    Ever seen someone slip in a smith machine? Bar doesn't fall back, lands on their neck crushes spine.

  • Your feet should be forward. Its easier on the knees and your back. Reason being, when you're doing free weight squats, your not lifting the weight straight up and down like on a smith. Thats why having the feet directly below the bar and trying for a normal squat motion will put strain on your lower back. My buddy's spine popped out that way.

  • these are only an option if you have an injury that prevents you from doing FREE BAR SQUATS.

  • Good stuff... just started doing them a week ago. Your back looked a bit too arched rigged though?
